Obligatory ‘Fire Tony La Russa’ post for good luck.7 points
-
I swear LaRussa makes more than 1 bad decision every single game. The old adage that a bad manager will cost you no more than 3 losses is just plain wrong with this guy. He really was the worst possible choice, it's unbelievable.6 points

Problem is you can’t understand anything that comes out of his mouth most times anyways so no one would know what the hell he’s saying5 points

Special place in my heart....Carlos was my sons favorite player when he was young. He cried when I told him the Sox traded him away but he was ok when I told him we got 3 players back in return.4 points
-
well, whatever it is, I'm sure shane riorden will get to the bottom of it, let everyone know that he knows the issue and that it's bad, but not actually let anyone know what it was.4 points

I swear Tony just doesn't actually want to win. It's just not his goal. He wants to prove everyone wrong instead.3 points

I actually think it's true. He did miss time earlier for an unknown reason. Maybe he should be reminded that an average American after 30 years of work can't even save anything close to the amount of money he already has at 23 yrs. old . His talent is a gift and will reap many benefits with the right attitude. That said depression will warp your thoughts.3 points

True, although it is interesting he's admitted to punching file cabinets because of LaRussas curious moves. Bringing LaRussa back was one of the most shortsighted moves in MLB history. It shortened the window. Hopefully it's not closed for good, but I imagine it's closed until he leaves.3 points

Yes it sucks to get your time toward FA started and to get that MLB check and per diem.3 points

Just like always, our team has written a bunch of draft profiles for this cycle. I will leave them believe as they publish: Justin Campbell, RHP, Oklahoma State: https://soxmachine.com/general/2022-draft-profile-justin-campbell-rhp/ Tucker Toman, 3B, Columbia South Carolina (prep): https://soxmachine.com/general/2022-draft-profile-tucker-toman-3b/ Blade Tidwell, RHP, Tennessee: https://soxmachine.com/2022-mlb-draft/2022-draft-preview-blade-tidwell-rhp/ Logan Tanner, C, Mississippi State: https://soxmachine.com/2022-mlb-draft/2022-draft-preview-logan-tanner/ Gabriel Hughes, RHP, Gonzaga: https://soxmachine.com/2022-mlb-draft/2022-draft-profile-gabriel-hughes/ Dylan Beavers, OF, California: https://soxmachine.com/futuresox/2022-draft-profile-dylan-beavers-of/ Jett Williams, SS, Rockwall TX (prep): https://soxmachine.com/futuresox/2022-draft-profile-jett-williams-ss/ Drew Gilbert, OF, Tennessee: https://soxmachine.com/general/2022-draft-profile-drew-gilbert-of/ Sterlin Thompson, OF, Florida: https://soxmachine.com/2022-mlb-draft/2022-draft-profile-sterlin-thompson/ Robby Snelling, LHP, Reno, NV (prep): https://soxmachine.com/futuresox/2022-draft-preview-lhp-robby-snelling/ Justin Crawford, OF, Las Vegas, NV (prep): https://soxmachine.com/2022-mlb-draft/2022-draft-profile-of-justin-crawford-of/ Brock Jones, OF, Stanford: https://soxmachine.com/futuresox/2022-draft-profile-brock-jones-of/3 points

Is there any actual evidence of a "temper tantrum" other than a screenshotted post from "southside.sox_"?3 points

Looks like Menechino works fast! What a stupid fucking call-up!3 points

Really enjoying your posts on this @reiks12 The reason why I do blame menechino is I wouldn't say any of these guys had this profile coming up. Instead they had lots of power, or moderate power, too many Ks. For a lot, but not all. Now they are all high contact, high groundball, power diminished. Teamwide. Also didn't someone pull up the Marlins GB% under Menechino? I am sorry I stole it from you but it stuck in my mind indelibly. The Marlins were 1st in GB% every single year he was their hitting coach. 5 years! They were 27th in hard hit percentage in 2017 the year Stanton had like 58 home runs. This looks exactly like a Menechino team.3 points

It's the Sale/Q/Eaton/Abreu situation, but 1000 times worse.3 points

Let’s do what Johnny says and ignore Frank. Frank sucks and we don’t like him.3 points

They needed Kelly’s durability instead2 points

stone saying we need a big bat, just shows how disconnected/oblivious he is from the real issues this organization has there's a deeper issue with the sox that goes much further than "need a RF/C/3B", good players come here to die from malaise2 points

Worst manager, FO and owner in the majors hands down. In any other team, TLR would have been fired long time ago. This is pathetic.2 points
-
It's honestly fucking hilarious that he pinch hit for his catcher with another catcher with no one on base down 4, but he didn't pinch hit for leury with Andrew vaughn down two with men on 1st a d 3rd. You just can't make this shit up if you tried.2 points
-
you're only saying that because hes statistically the worst player in baseball2 points
-
why bother pinch hitting the guy with the 921 OPS against lefties here2 points
-
Sox swing at the most ball 4's in baseball. Take a damn walk. Idiots2 points
-
Gotta get Kimbrel back in that case to pitch 8th innings....might as well go for a better draft pick.2 points
-
they block that ball while our guys can’t catch a baseball2 points
-
He's pitched 148 innings in 5 seasons and only pitched in 3 of those seasons, but you're trolling, so whatever2 points
-
Yep. He’s definitely been a major leaguer since 2018 or 2019. Has hardly missed any time since he came up.2 points
-
So tired of Stone’s excuses every error2 points
-
Bad Kopech was virtually non-existent until the injury.2 points
-
Well then don’t take two pitches over the plate prior to that, as they weren’t splitters2 points
-
Just need to send everyone down to AAA to relearn how to hit effectively after working with Menechino 😁2 points

I remember in Spring Training we knocked Ohtani out of the game and then they put him back in and we knocked him out of the game again. He doesn't scare me.2 points

I think if I was a prospect I’d be excited at the thought the org I play for isn’t scared of aggressive promotions to the big leagues.2 points

Thanks for keeping the Helms story quiet Shane! As a reward here’s an interview covering all the same shit we’ve heard a thousand times.2 points
-
...or he's just not happy about how horrible minor league conditions are.2 points
-
I would bet money it’s a misunderstanding as far as what the story is actually about. Even if he was held back too long (for his taste), he can’t be stupid enough to start a self immolation process at an important part of his career that is so far successful. Impatience can’t make a sane person do this right?2 points
-
Yet another reason to be unhappy with this organization. We don’t know if any promises were made to Colas about a promotion to AA if he “played well,” but nothing would or should be surprising at this point. He only has to look at Luis Roberts’ multiple promotions in 2019. Plus, who exactly is blocking him in AA? If I played in the 30th ranked farm system behind a terrible Barons’ team and looked at a big league club with two big corner outfield holes… Then there was that weird situation a month ago where he was on the roster and not playing and they said he was injured but he also wasn’t on any sort of public restricted list, either. Yet they brought him and Cespedes up this spring as reasons for not making a big RF signing. Something doesn’t add up. Then there’s the Brian Ball lawsuit that can’t go away fast enough.2 points

Big Energy being interviewed after the game last night mentioned how it was nice to not have a day game on the getaway day so they could enjoy last night's win for a little longer.2 points

For some reason, that guy would rather be “right” about Moncada, Yaz and Eloy than seeing them do well.2 points

Ah, another shill for the AL West. How disappointing.2 points

Robert's problem is not his swing. His swing is fine. His problem is, he isn't patient enough at the plate and swings at too many pitches outside the zone. Robert leads MLB in O-Swing% at 48.6%. Case in Point: MLB Home Run leaders HR O-Swing% Aaron Judge - 28 28.1 Mike Trout - 23 24.3 Yordan Alvarez - 23 25.3 Kyle Schwarber - 23 24.2 Pete Alonso - 22 33.7 Anthony Rizzo - 20 30.7 Byron Buxton - 20 32.6 Paul Goldschmidt - 19 30.4 Christian Walker - 19 24.9 Luis Robert - 8 48.6 Robert has the swing and power to hit more home runs, but not with his current batting plate discipline and approach.2 points

Watched some of the replay this morning. Seeing Ohtani and Trouts slashlines...for the good of the sport they should contract the angels and distribute those guys throughout the league (but within the southside of chicago exclusively). JR would probably opt out to avoid the salary.2 points
-
his swing is fine... the issue he has is seeing the ball if he just was 10-15% more selective he would be devastating.2 points
