  1. Im sick of Ozzie thinking he is relevant. You quit on the team, go away.

  2. Did Ozzie really talk about Swisher 12 years after he was on the team? What is this show? A televised caulfield post? 😂

  3. I am 100% okay with this. Unless a bargain comes your way - don't see any reason to be aggressive in a year that could get wiped out at any point in the season (and with such unknowns). Lets lock and load with the crew and see what they can do.

  5. I know we disagree sometimes and occasionally things get heated, but I am so grateful for this message board. A group of people come together for 1 common cause and that's to see the Sox win. I an grateful for the admins and creators who keep this site up & free for us to use. Once again, I know some of us dislike one another but I think deep down there's a ton of respect for each other, and I can't wait for another Sox championship in the future and to discuss it all the way until the final pitch with you all. Cheers.

  6. This is fine, but why does it make you incapable of complimenting Robert/Moncada/Jimenez without bringing up Tatis/Semien? We all are well aware that those players used to be in the White Sox organization and were traded. On the other hand, the Sox are a likely playoff team with a talented young core that is good enough to be complimented without constant invocations of players who aren't on the team.

  7. Twins lose, it would be really nice to gain a game on them tonight.

  8. Really need to start seeing something out of Collins. If he can start to hit it really helps define the 2021-23 catcher setup for the team.

  10. Heuer stuff is very reminiscent of Nate Jones. 97-98 with a wrinkle and a very good slide piece. Foster has impressed me, and to not to keep the "sox-like" comps flowing but he looks like vintage Jesse Crain. Going into next year could look something like this. Bullpen and control after this year Bummer* - CL - 6 years Heuer - SU - 5 years Foster - SU - 5 years Marshall - MR - 2 years Fry* - MR - 3 years Cordero - MR - 5 years Burdi - MR - 6 years Lopez - LR - 2 years

  11. He was condescending, and took out his anger on fans quite often. He didn’t consider whether he was growing the product or not...how he might be coming across to kids at home listening? Simply, he was a management/front office/ownership spokesperson. No empathy, and he rarely complimented anyone for making an insightful point...like ever. He was always, I’m this “elite” guy with insiderish knowledge and connections, everyone else is beneath me. He was always a bigger fan of the Cardinals than Sox, for another. Listen to C-Span Washington Journal to see it done well. 90% of callers are meatheads that need to be cut off, but they are oh so much more patient with callers. Teach the game if someone doesn’t understand a point. Don’t just mock them and talk down to them and play Hero Ball for the 10-15% who really understand and follow the team religiously. I highly doubt there are many here who simply loved Chris Rongey and felt he was an excellent ambassador for the organization. Because he wasn’t. Give me a Brooks Boyer every day who is positive, optimistic...Dave Wills, same, or even Scott Merkin. They love the game and the White Sox, not just hearing themselves get the last word in time after time.

  13. AGAIN - 3 young White Sox in the top 11 of this leader board and THAT is your takeaway? Snark about Eloy's defense???

  15. Watched the game on delay. To witness Gio Gonzalez: 1. face a lineup 3x 2. Face a lineup 3x with no one warming up. Tells me everything I need to know about this manager. You’ll never win anything meaningful with him. He gave the game away before it ever got out of hand.

  20. Whether it was or not is immaterial now. The perception is going to be that his defense is such a liability (along with the likelihood of injuring himself, Moncada/TA/Robert) that something absolutely has to be done to address it. No more ignoring it, or "he's getting better/he's improving/he's making strides" cliches on this topic.

  21. Needless hyperbole that this was the worst play in MLB history just makes you look histrionic. It still can be both: A horrendous misplay and not the worst play ever

  22. Real simple, he should never face a lineup for a 3rd time. One of main reasons he was successful for Brewers is because Counsell protected him.

  28. Honestly, I've ripped MLB time and time again, but they got on top of this and did a good job rescheduling. 7 inning rule for the double headers was a good move too. There's no "sanctity" to this season, just get it completed so the revenue can come in, us fans can enjoy it, and the players get to play the game most of them love.

  32. IMO, that would be a mistake. Next year is “go time” for this organization, and Mazara plays a position where you should be able to find someone who can be a 3 WAR player. Nothing in Mazara’s profile suggests that will be him.

  33. I always thought his best asset as a manager was his ability to pin an external factor on whatever problems the Sox were having under his leadership. For various reasons you already need a talented, good club to make such a manager work and when the club wasn't talented anymore his "it's us against the world" shit was ineffective.

  34. Yeah, I thought this would be a good role for Ozzie with is gift for gab, but I think I have seen more of his weaknesses as a manager, versus some kind of insight he had as a manager. He primarily just throws other people under the bus. It might have made for some teambuilding to have a common enemy in the lockerroom, but it makes for a crappy post game show. From someone like that, I want to hear a perspective that the ordinary person doesn't have. I want to hear something that only a player/coach/manager is going to arrive at, and not someone who isn't intimately involved in the game. These are the kinds of things that both Stone and Hawk did really well. They could peel back the curtain just a little bit, and tease you with something you wouldn't have thought of as a regular fan at home. Ozzie just comes off as a twitter troll smacktalking the manager or someone else. I want in the moment insight, not in the moment pettiness.

  35. I don't wish to be a wet blanket, but I've watched Colome pitch and I'm not sure that he's the closer if this team is to win a title. He just seems so under-powered and precarious out there. Are the Sox in a place to trade for another power arm at the deadline?

  36. A lot of high expectations for young players entering into the most fucked up year ever. Enjoy getting to watch young talented players play. This season is just too messed up to stress over and it may never finish.

  42. Absolutely it was a brutal play, but how exactly is Eloy responsible for Gyorko’s homer? Whole game has been brutal. Eloy is just one part of it.

  46. The offense gets a ton of credit as the strength of this team, rightfully so, as it has been excellent this season. However, the bullpen has quietly been the unsung hero of this team so far. They've pitched a lot of innings as the starters haven't gone deep in many games. Outside of the Minnesota series, they've kept every game close. Heuer looks filthy and may be a late inning guy on this team for years to come. Bummer continues his dominance. Detwiler has been unhittable. Evan Marshall looks like a new pitcher. Matt Foster and Jimmy Cordero have looked good. Colomé has made things interesting but continues to get the job done and close out games. The one guy I've been disappointed in is Steve Cishek but if he lives up to his track record, there should be improvement from him. This is also a bullpen that lost Jimmy Lambert and started with Gio Gonzalez as a long man before being forced into the rotation due to injury. Can't forget that depending on how the Sox want to handle him and how he looks in Schaumburg, we could see Garrett Crochet coming out of the pen this season. With the battle of bullpens being a major factor in postseason play, I think the Sox bullpen could prove to be a major asset this season.
