I want this to happen more for @Chicago White Sox than for the Chicago White Sox8 points

How does every thread turn into the same tired Chris Getz fight? We’re on the verge of signing the Japanese Babe Ruth and half the board can’t stop bickering with each other over a bunch of non-sense. Let’s get fucking amped and stop with all the damn in-fighting.8 points

My guess would be Roch and then preps in 2nd and 3rd. Thats always the most value.5 points

IMO, this NW Indiana play is nothing but an obvious bluff. The Bears can make all the threats they want, but they want to be in AH first and downtown second. Their vision of what a new domed stadium can bring to the table is all but wiped out in NW Indiana. Pritzker has all the leverage with them and people should be glad he is not caving.5 points

Bruce Levine has always been the most credible source in the industry.5 points

You called him a clown…that’s political brother. I was just curious what makes him a clown related to this matter. Seems like not wanting to subside a multi billion stadium project for rich NFL owners would make him the opposite of a clown.5 points

Finally time for a standalone Murakami thread. Looks like Santa is coming early this year boys!5 points

You’re not going to find a bigger Ben Johnson fan than me, but that was inexcusable on 4th and 1.4 points

I think they can land a top 25 player at 42 with their bonus pool space. They’ll be able to exceed $4 million in the 2nd round if they’d like. I think there are players with much more upside than Thome who are realistic now.4 points

It would certainly generate a little excitement that we sorely need. Outside of the draft next year, we need some hope and reason to watch.4 points

Hey, Green Bay, how does it feel to lose a game on a deep bomb? Bad, doesn't it?3 points

When they were down 10, they were still headed in the right direction, don’t let a few chodes in here make you think otherwise. They played like s%*# for most of this game, but the season on a whole has made a ton of positive strides. I still have questions about Caleb long term, but I want to see what the team looks like after a full year of install from BJ. I still have the utmost faith the right guy is leading this team.3 points

Biggest issue with previous rebuild was they were all injury prone, and then shockingly lost their athletic ability3 points

I would love this. I will be even further elated if the White Sox get a competitive balance pick in a Pirates/Robert trade.3 points

I don’t know what to think here. Getting colder feet that he probably sucks, and then I’d feel bad I wanted someone who wasn’t good. But I’m also starving for something more interesting that trading for 40 man fodder from other teams. Tough call. I’d probably fail the Oreo test.3 points

Side note: The Sox Sunday home uniforms should be the pope outfit. Just go all in.3 points

Your Holiness, we thank you for gracing us with the #1 pick. We humble Sox fans ask for one more blessing as we near the birth of our Lord, Amen.3 points

I'll also note, without commenting on whether I approve of the Governor or not, that he's up for reelection in 2026. As much as I'd like to see a Bears deal in AH done, him not wanting to be seen as giving the McCaskeys a huge tax relief isn't being stupid. As far as I can tell, public reaction (on both end of the political spectrum) has been unfavorable towards a Bears stadium deal. Maybe that'll change if an Indiana stadium deal seems imminent, and it might get to that point, but not right now. At the end of the day, if I had to choose between only 1 team (Sox or Bears) getting a deal done for a new stadium, I'll gladly take the Sox resolving their stadium situation over the Bears any day.3 points

If you do that, you would have to change like half the threads to that title and then it would get really confusing.3 points

The other problem with the last rebuild is that they finally had a competitive team but went cheap in free agency and didn’t bolster the team with top tier free agents. The same thing is going to happen again unless Ishbia takes over the team in 2029 and spends money.2 points
-
Reinsdorf realized he can't get his money and straight up (partially) sold the team to a guy who could hypothetically build it solo (not saying the Ishbias will, but they have the capital). If JR knows when to throw in the towel on the political bluff, the McCaskeys and Warren should realize Indiana won't work as leverage.2 points

I heard he’s taking shots of Malort with Pritzker.2 points

Offers would just be the same next year. Nobody in Japan throws hard anyways so he'd face the same questions. And most he'd make in Japan is like 2-3 million. So he'd delay another year towards MLB free agency (on the other end) while also still leaving tens of millions on the table even on the lowest ends.2 points

I think the "story" is in the video, but it's all the same slop. Bloggers and Podcasters repeating the same rumor followed by, "it can certainly happen", or "this is a move they should make".2 points

Prime Joey Gallo was one of the best home run hitters in the game and an above average hitter even with all the strikeouts. I’d definitely take that at first base on this team. They desperately need more power.2 points
-
It’s a gamble for sure, and one I would probably take if his market and projected deal aren’t there.2 points
-
I'm not sure he's that good. However he would not get more than a 3 or 4 year deal from anybody so the risk is relatively low if he stinks the deck is cleared around 2028 when ideally the money is refreshed via Ishbia and Sox can play in a bigger pool. Signing him also would give the Sox a big marketing boost in baseball crazy Japan. Small upside to consider revenue wise long term.2 points
-
It would be nice to see the Sox make an effort at something more exciting than another team's castoff. This would be a really good move to regain some fan interest at a cost that should be very affordable. I am all in.2 points

The McCaskeys are gonna have a hard time getting back the money they spent on that lot so far, I also don’t see them running around to Indiana and just eating that investment2 points
