  1. Boys, it’s do or die time tonight. I went into the home games feeling we had this series locked down, but for many reasons we failed to take advantage of a great opportunity. Attending the two home games, you could feel the momentum quickly shift from us to them. The pitching staff is clearly gassed and the bats are now pressing. The magic feels like it’s starting to wane and as a diehard fan waking up & getting through these past few days has been brutal. You can tell the fan base is starting to lose hope as we head into a game five on the road. But you know what, f*** Cleveland. There is nothing more in this world than I hate than the city of Cleveland and its mouth breathing inhabitants. I went to college in Ohio and was constantly surrounded by these arrogant douches. These assholes have an entitlement that is not even remotely deserved. They also live in the armpit of America. Their river literally burned on fire. Their NFL team jump shipped and went to Baltimore of all places. A recent study had Cleveland as the worst place to raise a family out of 150+ large cities in the US due to general suckiness . Their most famous and adored celebrity is Drew fucking Carrey. How such a shitty place came to be is almost unfathomable. And yet here we are, one game away from losing the ALDS to the scum of the Earth in a place worse than Hell. I refuse to accept that outcome and I know the Sox refuse to accept that outcome. We just went into this shithole and took two on the road…no reason we can’t take one more. Sean Burke is one of the most bad ass motherfuckers around. I sat next to his grandma and several other family members at Fenway when we played the Red Sox earlier this year. It became clear to me during my conversations with them that this dude only cares about one thing and that’s dominating on a fucking mound. He wants the ball in the biggest moments and on the biggest of stages. And there is no bigger stage than a must win game #5 on a Saturday night on primetime TV vs. a much hated divisional rival. If there’s one dude on this team who could give two fucks about momentum and who will win or die trying it’s Sean Burke. I stand with Sean Burke. I stand with the bats who led the AL in runs scored. And I stand with my Soxtalk brethren who are some of the biggest diehards I know. None of us deserve s%*#…we aren’t like those entitled Clevelanders and expect a free handout. But I do know this…no one wants this more than us. And when everything is on the line, it’s the ones who want it more that usually come out victorious. Our boys are going into this game tonight hungrier than ever and aren’t leaving Cleveland without a W…you can book that s%*#. Let’s fucking go!!!
  2. And I would like to see him brought back in 2027. That is all.
  3. So many threads about negative fire just wanted to yin the yang. BIG step forward this year I'll see y'all in the spring.
  4. The Castillo trade killed us. Made us worse, poorer and precluded getting a better starting pitcher.
  5. Just walked in on my wife with another man. Needless to say, I'm distraught. I thought she was loyal. The betrayal is painful. She told me she was Celibate for Sean, and now I know thats simply not true.
  6. Hey. This s%*# hurts. Take as much time as you need to grieve and come back here when you’re ready. But this team has healed a lot of wounds for many of us. Let’s show them some love.
  7. While we're still bitching about players: Anthony Kay was fucking awful all postseason. He seemingly fell behind every hitter. Even when he did get outs, they were liners hit right at outfielders. For someone who was actually good against the Guardians all regular season, he really choked.
  8. I love what Miggy, Sam, Chase and Burke have become this year. They’ve each carried this team for stretches and look like core players moving forward.
  9. Disappointing but noone thought we'd go that far. Hell of a season. Getz failed the players with his horrible deadline acquisitions. Cleveland ironically killed us with theirs.
  10. We made the ALDS and lost in game 5. You are all soft.
  11. Set a record for striking out in the postseason? Fitting. Hitting coach should be canned.
  12. I do think we should acknowledge that Burke can and should get some ass. He deserves it.
  13. It really sucks. It was an embarrassing loss with the strikeouts. That said I still feel like a lot of you are soft. “Oh no we lost in the ALDS let’s trade everyone that didn’t play well waaah”.
  14. Or number 3, they were a good team that was simply young and ultimately ran out of gas.
  15. The whole deadline destroyed any high ceiling this team could have had.
  16. Sam is one of the few players on this team I trust. He looks like he knows how to hit when the rest swing at s%*#. Maybe the closer will implode and the Sox will win? Hey, it could happen.
  17. One could say it’s gone off the rails. :rimshot: 🥁
  18. I have your posts on ignore because of your utter failure to engage in a discussion in a rational manner even once. I also didn't join Soxtalk to race to the bottom and make petty personal insults to people who disagree with me on any topic. But, I have to make an exception here to stand up for myself. You're a fucking lying idiot who does nothing but launch personal attacks that aren't based on reality. I'm not even going to waste my time responding point by point to your nonsense because what you spout about other people is just total bullshit. A few months ago, you went after me for saying that I took my kids to the Fundamental area. That shows everyone how much of a fucking lowlife you are. Going after my family life because you don't like my opinion about stadiums? Really? FUCKING IMBECILE. You think you're more of a Sox fan than others because of some idiotic idea that your more "South Side" than others? What a sad, warped world view you have. Stop waving your dick about your South Side street cred, nobody give a s%*#....seriously there are zero posters who are impressed by this. In fact, it just make you look pathetic to others reading this thread. Look around. Nobody...and I mean NOBODY here likes your tired schtick. And yet, you continue to come here to take a steaming dump on this thread over and over again because stadium news hurts your feelings and makes you want to lash out at everyone. Fucking crybaby. I'm sure your response to this is just to put a laugh emoji. Sorry to break it to you, but that is not a "sick burn", it just shows how much of a fucking idiotic coward you are. I take great joy in seeing how other posters take you down in epic fashion over and over again. Other posters should (and have) voiced their opinion that they'd rather the Sox stay at Rate Field, or at least at 35th St. That's a legitimate difference of opinion that fans can have. There are pros and cons to each of the stadium options the Sox could take after 2029. Each site has benefits and drawbacks. But you're not interested in any of that. In fact, for other people who want the Sox to stay at 35th St over the South Loop, you're just an embarrassment to their side of the issue who drowns out legitimate concerns about the South Loop option with comically unhinged tantrums. Okay, everyone - carry on. Go Sox and hopefully we can raise some pennant flags before this team moves to Railyards Field in 7 or 8 years.
  19. It’s going to take time to process everything that’s happened since Wednesday. Short story is this hurts…a lot. What can you say when the Sox lose a 2-0 lead in a best of five series, strike out 21 times in the deciding game and an incredible 52 times in the three losses. "Home Run or Nothing..." That’s mind blowing. But the bottom line remains true today as it did in the 1920’s, 1950’s, 1980’s anytime baseball has been played. PITCHING WINS PENNANTS. Cleveland has been doing this for a decade so maybe we shouldn’t be surprised at what happened. But to be fair what the Sox did this year was remarkable given the state of their pitching staff. A winning season, the first since 2021 and only the sixth since the 2007 season began. A 1% chance to make the playoff, yet they did so. Winning a playoff series for the first time since 2005. Winning a pair of games in the next round. And let's not forget they got farther than the Cubs! (LOL) Those accomplishments need to be absolutely noted. What happens now? Who can say, with the lockout coming and no guarantees baseball will be played in 2027. But if the Sox want to take the next step, assuming they are allowed to invest in talent, one area simply has got to be made the priority. Pitching, pitching and more pitching. Period, end of story. You can’t keep succeeding when you are forced to use an “opener” 30-40 times a season. Be that as it may despite the pain right now, it was a successful year. All we can do now is hope things get settled labor-wise and the Sox do what needs to be done.
  20. If I had to order the playoff seasons I've seen after 2000: 1. 2005 2. 2026 3. 2008 4. 2020 5. 2021
  21. Yup. We barely lost the division to them and now we barely lose in the playoffs to them. Truth is, they weren't a very good team. I felt like we were the superior team in the regular season. And we were clearly the better team after 2 games. But then we decided to let Adell beat us and woke up a sleeping monster in JRam. Ramirez honestly had not done much of anything against us all season. I'm thinking most of that was because he was hurt, but he absolutely carried Cleveland these past 3 games.
  22. And like - I hate they didn’t go for it at the deadline - but they DID save that powder and DID make the playoffs and DID sweep the wild card. That is what many at the deadline would have been cool with. We have bonemer, and Carlson, and Roch. We had a 2 million year in attendance and doubled viewership on the sub service. We have salary to spend and a team that actually got some good free agents the last two years from the bargain bin.
  23. Sean Burke was GREAT today. Sean Newcomb was GREAT. And the batters didn’t do them justice.
  24. Never scored more than 5 runs in any game. Also only hit 2 homers all series despite all the Ks. It's one thing if you're hitting homers with the Ks. It's another to get no benefit from swinging for the fences every time.
  25. Blowing a 6 game division lead on the Guardians, and then a 2-0 series lead with home field advantage IS an epic choke job regardless of whether this is a "real" playoff team whatever the hell that means. They were here, so they were real. As is the choke job.
  26. Oh well Well pitched ball game, Ramirez hit a very good pitch for a HR, our guys s%*# the bed. Maybe just too inexperienced against a team that's been here before. Improve as hitters by more plate discipline and get some quality arms.
  27. Great defense, power ability and young(coachable). They are 2 starters short from winning the division the next 2-3 years.
  28. This fucking sucks. But let's be honest they killed themselves in game 3 and 4
  29. What ever happens tonight im thankfull for the thrilling season the sox gave us when we all thought they might just finish middle of the pack.Cant believe I am watching white sox playoff baseball this season and they did pretty dam good with a kinda shitty starting pitching staff.Hope next year we can make it back to the playoffs.
  30. I don’t understand why we never have Ant and Chase batting 1-2
  31. Leave it all on field boys - house money - keep on rolling!!! Let’s go!!!
  32. For someone who loves to cry about woke, you are pretty damned fragile in here yelling at anyone who offends you, which happens all the time.
  33. Need somebody to become a legend tonight.
  34. 4 points
Getz had an awesome offseason and a terrible trade deadline. As much as I hate the Castillo deal and lost my mind a few weeks back demanding Getz get fired, that was an incredibly stupid take. Right now, Getz has done enough over the past 12 months to remain GM of the White Sox. Whether he is the long term answer remains to he seen and the Castillo trade was so egregious that I think it’s ok to have some doubts. This coming offseason will be critical for Getz as he has to take a talented but flawed team and make them far more complete. And he has to do that now with Luis Castillo eating up $24M in payroll space. He also has to fix the pitching developments woes of the organization and start building up a pipeline of minor league arms. His success or failure as GM goes well beyond the major league results and there is still more work to do in fixing the foundations.
  35. I’m not being rude. You were either trolling or just straight up lying. You said you’d rather have one of the worst hitters in baseball be our starting catcher in a do or die playoff game over our young stud catcher because we win more with him behind the plate and his catcher ERA is better. And despite your “check the stats” post, that’s factually untrue. Kyle Teel’s CERA is 0.25 points better than Drew Romo’s on the season. The stupidity of the post itself and the arrogance behind the false “facts” justifying reflect an all time low for this message board. If you aren’t a troll, which I am certain you are, then god bless your soul. Honestly, I am going to be rude now because I think you suck either way as a poster and bring the quality of this message board down. I have one poster on ignore because he is also a blatant troll, but looks like I must have two now. At least I can watch my team in the playoffs without your s%*# posts ruining the vibes. And guess what, you can enjoy jerking off in your mom’s basement to your rage bait posts riling up a Sox fan. Looks like we both come out as winners! f*** trolls. f*** Green Line. f*** Cleveland. Go White Sox! White Sox in 5!
  36. Jam ole big head up and in as much as you can, make that hamate hurt.
  37. The game hasn't even started yet don't start your dumb bullshit.
  38. Good lord, how did I miss this post? @Bonemer, I Hardly Know Her, did you at least stay long enough to watch me finish?
  39. Game 5 in Cleveland, winner take all. Sound familiar?
  40. F this - let’s win big. Let’s kick some ass from start to finish!!!
  41. We need our bats to look more like they did the first two games in Cleveland than the last two games in Chicago. More patience, selective swings, and barreled balls mixed in with some luck on our side as well.
  42. Who is this woke police he keeps talking about? Are you the woke police?
  43. Seriously, an honest mistake as I thought I was responding to Jake’s post. This site sometimes confuses me as I’m an old fart.
  44. I would say this thread devolved, but that was about 100 pages ago
  45. There will be zero heat on Getz as long as JR owns this team. The day Ishbia buys the team, the heat index goes from 0 degrees to inferno. Getz will be toast on day 1 of the new ownership.
