  1. Good. It's annoying when it's grown 10 pages with nothing new.

  3. If I was GM… Okay this is Bagent Town for the next 15 years. He’s honestly played the best, most exciting Bears quarterback I’ve ever seen. He moved defenders with his eyes and played the real game. I’ve never seen a Bears QB ever do that and I started watching during the Kramer years. If we roll with Bagent I think Poles needs to upgrade 3 lineman. Tev & Darnell lock up the right side for the next decade. Braxton first sub at tackle. Davis first sub at guard. Those guys aren’t starters just move on. Tev & Wright together was wrecking; I feel like we all liked that as fans and questioned the switch back. Davis ego? Whatever. Trade down as low as you can to still get Olu for LT, lock in future firsts and grab an established stud just like last year. I think Briggs & AB are right to get that guy and forget about it for the next decade. Trade Justin for maybe a 2nd and that’s where you get a risky ceiling guy like Xavier Leggett for Tyson to throw to. Not sure what you do at 9. Maybe trade down some to grab more 2nds and draft your LG? I’d be stoked with this but that’s cuz I believe in Bagent. If you hate Bagent you probably hate this post and want to flush it down the toilet 😂

  4. There comes a point where someone just becomes numb. I’m a recovered alcoholic. And everyone used to talk about hitting their bottom. It always bothered me, because an alcoholic can rationalize anything. You can keep expanding and extending what qualified as a “bottom” I never hit a bottom as an alcoholic. I just said enough is enough. im hitting a bottom as a sox fan.

  6. I am not at the point of stating Cease's 2023 is going to stop Getz from getting a monster haul this offseason because I do still think someone will cave to the ask. But in the event that you are going to go into ST with Cease still on the roster, FFS at least spend some of JR's money to bring in 1 more serviceable SP and a decent RF like Duvall, Grichuk or even Gallo on 1 year deals. If you can't even tank for a good pick, may as well try the misfit toys route and see where things stand in June.

  8. All I know is, I'm going to bet the Dodgers Runline and White Sox opponent Runline every game this season lol maybe even parlay them.

  9. It was rumored a few posts up. Long shot, but it would be White Sox AF.

  10. I don’t know how you could pass up on four 1sts and three 2nds if one of them is the 1.03 and you can still land MHJ. Even if you’re not 100% certain about Fields, you’d have so much future draft capital that you find a QB in other ways. I just don’t think there any chance you are getting that much to move up two spots.

  11. Wouldn't that take them out of Snell tho?

  12. I agree - I actually think it is the opposite. If after 3 years you have to ask - than the answer is they aren’t. None of the top guys was anyone asking that question after 3 years. They may say are they number 2 or number 6 in the league but there is usually a ton of alignment that they are legit.

  15. Grandal threw out 15% of baserunners last year. Maldonado threw out 14%. I think some are expecting a lot more than they will be getting. 37 year old catchers generally don't get better.

  17. From what I read, they did 10 minute exit interviews today with the entire roster from like 10am-5pm, Pace and Flus were conducting the meetings. If they were moving on, I’d have to imagine they would have fired him at like 8am this morning. Now, I would certainly hope they are exploring all options and if someone like Harbaugh expressed interest, doesn’t mean they can’t move in a different direction…but I get the sense if Flus did all these interviews, he’s safe

  18. I loved the bat in college, but he was nothing special defensively. I’m surprised he hasn’t hit better as a pro.

  19. Hey if you want to believe these are the right guys, more power to you. Doesn’t seem like many of them come from winning scenarios but yea they might be the one guy that is good at his job in the entire organization that sucked ass , and surely they would want to leave the Royals for an up and coming situation like the white Sox have going on. Yea I’m starting to buy into your line of thinking now after spelling it out like that. Hire the guys from the shitty companies they know what NOT to do

  20. Duvall would probably be a decent flip candidate but I doubt the Sox are willing to pay him the $10 million or so it would cost. I don’t see any reason to sign Gallo at this point. He has proven he can’t hit above the Mendoza Line for four straight seasons. He’s a strikeout machine that occasionally hits a homer. I don’t see him being worth acquiring for any reason. I’d rather see Eloy DH full time, hopefully stay healthy, and put up a monster first half so they can trade him for something. I’d also rather see Colas get the at bats in a lost season, rather than Duvall or Gallo. And ideally, the Sox get back an outfielder that will eventually be starting for them if Colas is a bust.

  21. You somehow grasped my point while letting it soar over your head. Dipping a little bit into the Royals well, sure. Maybe Getz knew some really talented guys there. But that's the predominant well that he keeps dipping into. Eventually, because they're taking so many people from that organization, including Getz himself, you'll build a Royals culture with a White Sox reskin.

  22. Everyone has a different definition of "elite" but if you're asking if they should expect them to be better than 2023/2024 Justin Fields by the end of their second year in the NFL? Then yes, and that isn't an unrealistic expectation at all.

  24. Did he screw up or is he just a hateful homophobe? I’m all for giving people second chances in life, but to say what he said in that situation highly suggests the latter and there are simply too many quality broadcasters out there to give this opportunity to a guy with this much baggage.

  25. For my question, it's for anyone. A true franchise QB should make that big leap like hurts and Allan did no later than year 2 and 3. There is some acclimation to the NFL game.

  27. I somehow have to keep reiterating this point: Friedman's big FA before Freeman was A.J. Pollock. He made big trades and signed extensions, but he didn't sign big ticket free agents. He kept his powder dry for this offseason. This s%*# was calculated, unlike the Padres/Mets spending.

  28. Two separate issues, but I don’t believe that tweet for a second. Anyone with working eyes can tell you Love had much more of a pocket snd time than Fields yesterday.

  29. I hear you …. LH bat prospects. I’ll be surprised if the White Sox get anything close to that value. I hope you get it though! Rebuilding Sucks Really, I was just kidding around sir! Sorry if you didn’t see it that way.

  31. The 2017 Royals had an opening day payroll that was higher than any White Sox payroll until 2021. https://www.kansascity.com/sports/mlb/kansas-city-royals/article142357154.html https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/index.php?team=KCA&cyear=2017

  33. Personally, I would not want harbaugh. He is such a volatile guy that I don't see him lasting anymore than 4-5 years. I'm sure he'll do all for that time but he will not be a long term fix for consistency.

  34. I agree with all the negatives about bringing in all these KC folks. Here's the only potential way I see this working out for us, (and I don't believe it will actually happen.) These guys are actually really good at their jobs but couldn't win because of payroll limits. They actually spend less than we do. We've at least have had recent years in the top ten payrolls. Again, I'm clutching at straws and scraping the bottom of the barrel to try to find anything positive.

  35. I disagree - I put far heavier weight on '23 season than I do '21 or '22. In particular - I look at '23 vs. '22 and have to assess how much growth and development you really saw. Only the Bears coaches and staff fully know that - as they have been closest to it. Whether they are right in their judgement, that is a whole other story. But I don't think he made massive strides in '23 - but I will say a lot of his stats ticked up. With that said - after coming back from injury he didn't throw for many TD's and the offense had a number of games where they struggled to score. If he played the final 8 weeks throwing light(s) out - which I wished for as much as anyone - than I think the decision at QB would actually have been pretty easy (punt taking one this year - roll the dice and see what another year of Fields development does). But he seemed to flatline as the season progressed and a flatter trajectory of growth given what his current production is is a far cry from good enough.

  36. This is likely the future of sports contracts, especially in high tax states. These deferrals allow the player to pay much less state tax money on the deferred portion, resulting in more overall money flowing to the player.

  37. Gordon was a bad contract Cain's extension was fine, I guess. But it was just buying out his last arbitration years and then he immediately left. Moustakas' contact was bad, but I guess they traded it away Danny Duffy immediately declined. Salvador Perez became an albatross. Oh joy. We got a dude who knows how to overpay vets on his team that are about to decline.

  38. He was an under the radar guy but I guess the cat is out of the bag now (thanks Hudson). I really like him. He's very physical and super athletic w/big time tools. Where or if he goes will depend on how he hits this spring. It always comes down to the bat.

  39. Here is a list of NFL QB's that are better than Justin Fields, in alphabetical order: Josh Allen Jared Goff Jalen Hurts Lamar Jackson Jordan Love Patrick Mahomes Kyler Murray Dak Prescott Brock Purdy Matthew Stafford CJ Stroud Tua Tagovailoa Russell Wilson I didn't include guys like Cousins, Rodgers, Trevor Lawrence, Derek Carr, but could have. Including those names, that's over half the league. It's time to think bigger.

  41. Orioles fans won’t like this but I believe Cease’s value right now is comparable to Luis Castillo in July 2022. The Reds landed 3 of the Mariners top 5 prospects (1 was fringe top 10 in mlb, 1 was top 100 in mlb, 1 was fringe top 100 in mlb) and then a lotto prospect. I don’t think Cease will land a top 10 prospect but 2 in the 50-100 range and 2 in the 100-200 range is certainly possible.

  43. Yes, this is all hypothetical. We have moved past that point. You're not making the point you think you are bringing this up constantly. Cowser + Ortiz + a mid top 30 org list guy is much more intriguing, I'll give you that. An Ortiz headliner is a non-starter, though. To your last point - I watched Dylan Cease all last year and saw how he looked more like a mid-rotation pitcher with inconsistent command and reduced fastball velocity, until he turned it around in September and looked like his 2022 form again. But I wouldn't expect you to know that.

  44. I was cheering for the O's last summer, but their fandom on twitter got awfully puffy-chested and a bit big for their britches. Seems getting stomped in the first round hasn't changed that unearned arrogance for some.
