Kelly is as filthy as can be. Nice run in last 5. Playing really good ball. Starts and ends with starting pitcher. Amazing what happens when Diekman and Ruiz were fired into the sun.4 points

White Sox are now 10-8 in May. Damn shame that they dug themselves such a hole in April. Starting pitching and bullpen have been looking good.3 points

Good win. I can see why the Royals have struggled. They are not good.3 points

I like him but the White Sox treat him like a player he is not. A real organization moves him to 2B and spends on Swanson. He is not a leadoff hitter either. If he is playing hurt I can appreciate that but don't bat him leadoff.3 points
-
I think we should support TA instead of tear into him a lot. Just my opinion. According to some reports he's playing hurt which we want Sox to do oft times rather than go on the DL regularly. Maybe he's headed back to the DL soon. I think we all know Anderson is a good baseball player. Personally I see no reason to bash him. There are plenty of villains. I don't think he's one of them. Just my opinion. I'm not a huge TA fan. I just recognize he's not the problem IMO. Why not try something diff and support him a few more months.3 points

After Eloy returns it is a certainty that Burger will be inserted into the regular lineup at 2nd base. A player who has experience at third base can adjust quickly to adequately playing second base. Assuming Eloy resumes hitting, Sheets continues to furnish a power left hand bat, and Burger maintains his run producing output, the experiment with Jake at second base is necessary and unavoidable.2 points

Soxtalk on Sox wins against bad teams.... Ahh they still suck. Soxtalk on loses against bad teams.... Break it up they suck. Soxtalk on wins against "good" teams... Ah lucky they will lose tommorow. .. Soxtalk never happy. Team can go 160 - 2 and soxtalk will complain bout the 2 losses. People were supposed to beat the Bad ones. No matter how they did it they did. Chill2 points

Not to be nitpicky but didn't they win back to back series against the twins and reds? One can be forgiven for forgetting any highlights thus far in 2023. All that said they need to rattle off 5 or 6 in a row to "feel" some real progress.2 points
-
They should be. They are starting their rebuild. The Sox meanwhile are supposedly in the middle of a contention window. Again, I'll take the win but after the first inning they were basically shut down for four innings by a pitcher who was 0-7 with an ERA of over seven.2 points

Amazing how much better the team looks like when the bullpen isn't getting lit up. After Burger hit that double, KC was finished. Giolito came up with some big pitches. It is also amazing the Sox lost three out of four to this team last week. Should of at least split by merely showing up.2 points

Rick Hahn ranks 53rd among 77 Chicago General Managers across the four major sports. Both Hahn and the White Sox will continue to sink further baring a miraculous turnaround, as the standings below are through the end of last season. If Hahn continues for several more seasons, the White Sox stand a significant chance of falling below ,500 as a franchise, a sad state only suffered once (1948-1954 seasons, with 1950 the nadar at .493). Carter Hawkins, Kyle Davidson and Ryan Poles look to gain on Hahn with each and every new season. Three of the five current owners (McCaskey, Reinsdorf's Sox and Wirtz) are in danger of falling under .500 during their tenure if they continue to have seasons similar to their current / most recent seasons. Ricketts is back to under .500 after last season. From the Sun-Times story today (Saturday): "Jake Burger has never played in the Sox outfield, but Grifol said that’s something the team has talked about a “little bit.” One concern Grifol acknowledged is Burger’s injury history, including a ruptured achilles tendon he suffered in 2018." Nothing surprises me anymore.1 point

Unfortunately, DH is the only serious option to get Burger into the lineup on the reg. Hopefully Eloy’s kidney doesn’t fall out of his body in RF.1 point

Not true obviously. When you lose 10 in a row in April, something's wrong and we have no reasonable 'evidence' to think this club will ever win 7-10 in a row and get bak to .500. Sox fans are smart. At least the home crowds have stayed supportive and reasonable loud from what i see on mlb.tv game action.1 point

At this point you need his bat. Honestly trading Eloy should be on the table as well...1 point

Not an inaccurate picture of the forum but the forum is also not inaccurate in its assessment of the team. It’s a very bad team with no pitching, despite shutting down number 29 KC today.1 point

May 20, 1920 – At Griffith Stadium in Washington on this afternoon the White Sox would set the team record for the most runs ever scored in an extra inning. In the 16th inning they were able to score eight times to beat the Senators 13-5. The Senators made nine errors on the day leading to nine unearned runs. Sox Hall of Fame pitcher Urban “Red” Faber worked all 16 innings allowing 18 hits, three earned runs and faced 64 batters! May 20, 1973 - A Sunday afternoon bat day double header with the Twins brought the largest crowd out to ever see a game in the original Comiskey Park. 55,555 packed into the stadium filling every single inch of it, including standing on the catwalks that connected the left and right field bleachers with the center field scoreboard area. To his dying day, two-time White Sox owner Bill Veeck refused to believe that figure was accurate, he thought it was too low. The Sox split the pair of games that afternoon. May 20, 2006 – The Cubs/Sox rivalry never got hotter than on this day at U.S. Cellular Field when Cubs catcher Michael Barrett sucker punched the Sox A.J. Pierzynski which started a brawl around home plate. The game was the national telecast on the Fox Network. In the second inning Brian Anderson hit a fly to left field. A.J. tagged up, ran over Barrett who was blocking the plate, then went back and slapped his hand on home plate. Barrett took exception and punched Pierzynski on the side of his jaw. The punch didn’t faze A.J. but both benches cleared. As a result, Barrett, A.J., Anderson and John Mabry were ejected. The Sox, behind Freddy Garcia, won the game 7-0. Tadahito Iguchi belted two home runs, one a grand slam and drove in six RBI’s on the day.1 point

Gio struggled and got into some jams I wished he could have avoided, but came through nicely and ended those jams without major damage. The Burger 3 run double was not only clutch, but as smooth with his ability to go opposite field like only a veteran player would do. Great bullpen and great fielding, which has killed us this season. I'm happy for the series win and 2nd series win in a row, but we are doing this against bad teams. Let's see how the boys can do against the tougher teams on the schedule coming up later in the season. We have a 115 games left. We have 47 games left with teams over .500 Twins 7 Angels 7 Yankees 6 Rangers 6 Dodgers 3 Marlins 3 Blue Jays 3 Braves 3 Brewers 3 Orioles 3 Red Sox 31 point

When he was drafted, a lot of scouts were actually claiming his T-bar hitting style with arms/elbow/loading mechanism would limit him to big-time NCAA success and major struggles in the pros.1 point

Actually he has wronged you and all the Sox fans. Not only has he been bad, but he has been allowed to keep his job being bad for way too long. You can judge him as a nice guy but more people in here I think hate him versus like him. We will agree to disagree, because nothing will change my mind as long as Hahn is the Sox GM.1 point

Uribe was one of the three best infielders in recent Sox history. So smooth in the unique way he always caught the ball like a vacuum cleaner, solid range and a plus plus arm. That unique physique of his lol...you could instantaneously identify him hitting fielding or running like Popeye. Mark Buehrle loved him as a teammate so much he was willing to take a salary cut to allocate that money to keep Uribe around another year. And he was one of the rare teammates universally adored across white, Latin and black teammate cliques.1 point

They are taking care of the teams they should be beating / are better than. Their pitching has been the major reason. If they can win a few series against average / decent teams, starting with their week on the road, they can start gaining confidence and perhaps playing better. Their first challenging stretch will be @ Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle, than home to face Texas and Boston.1 point
-
KC and the Guardians without two Sox killers are one thing...winning out on the road and beating the Angels will prove a much tougher challenge. Would feel much more confident if the division lead was just five games by Minny (blown final game of that series)... but it's more the divisional weakness of a -9 to 11 games under .500 that provides hope, or maybe false hope. We will see. Sweeping a series here seems critical.1 point
