I think looking at this, you are probably best off throwing ST invites at Chirinos, but maybe a ML deal to Vogt. There would be good reason to go after Yan Gomez, he provides nearly average offense and good blocking, but BP hates his framing and throwing, which could be an issue.

I’m pretty amazed by the overall scope of the project. For some reason I tend to like the Captain America movies the best so far. No idea why. Edit: Maybe it’s the origin stories that I seem to enjoy because the first Thor also stood out to me and the first Guardians.

Look at his stats vs. RHP. In his career, he is a .265 hitter, but with a .371 OBP and a .502 SLG% and with an acceptable SO rate. It's even better, in recent years. He could quite possibly be our best hitter vs. RHP. It's enough for me to get "excited".

Raimi set the bar for the MCU, the humor tone and style. IMO he crashed out making SM3 but he was forced to put something in the movie he didn't want to(venom) and it changed everything. I am REALLY looking forward to Raimi Dr Strange

I thought of better healthier years to Eloy and Robert and Sheets being an .850ish OPS guy and getting intense instructions on playing the OF better. Some level of effectiveness from Kopech is a long way from giving what Rodon gave them. They missed having an ace in the playoffs and they need one to replace him. They are woefully short on pitching depth and not very good defensively. If the Sox stand pat, which no one expects them to do, Soxtalk will sound like 1000 banshees. I know you aren't advocating they stand pat, but being as good as 2021 because of internal options is almost 100% not likely to occur.

I have no idea how it's quantified or how much stock I should put into it, but of centers with more than 10 min played per game, Tony Bradley is 3rd in defensive rating. He's no bueno offensively, at least this far, but with the offensive pieces around him, should he be looked at as a guy who should get more minutes?

I'm beginning to wonder if it's possible that a lot of these guys are going to sign early because they won't be able to negotiate during the lockout and if it goes on into the beginning of the season they'll be without contract for the entirety of that time and they'd rather know where they're going to play.

The White Sox have no idea how other teams operate or what the value of their MLB guys are across the league. I think many are giving them the benefit of the doubt that Carlos "wasn't healthy and they'd know" but I don't understand giving this team the benefit of the doubt. If Carlos signs a multi-year pack north of 30 million or a one year deal like Noah, the Sox will look like complete fools again because they were so scared they might have to pay a guy they decided to let him go without getting the draft pick in return. Pretty amazing honestly. Teams like the Jays are out there spending 100's of millions and the Sox are worried about paying one guy 18.5 million if (and it's a big if) he accepted their offer. SMH.

I saw a couple games and here are my thoughts: Jose Rodriguez Util: I kinda liked this kid. He's a tough out w/a simple quick compact stroke and plus bat to ball skills. He uses the middle of the field and really grinds out his AB's. It's 30 power but at only 20 years old he has time to get a stronger. He has solid avg actions and arm strength. His range is fringy so he may not be an option at SS but he can handle 2B/3B and likely a corner OF spot in a pinch. He's a high floor/low ceiling guy who could be an everyday player on a non-contending team or a solid bench guy on a championship level team. Acquire Yoelqui Cespedes LF: He has the tools to be a big leaguer but needs to find an approach to even stay in the big leagues let alone to be a productive everyday player. He's not tall but he's strong w/a muscular build. He's an (early) early action player looking to ambush the first pitch he sees. He has solid avg bat to ball skills, plus bat speed and above avg raw but doesn't make nearly enough consistent hard contact. His defensive actions are decent w/fringe avg arm strength. He won't kill you in RF but profiles best in LF. It all depends on if he can develop some plate discipline and work the count in his favor so he can consistently drive the baseball but at 24 years old the clock is ticking. Do not acquire McKinley Moore RHP: He was ok. 94-95 w/some life thru the zone. Hard curveball has decent shape and bottom. The cutter is hard w/some late break. He threw strikes with all 3 pitches and got swings and misses on the breaking balls. It's a different pitch mix and he could end up as a middle reliever/low leverage guy. Do not acquire Johan Dominguez RHP: He got knocked around. He's a hard thrower but it's straight w/no deception. The slider flashes plus but is inconsistent and the change is below avg. He has avg control but lives in the middle of the plate. He's got up and down guy written all over him. Do not acquire

Highly doubt the Sox lock up anyone at all by Dec.1st. I don't see much of anything happening with the Sox until after the new CBA is agreed on whenever that may be. Conforto is Boras. If Conforto is expected to get near $20M for 4 or 5 years, he's not coming here period.

We need a #2 catcher, but I’d argue it’s much lower priority that RF, 2B, the rotation, and pitching. Should be able to get a defensive catcher on the cheap late in the offseason, so zero reason to commit a lot of resources to it now IMO.

I liked Pina at the early projected $2 - 2.5 mil/yr. I don't know what Hahn is thinking on this, but with Grandal's age and last year's injuries, I'm thinking that a #2 catcher (not so much a 'backup') is a high priority.

Yes, until you change the ownership mindset (old boy network), you will continue to get the same results. The Sox advanced in the playoffs only once in a century of mostly moribund baseball. They were led by a GM and Manager given their first opportunity in their respective roles. This is what Kenny is asking for, giving people an opportunity.
