  1. Rojas needs to absolutely get cut after that. I mean he should have been before too.

  5. People so desperately want this rebuild to be on the right track. I don’t see it at all. Bunch of mediocre players and bad trade acquisitions. I’ve said before I think only catching is set going forward.

  6. I notice a nexus between Vargas not hitting and his biggest advocate, Harold, not posting. Please resume posting Harold - Vagas needs you! Venable using Rojas as a pinch hitter is nothing but a clown act; not taking his job seriously.

  7. This is why people b**** more about Vargas than Sosa (I know you didn't complain about that). We spent $325K on some 16 YO Cuban kid with Sosa. It's a win that he's here even if he wouldn't be, at this point, for a reasonably decent team. We traded a good chip for Vargas. That's a massive whiff.

  8. Seriously who is he talking to? Who are you selling this team to? I'm watching the game on Friday at 2. I'm a loser. You don't need to try to get me excited that Chase Meidroth likes when a teammate hits a homer.

  9. If we are looking at Schultz the big reason for fatigue is this is the first time in his life he is throwing a lot of pitches in each outing, and it is the first time he is doing it on a regular 5 day schedule. They babied him soooooo much the last couple of years, and then they just set him lose this year. Last year the most pitches he threw in an outing was 67. He never went more than 4 innings in any outing. This year 14 of his 15 outings have been over his former career high of 67, with those outing ranging from 70 to 93 pitches in an outing. 67 to 93 is around a 40% increase. The only time he was less than 67 was when he blew for 60 in one of his recent AAA starts, but he did it in 2 innings and he was yanked. The kid has already faced almost as many batters this year in a half of a season (306) as he did in a full season last year (358). It is a big adjustment to go out and know you can let your stuff loose as much as you want, because you don't need to last far, to knowing you want to push up against 100 pitches with it, so you need to have something for the 5th and 6th innings, which he had never seen in his professional career. Him and Shane Smith are in the same boat here. I want to see how the both bounceback next year to really know what we have.

  24. lol…you actually think I’m lying when I say an obviously dumb post was intentional trolling. f*** man, you got me. I guess I never posted the comment below in the 4th of July gamethread and unfortunately you weren’t there that day to agree with me. Oh wait…🤔 As for Robert, I have never argued he is a star player or even good in his current form and it’s fucking wild you are arguing otherwise. But I get it, you are butt hurt that I call you out for your consistently poor analysis & blindly pessimistic takes and are hoping to gotcha me. Unfortunately, tonight won’t be your night buddy.

  25. He's local for me and I've seen him plenty (non-pro). He's been treated with kid gloves (not faulting it and I wouldn't want to be the one to wreck that arm either) his entire career. Yes, mono kept him out most of his last HS season.

  31. Billy Carlson, SS, Corona HS (CA) Rank: 8 Carlson is in play to varying degrees at most picks starting around No. 5, with a floor around No. 12 and hot spots from 8 to 10, so this is right around what he should be expecting. The White Sox may be the highest on JoJo Parker and his brother Jacob, but I don't think they can get JoJo down to their pick. Steele Hall, Josh Hammond and Gavin Fien are also tied here in a very prep hitter-heavy mix, with prep LHP Kruz Schoolcraft a long shot/later overpay possibility. Keep an eye on Gavin Turley and Mason Ligenza at later picks. From Kiley's latest mock on ESPN this morning.

  33. The list of possible starters in 2026 should include McDougal. Getz just name checked him as a guy who may get innings this year. Kid is Rule 5 eligible. He is on the cusp.

  34. First cub manager I remember, I remember when he bumped an ump, then flicked him off. Or maybe those were 2 separate instances. I was cub fan that 83 season, even cried when Reds hit a granny against them, which got me in trouble. That's right, I got yelled at for taking baseball too seriously, then my sis thought it was so hilarious, she invited a friend over to join in at laughing at my "pain". RIP to a real one, him and Torborg are now gone. Popeye too. We still have Frey, Tony, Fregosi, Gene Michael, Jim Essian, Gene Lamont, Bevington and Treblehorn. The good ol days.

  35. Hope you're not a betting type Wdym by arrived, I thought it was on the premium tier this whole time. So, why is the game rescheduled to 2pm instead of the usual 1pm. Is the transition between games always smooth. at a recent NY crosstown split DH, the first game was delayed and went into extras, so then when it was time to start game 2, fans from the 1st game weren't all corralled out of there yet, so it became a whole disaster. They had to delay game 2 IIRC because of the fan jam. Total mess. I take it if any fans from game 1 are bold enough to stay in the park until game 2, security will just let them. Has anyone ever tried this. Would like to know what it's like to loiter in there that long What was the yacht rock promotion about, I love that genre. Were they gonna play songs between innings. Did they play YR music during the rain delay. Can last night's tickets be redeemed for another game, or do clubs not do that anymore once a rescheduled date is set. Ugh, with this daytime reschedule, it looks like our day games this year still outnumber our night games. This season might have the latest date where night games finally outnumber day, since olden days. What was the Rain Delay Theatre last night. Was it Top Prospects again, or the WS Podcast. I miss the days of TWIB during delays

  41. Love if Ozzie could do his famous wide and tall call for Bobby one last time...and then point both fingers at the sky. I doubt that there will be another WSox world series for another generation or two ... at least, so fond memories of the '05 playoffs and that parade downtown will continue to mean a lot for Sox fans. We finally won one and it was before the Cubs piled up 100+ seasons in this city without a WS championship.

  43. Listening further, it sounds like it's gonna cause a lot of havoc or annoyance with the later first round prep types. The Orioles are gonna be calling up a bunch of those offering them more money with them, where in turn agents will be calling up the interested teams with higher picks telling them they have a higher offer and that they will need to match it or offer more for them to sign.

  44. You're no longer close enough to the team if you ever were, to pass judgement on so many people. All Getz is doing is working what he was given which is pretty much nothing and a lot of it was new hires , some last year and some this year. So maybe you better do some real journalism again and start constructing a time line starting with when Getz took over and investigating who was hired for what roles and when, in every department along with timeslines for when the new Dominican Academy will be finished. Also depending on agreements already in place with the most promising youngsters, figure out what year to expect to start doing a better job in the international market . Have someone take you on a tour and show you the Sox pitching ,hitting, and R & D new equipment. Maybe you can learn the purpose of a Trajekt machine, see the motion capture biomechanics in action and things you've never had a chance to see before. I think you have lost the objectivity necessary to do an honest assessment . It's a shame too because you use to do good historical work. But you're stuck in the past while the organization has been taking steps to move forward with some dusty money from the bottom of JR's change jar.

  45. I don't, which is why I don't think this team will be good at anytime in the rest of this decade. I do not see nearly enough offensive talent, nor a compelling reason to add to this team in any meaningful way in free agency.

  46. Look, this team is going to be bad for the near to mid future, at the very least. If you don't have the time now to develop young kids, you never will. You also need faith in your dev team to draft guys like this.

  47. They're picking in a weird. It just depends on the craziness in front of them. None of these players are worth the slot values so teams will be deal hunting early. He didn't. Best player on the board though.

  48. I think our pitching development is overrated here. We put a ton of resources into it compared to hitting and get better than last results. But this ain't milwaukee. We are just one years removed from being unable to find even a single competent starter in AAA that could spot start and not be a disaster. And could not find a competent reliever. That doesn't happen to teams that can actually develop pitching.
