Now we are complaining about hypothetical errors, since we cannot complain about real errors.4 points

TA doesn't care what your splits are. If you're a lefty he's getting a hit off you.4 points

He’s gotta be in the lead for 4th OF right? I know he’s not a RHH but f*** it.4 points

These guys aren’t playing 162. 125-130 from Eloy especially would a huge step in the right direction.4 points

Ohtani still coming over to US despite our dumbass owners trying to rig rules against paying him just because he had to prove he is the best, prove he is the best, then win for team Japan in this. All time great sports figure.3 points

Trea Turner on first and they decide they need to swing away at first pitches. Dear lord.2 points

Schwarber made that look easy. Man he would have been fun to have on the Sox.2 points

Having a real hard time seeing both Haseley and Alberto not making this team. Sox would need to do some roster maneuvering too. Neither are on the 40-Man and they still have to add Colas.2 points

We're changing the ball once again, this time it'll be a bean bag except for Yankee games.2 points

This is like how Argentina is good with Messi. France is good with Mbappe. But PSG, which has them both on it, is not that good (at least in Champions League).2 points

This. Moncada is a very good player outside of 2022 but he's not a franchise changing superstar and those were the expectations. The fans (wrongly) think he's a bust because he's merely a 3-4 WAR player most years and not Jose Ramirez.2 points

Moncada colliding in the OF has me less concerned about the injury bug on the whole as Eloy “cramping” up running to 1st. Eloy looked great in the WBC and physically he actually looks to be in the best shape of his life, so it’s discouraging to see him with a leg issue already. Hopefully Moncada being dumb doesn’t set him back, we need him to be in WBC form this year if the team is going to make any noise.2 points

The Garfien/McGuffey podcast today swayed me fully into thinking Leury is done. Alberto, Sheets, and Zavala are locks. The only question is backup OF- Hamilton/Haseley/Marisnick, and the edge is Billy to start the season. The podcast didn’t even mention Marisnick.2 points

Fox Sports lists his injuries. They don't specify how many of those required DL/IL stints but he went on the list three times last year for example: DATE INJURY 8/25/22 Hamstring 7/6/22 Foot 6/17/22 Hamstring 5/28/22 Quad 4/7/22 Oblique 7/1/21 Hand 6/15/21 Illness 8/29/20 Leg 7/30/19 Hamstring 6/26/19 Knee 6/16/19 Back 6/10/19 Back 6/2/19 Leg Soreness 5/5/18 Left hamstring tightness 5/4/18 Left hamstring tightness 4/21/18 Sore left hamstring2 points

I imagine there’s resentment that he didn’t pan out as the face of the franchise superstar that the hype of being the #1 overall prospect tends to generate, so some people are just waiting for reasons to criticize him. Which is silly, of course.2 points

Moncada hit .435 in the WBC, with a ton of power, and that was met with silence. Which is fine. But then someone collides with him in the outfield which somehow means it's time to start taking shots at him again. I don't get it.2 points

Moncada and the Sox will milk this the entire season as the reason he is hitting .2002 points

They also have the best player on the planet. Their pitching was easily the best in the tournament. I was surprised to see such great stuff from just about every Japanese pitcher.1 point

Taking TA out and replacing him with .111 hitting McNeil here is certainly a choice...1 point

Wow. I have no problem with them holding some back. Creating a little demand. But that was a crazy drop. Almost nothing was available this weekend. Now that looks like a third of tickets are available. How many ticket packages did they plan on selling these last few weeks? (Yea, we usually sell a dozen packages in late February, better hold back 10,000 tickets just in case).1 point

One thing people need to realize is that pain is a psychosocial construct for each individual. One part is true nocioception that is the actual nerve impulse that carries the signal to the central nervous system. The other part is how the unconscious deals with it. For example, someone who has been in a rear end car collision may unconsciously react differently when they see a car approaching fast in their rear view mirror. This state of heightened awareness usually leads to a more severe injury if another collision occurs. Long story short the greatest predictor for an injury is a previous injury. Not just because of tissue weakness but because of other psychosocial factors. He may be soft but there might be other factors involved from earlier in his career that we don't know about.1 point

Don’t worry, it will be something else after opening week. He will play through it at 60 pct speed and with bad swings, but we will have to read about how durable he is.1 point
