  1. Our illustrious lead off hitter has 8 walks for the year, that’s pathetic.

  2. I don't normally get upset about bullpen usage because it's a crap shoot, but Kelly was clearly struggling today and giving up a ton of hard contact. Should have gotten him out after the double.

  3. That 10-game losing streak is/was so "White Sox." Thanks guys for basically ending the season before it got started. Now we have to endure the bitterly cold winter before Sox try to stay in the race for more than a month again.

  4. You can relate, right? No way you’d be making outlandish assumptions about a strangers personal character just because you’re sad he isn’t excelling at doing the hardest thing in professional sports? They have been disappointing. They have been doing better. It’s imperative they win as many as possible games, yes, but they won’t win every fucking game. Calm down. This isn’t real housewives of the south side. It’s baseball.

  5. Since the start of the 2007 season they have had only five winning years. One of those was a pandemic shortened 60 game season. We shouldn't be surprised.

  6. True, but Veeck’s circus was fun for fans. Jerry’s Circus began when he replaced inherited Roland Hemond with Hawk Harrelson as Jerry’s first executive hire, and continues to this day with crony family friend’s son Rick Hahn in the seat. The Sox went from the Andy The Clown Era to the Pennywise Era under Jerry.

  7. Look, people can have whatever opinions about Veeck they want, but it's inaccurate for Elson, who Veeck spoke highly of through Elson's death. was obsessed about money. He literally saved the Chicago White Sox after 1975, and the only legitimate sales attempts were first to DeBartolo, and after the scumbag AL owners rejected that, to the Brooklyn clique. He received an offer from a Denver oilman in 1979, but never entertained it. https://www.nytimes.com/1979/10/10/archives/veeck-denies-plans-to-sell-white-sox-not-on-the-agenda.html Veeck brought a pennant here in his first season, sold for health reasons a couple years later recovering from the war injuries suffered over three years in the Marines during World War II, including leg amputation and 36 surgeries over the years. Hope everyone who wanted Veeck gone has enjoyed the past 43 seasons of their "High-Class Operation".

Dodgers (.669, averaging a series win every time out), TB, Houston, Atlanta and NYY Top Five for the Covid years.

  9. It seems every time the Sox have a big offensive game, the next game they hardly hit.

  11. Just turned on the game. When I told my wife the final score of last night's game, she said "Oh No. You know when they score so many runs in one game, they score nothing the next game."

  12. https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/most-wins-by-an-mlb-team-since-2010 21st from 2010-2023 For the entire Hahn regime that put them around 22nd or 23rd...2010/2011 the last two KW regime years. 2010's 88-74 and then the following season's 79-83 got KW promoted to the front office... well, Adam Dunn fallout, Ozzie and Buehrle splitting, etc.

  15. White Sox Starter is Jesse Scholtens, who has pitched well but has an 0-2 record. Jessie has a 2.25 ERA and 1.250 WHIP in three appearances over 8 innings in this his rookie White Sox season. Jesse gave the Sox 5 innings of 1 run ball in Cleveland, but took the loss as the White Sox were shut out. The Tigers counter with 2023 acquisition Michael Lorenzen, with a 2-2 record and 4.08 ERA over 7 starts. He has 31 strikeouts over 39 2/3 innings, but has only allowed 11 walks to keep his WHIP at 1.210. Michael faced the White Sox over 3 starts and 3 relief appearances, and has a 1-0 record despite a 1.657 WHIP.

  16. Just for fun I found the 2018 draft thread. The board was 100% behind Madrigal. It's in the former sox drawer thread. The board was really upset that Kenny wanted Singer over Nick. @southsider2k5 predicted the future for Nicky as a bust.

  18. Tim Anderson is starting to hit for average this year. He has made some exceptional defensive plays and looks like he is feeling better out there every game. Judging from lingering racism in this country, Tim unfortunately has to be one of the small percentage of African American mlb players that has the burden of carrying the mantle of Jackie Robinson. Some like Josh Donaldson disagree. I was proud that reliever Joe Kelly called Donaldson out for what he is. Who is there to call fans out when they bring their bigotry to the game ?

  19. That draft might be the only draft I paid a lot of attention to, although I never delved into stats. I do remember liking India because he had a good baseball name . Maybe you can take some consolation that if the Sox took India they probably would've traded him or he'd be right where Madrigal is now.

  20. Maybe the dugout just didn't see an angle they liked enough to challenge that play at home, but Pedro seems like he would want the team to be rewarded with a run that they earned even if they probably don't need it to win. Unless...that run would have put the Sox up 9-1, getting the Tigers to the 8-run deficit necessary to put position players on the mound. There are benefits to be had from taxing the pen of a team you play 5 more times over the next 9 days.

  25. Piersall was an overrated blowhard who many times didn't do his homework. He criticized Soderholm for being slow, and he was. But that was due to a knee injury he never completely recovered from. I don't care what Rich Lindberg thinks, Sox historian or not.

  26. Talk about fake news, how is not having enough money the equivalent of caring only about money? It’s the opposite, he poured everything he could to keep the team viable in Chicago. Then Veeck tried to get an Italian owner here who would keep the team in Chicago and build championships like he did with the 49ers. Who did the Anti-Italian and Anti-Catholic bigots in the MLB owner and press boxes across America support? Oh yeah, the current owner who worked to flee Chicago a couple years later. Turn to today, and these same bigots in ownership and media are promoting anti Catholic bigot groups that perform lap dances and dry hump crucifixes the game after the Sox leave Los Angeles, and have for decades pimped anti Native American racist s%*# in Atlanta and Cleveland. Bill Veeck gave this ungrateful fraud his last job in television. Reinsdorf promptly fired his ass and he spent his final days talking on radio to a 1 or 2 AM radio share, aired between ads for Heavenly Bodies and other Chicago area strip clubs and blue penis pill ads on The Score.

  27. Y'all really need to stop ragging on Sosa like he's a finished product at 23 years old with MLB 106 plate appearances.

  28. Well that and the fact he only had one decent starter. Hahn Executive of the Year, Ricky extended 63 games earlier Fired. Does not compute.

  29. It’s striking that Sheets has basically very similar stats to Vaughn at this point in the season. I get that Sheets is really just a strong side platoon hitter but this speaks more to Andrew’s lack of excellence than Sheets’ potential or ability.
