  1. Until you know more about it, yes. Why would you take a side when you don't know the information? Why make assumptions and proclaim guilt when you don't have much information? Again, I'm not saying there is nothing there. If much of this happened than people need to go. But to assume it right away is wrong. Is has nothing to do with loyalty or shielding. It making an informed opinion instead of a biased one.

  2. Man, I can't believe what Sosa is doing and almost feel bad. In 2018 he was pretty much the only young prospect worth feeling good about. He's always been young for his level (and AA right now seems SUPER old compared to pre-COVID), and never failed, but also never really thrived. And so I feel like he only gets more attention when everyone else sucks because he'll be performing well. A little bit of Danny Mendick in him in that way. But this is a BIG start. A Big jump. His swing looks really long to me, but it is not showing up so far in AA in a bad way, it's all good. In year 2 in AA, he has cut his K rate down to 15%. That is below his career Krate of 18%. His K-rate is improving and that was the thing that initially stuck out about him. This doesn't even include the Homer + 2b i'm pretty sure, but what I'm looking at has his ISO at .220. His ISO last year was .130 and that's around his career numbers. His Power is improving. He has 12 walks this year when he only had 16 all of last year. He was walking at a 3% clip last year, and that is now 9%. Look at this beautiful progression of pitches seen per at bat: (Last row is 2022). So in summary, Lenyn Sosa has: - Improved his power dramatically this year while - cutting his k-rate dramatically this year while - improving his walk rate dramatically this year Seems good!

  3. Why do you like to assume people's views based your own bias? They have known about his sexual orientation for decade. Why would it become an issue now? Not that some of the others could be valid. This is like when you called me an awful person because I said people will die because of COVID. I know one of the people in the suit, you can probably guess which one, and there is a lot more to the story. As I said earlier, I was wondering when this was going to come out and it will be interesting what more information comes out.

  4. So if you feel that way why are you trying to make everyone declare that they are ok with something in which none of us will know the results for, for a long time if at all? It's been one day and you are trying to make ptatc say he is ok with firing someone for being gay, what the fuck is that
    5 points
  5. Yep. You have to be 76 years or older to manage the White Sox

  6. So we all should be super mad at the system that doesn’t hold rich & powerful people accountable? Is that the conclusion reached so far? Cool, I’m on board. Doesn’t change the fact that the allegations are yet to be proven and it’s premature to pass judgement on a situation of which none of us know the details first hand. If in fact the allegations are true, everyone involved in both the firing and the sweeping under the rug should be fired at minimum. Top down. If this is true, it’s completely fucked up. Even if is is settled out of court, which is what I expect will happen. But, as none of us truly know what happened, it is best not to jump to any conclusions until we have more corroboration.

  7. The allegations are disturbing, but they are just allegations, if there is something there I'd imagine there is a paper trail or email / text trail that discovery will find.

  12. Yes knowing absolutely none of the facts I think it is high time that Major League Baseball step in and force a sale of the team.

  13. That is a well-reasoned and measured response. Are you sure you’re in the right place?

  14. Do you really think the White Sox fired him for being gay? He said they found out he was gay in 2018. In 2020 he got promoted.

  15. Would you like us all to profess that we will no longer support the team. Is that the satisfactory answer

  18. Eloy is a danger to himself and to the players around him when he's in LF. Not letting him play out there is the best interest of all involved for a variety of reasons.

  20. The real question is how long does he last on the team before reinjuring himself.

  21. I'm not advocating for or against calling him up but if I recall correctly Lopez looked awful in AAA before getting called up. Dallas was also effective in his last start so I'm sure that has something to do with Cueto still being in Charlotte as well.

  22. Have you looked at his stats in AAA? Who exactly he is taking stress off of in the bigs?

  23. This kind of shit happens all of the time, and is nearly impossible to prove. Really, all the Sox have to do is say he was fired for performance reasons and it will probably get thrown out. People are getting fired for union organizing which is illegal and they're having a hard time proving it in a court of law. Courts are really a sham, as what they actually do is uphold existing power structures. There is no justice.

  24. Cannot say what is in the lawsuit is all BS, there probably is some truth in there, but if the suit does say they knew of his orientation well before he was promoted to head trainer, so I don't know how far he will get. It depends on how good his lawyer is. There may be some sort of settlement to make it go away. I doubt it goes to trial. He isn't working, so he probably needs some money.

  28. To me it sounds like he was indeed fired for performance reasons and now tries to play the "gay card". I'm not saying there is no Homophobia in sports but why would the sox fire him two years after learning he is gay? if the drug/gambling accusation was made and is not true that would be very bad of course but that someone is fired for performance and then tries to get some money by claiming it was sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or race is not unusual, those lawyers who are working in that field are looking out for stuff like that. For the sox that is very bad of course, even if they win the lawsuit some people will still make "sox are homophobic" out of that.

This myth originated in ancient Rome and is so pervasive that it's used as a common metaphor for someone avoiding their problems. It's thought that this belief began after observing ostriches nesting and being stalked by predators.' Aug 20, 2017 https://www.mcgill.ca › oss › article › did-you-know › ost...

  35. Obviously not going to judge, form an opinion or even lean one way at this point because I’m not a total psycho and believe in human decency…but what’s up with the car jacking part of this? I mean after the last Saul episode, this has Wexler/Jimmy written all over it. KW & RH wear ninja costumes, car jack employee so he has to fail some psychiatric evaluation to give them cause to terminate contract? Fucking 10-d chess cool!

  36. You specifically on page 1 of this thread said that if this is true Hahn needs to go, and yet the world is built so that if rich people do these things they have multiple layers of protection so that you’ll never actually know it for sure. So why are you and others declaring that you have a big problem with this if it happened without facing up to the fact that there’s a system that will cover for people who do things like this?

  37. If there's one thing that i have learned from watching the political news the last few years, it's that people can make stuff up, and try to make others believe it also . i'm waiting and watching to see what happens.

  40. While it doesn't sound like something the Sox allowed to happen or Hahn would say, I know very little about any of this so I'm not going to say I don't believe it either way. The Sox have really tried to build on inclusion, this would be a really ugly thing to set them back in that area.

  41. No - all three are potentially solid starters, but none of them have done that consistently in the minors. I imagine they're all due for regression, though Naylor hits the ball really hard, so for him it'll be more using his aggression against him.
