  2. Maybe there is an individual evaluation of each player and their capabilities as opposed to we treat everyone the same. Maybe crochet insisted he wanted to be a starter and his arm felt good throughout the process and Taylor is having trouble with his arm bouncing back after only 3 inning outings. People, not necessarily you, are stating very definite views without having all the information.

  3. Last year they averaged giving up 5.03 runs per games. This year 4.39.

  12. We were jumping up and down complaining about Eisert going in to protect a one run lead. Hard to win too many close games with a terrible bullpen.

  13. Nope. Getz is consistent as hell… 2024: 15-35 through 50 games 2025: 15-35 through 50 games

  14. Am I wrong? Why do you swing if all you have is two runners there when you could have just gotten on base? You're 3-1 and hitting it hard at the fucking infield is not the choice. also yes I'm day drinking. edit re: day drinking, now I can eat some food and hit up the bars for the playoffs of sports that Chicago also didn't qualify for

  26. We let this man create his own offseason program that was featured on his instagram with lots and lots of eyewash and eating from what we could tell. The rudderless ship allowed him to regress and a very promising prospect is now broken and another team will fix him.

  29. They are either going to dump him for an awful return or he's going to get his option declined. Never in a million years would I have guessed this was going to be Luis Roberts fate.

  30. Except he played better when the team was better, and now is worse when the team is at its worst.

  31. Sorry, but not everyone chooses to defend every bad GM after bad GM that the worst owner in baseball chooses to employ. Hahn failed miserably and Getz is doing the same. The Sox are currently on pace for the same garbage record as last season after 48 games. But I’ll wait for the typical and lame response — “But it’s a rebuild!” The fact that there would even be divergent views on these bum GMs that Jerry keeps employing is hilarious.

  32. I tend to think successful MLB players silently blacklist this organization. Who knows that maybe some office people do the same. But there is probably more job security in those positions because results don't matter. See Chris Getz

  35. That sounds like half the line-up...starting with Vaughn/Robert. Slider/sweeper/sleeper, whatever, low and away is the death zone.

  36. The likelihood that this move means anything for them down the line is slim, hurts nothing. And yea, he is not that good 😂

  37. You know the rules. If you’re not spitting out the same bot-like replies about Getz being bad, that means you think he’s doing good and everything is fine.

  39. Not much of a point. Of course he is thats why he's available. Thank you CPT. Obvious. Looked like you were making some kind of point about the pitching depth since that's what you wrote .

  40. He’s old and bad. Didn’t think I would have to spell it out, but I guess I did.

  41. I know it's not likely, but if he could pitch not terribly and keep the bullpen's involvement to fewer innings, I say welcome aboard.

  44. My fraternity brothers, of all years, try to reunite annually since Covid changed things. A moment of silence and toast is performed for all who are no longer with us. Perhaps at the next SoxTalk gathering something similar could be performed?

  45. Guys this one is rough. Not only are we losing a founding father here, but we lost one of the genuine and nicest persons you will ever meet. Alex always was who he was at his core. He understood two things in life long before I did. Service above self. Do something so well they will pay you for it. Dude was loved by everyone who he connected with, and for good reason. There is a Heads sized hole in all of us today. Love to his family and army of friends.

  46. Only knew him from his posts, but always was insightful, and humorous. I thought he was a good guy even though he was a Cyclone. This is so sad on many levels. Peace to his family.

  47. I just want to say that Alex from start to finish was ingrained into the soul and fabric of this site. He could discuss any topic on the forum with ease, intensity, and most importantly, humility. When we had what could have been an incredibly embarrassing site moment with Joe Cowley talking s%*# about this site, he contacted Joe directly and they talked it out and Joe actually gave a little bit of respect back (even though the s%*# talking damage was done) Alex was a great guy. He loved his University, he loved their football team, and he loved the White Sox. I will miss him dearly, he had a very good and engaging sense of humor that never made you feel like you were a target but rather in on the joke. Alex will always be one of us
