  1. Stuff like today is why Ozzie was so pissed at him for showing up Moncada after making an error. You can’t be throwing BP and bitching about the defense. and I get it that it is extra pitches on his arm but dude everything is bad right now

  2. Benintendi is going to go down as the biggest waste of money this organization has ever spent. I am annoyed that he was given a hit for that weak ass ball last inning that was booted.

  3. Im still watching every game I can, this is my favorite team and always will be. The fact that I have to hope they continue to lose and spiral out of control that it might force the owner to actually hold someone accountable is just sad.

  4. That's even worse. He sits there and watches this nonsense and does nothing. Has done nothing for a long time. If I was the owner, I couldn't watch this stuff for this long. He needs to do something dramatic that will help the team in the short and long run. But I am not waiting for anything. This stuff has gone on for the most part since the end of 2008. If he can sit there year after year and decade after decade doing nothing, there is no reason for any real optimism.

  5. We are talking about a 36 year pitcher that is starting to decline quickly. Some pitchers still can be effective at 36, but those are the ones that stay in great shape as they get older. Lynn's other problem is he never really developed other solid secondary pitches and relied too much on his fastball. Now as he got older and lost velocity, as well as the accuracy to locate his FB, you see why he is getting hit so hard. The last two years of Lynn being on the Sox, he had a WHIP of 1.07 in 2021 and 1.14 in 2022. This year after today his WHIP is 1.51. Of the 70 qualified starting pitchers in MLB with at least 10 starts, Lynn is 67th. The worst part is, Lynn is the highest paid player on the Sox at 18.5 million. The Sox have a club option on him for 2024, which is either exercise the 1 million dollar team buyout or pay the man 18 million at 37 years old. Then you have to hope by the trade deadline in 2024, you can move him before he becomes an UFA in 2025. Good luck on that!

  7. It's great to see Romy doing so well. I think it can be attributed to the fact he he has been allowed to play almost daily. Romy has played in 10 of the last 11 games Back on 5-19, Romy's BA was .132. He is now at .224. During this 10 game stretch he has produced, 10-29, 3 2B, 3 HR, .345/.367/.759/1.125. It is really hard in baseball to be a good hitter playing part time. I sure hope he can continue to produce, because if so, just maybe we have solved the problem with second base. I'll hope for that, but not counting on it. The good news is, Romy comes dirt cheap and is only 26 years old, with several years of pre-arbitration left.

  8. Jerry will probably scramble the signal and you'll have to attach a separate box to your TV to unscramble it. That way he can make money selling all those old Sportsvision/ONTV boxes Einhorn left him in his will.

  9. Announcing the #1 draft pick on his own network. The man has been playing chess and the rest of us checkers. Brilliant.

  13. Alls not list. If the Sox don't improve, they will be in line to draft the next Carson Fulmer.

  15. When fans start listing and complaining about players doing the bare minimum and just collecting a pay check, Fat Keuchel (oh, I'm sorry. I mean Lynn) has to be at the top with anyone else on the team. He has to know (had to know for the past couple years) that losing, even 15 or 20 pounds, would make a difference in his pitching: Make him more athletic, help his stamina, and absolutely help him avoid injury by lessening the strain on his legs. But nope, nothing; if anything, he gets fatter each off season. He could care less about his teammates or winning. Just keep cashing that paycheck. In no way can he be seen as a leader on this team, regardless of the BS that Jason and Steve try to feed us. If you were a teammate of that fat butt, would you have any respect for him?

  19. The best outcome for this year is for the Sox to be so bad that it forces changes to be made. The worst outcome for this year is for the Sox to be so bad, but the division is equally as bad to where the Sox "hang around" all year and nothing changes. I am rooting for them to lose every game. I have to. That's the only way that we have a chance to get change here. It sucks, but its necessary. Its needed.

  31. They aren't going to go full rebuild. They still think they are in a window of contention. JR didnt want to do a rebuild in the 1st place. They will do what they always do once the return to mediocrity is official, make bad trades, sign mediocre FA's, operate key portions of the infrastruture on a small budget and reward the incompetence with loyalty jobs which allows Jerry to put the money in a bigger than small market payrolls but without the infrastructure to make sound decisions on FA, drafting and developing either internationally or nationally.

  32. Sosa. No reason to play a vet if you’ve gone full rebuild.

  33. the league will adjust to Romy and find out what pitches he struggles with, that's when we will know if he's gonna stick around or not although to be fair, the league has adjusted to pretty much 90% of our position players and they've yet to adjust and they still have jobs so ?

  34. This is Jerry just "trying to keep up with the Joneses." He thinks he can be like the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox and Cubs to name a few. However just like he fails at running the his two sports teams...he will somehow fail at the network.

  35. He needs to play 3B, not Alberto. Hopefully Burger will start at 3B today.

  36. Yep, pretty much a no brainer when you compare him to those two slugs!

  39. Stadium is over the air antenna tv in Chicago so that'd be awesome. Too good to be true though. Sox and Bulls own 50% of NBCSN. It's not going anywhere.

  41. From my interview with Donn Pall: ML: In June the Sox made what turned out to be a major public relations disaster when they released Fisk while the Sox were in Cleveland. Compounding the problem was that they didn’t even hold a press conference to announce it; they sent faxes to the local media. Tell me what happened that day and how Carlton reacted to it and for that matter what the feeling was a few days earlier on "Carlton Fisk Night" at Comiskey Park after he broke the record for games caught. DP: "When we had that night for him I turned out to be the winning pitcher when we beat the Rangers in extra innings. I got Carlton to sign the game ball from that night. “Bo” Jackson went around asking guys if they’d donate 500 hundred dollars each and we surprised “Pudge” by getting him a motorcycle which “Bo” drove to home plate during the ceremonies. After the game the guys had a big party right in the clubhouse. It was great! Later that evening guys went out on the field and started running around and sliding into the bases just like you saw in "Bull Durham." The party went so long into the night that a lot of the guys stayed and slept in the clubhouse because we had an afternoon game the next day! That night is something I won’t forget." "As far as “Pudge” having lost it, I don’t agree with that at all. He still worked very hard but the problem was he was only playing maybe once a week and when you are at that age, not playing causes you to lose your skills quickly. He and Gene (Lamont) (Author’s Note: then Sox manager), didn’t get along at all and it started one day when “Pudge” got thrown out for arguing balls and strikes with an ump. He must have been out there two or three minutes and during that entire time, Gene never came out of the dugout! I mean managers always come out to defend their players and Gene didn’t do that. I lost some respect for him that day and I’m sure the other guys did as well." "We had heard rumblings that something could be happening but it was a poor decision on the part of the Sox to wait until we were in Cleveland before doing something. I mean why have “Pudge” get on the plane if you’re going to release him? That morning Ron Schueler (Author’s Note: White Sox G.M.) called him and told him the Sox let him go. That night we’re at the game and “Pudge” is sitting in the stands yelling at us! He was saying stuff like "you guys suck!" and everybody got a big laugh out of it." "I talked to “Pudge” and he told me he was going to go way out in center field for the rest of the game. I asked him why and he said he was going to sit next to the guy who used to beat on that drum! “Pudge” said “every time I’ve come in here that guy was beating his drum and it drove me nuts, so tonight I’m going to sit next to him,” and he did. He bought the guy a few beers and had a great time." ML: In another incredible public relations blunder you and Fisk were turned away by security guards before Game #1 of the A.L.C.S. I guess you just wanted to say hello to the guys didn’t you? DP: "We got to the game early and yes we tried to get in the clubhouse. The security guards who were there, they were the regular guys that had been there all season. When we tried to go in for a moment, the guard said that Major League Baseball ordered that we couldn’t come in. I thought he was pretty embarrassed about it because he kept kind of shifting his weight from one foot to another and looking down. He said that he felt really bad about it. I thought it was ridiculous. I mean we weren’t agents or a relative of a player, we were players. I could understand about me but how could you not allow Fisk, the guy who was the captain of the team, to come in for a minute and wish everybody luck?" "Pudge” left the park and I followed him into the parking lot for a while. I had tickets to the game so I could get back in but Carlton didn’t have any. He was furious and I think he never forgot about it. I mean come on, somebody couldn’t have invited him up into a luxury box or get him a seat?"

  43. 6 games back again... Sigh. Just please allow the White Sox to have a defined position one way or the other going into early June. Can't afford to get nothing for Giolito, Grandal, Clevinger, Lynn, Lopez, Middleton, Bummer, Kelly, etc.

  44. If jerry says cuts, Hahn cuts. Dodgers would take Benintendi and DFA him if necessary, if there were enough other players included to also satisfy their needs. Sox are currently at $150M-$160M next year between guarantees, buy outs and dead money. They can get down to $40-$50M if they work on it the next six months. They are not going to lose much more of the fanbase at this point, many have already reduced or eliminated trips to the ballpark.
