$2 million isn’t very much money though. If he’s a big leaguer at all, it’s a great signing.5 points

Parkman, seriously, go torment some other teams fans. If you can't appreciate one of the best teams to ever win a World Series, then you really shouldn't follow this team.4 points

Sox finish the season 11-8 vs Yankees/Rays/Red Sox and you'll take that in any season. 1-7 vs Guardians/Twins and 4-4 vs Royals is what's killing them right now.4 points

I'd prefer Vaughn at 1B and Engel in the OF over both of those options.4 points

Just let him go. He’s only “happy” when he’s miserable. Sad way to go through life but to each their own. It was a team that happened at the perfect time with the perfect roster. And it was the most memorable time I’ve ever had as a fan of any team. That entire summer was just such a blast. Did the front office get “lucky” with that team? Absolutely. But it didn’t change what that team did in the Summer of 2005.3 points

Most blame to TLR not taking him out sooner. He was struggling, over 100 pitches. Aren’t we supposed to have a deep reliever group, where we spent a lot of money on? TLR has to go. Keeps making the same mistakes of leaving pitchers in too long over and over, you can’t count on at least two bad TLR decisions per game. Hard to overcome.3 points

Even in a game where they score a lot of runs, the Sox leave so many runs on base that could have put this game away.3 points

Why is he still in? TLR leaves guys in for way too long to die on the mound. He did the same shit with Cueto last week.3 points

Probably then 4 ys later sell to another owner who would quadruple the cost of everything☺️ Biz as normal3 points

At this point, Yaz should never be in the lineup when he's not catching. Engel, even when he's not hitting, gives you plus value as a defender. If you don't have nine guys giving you plus value with their bats (and the Sox aren't even close to 9 at this point), Engel should be in the lineup nearly every day.3 points

There is literally zero evidence that Yoan doesn't care about baseball. Just because he's (seemingly) lower energy and more introverted doesn't mean he doesn't care. I have no idea how people continue to reach this conclusion, but defending him on here is obviously a losing battle. Yoan already had set for life money before he ever played a game in the major leagues. Signing his extension with the Sox or having a bad case of covid made him suddenly not care about the game anymore?? Do people not remember seeing him in the dugout in 2020 looking like he was about to die after running the bases? He never spent a day on the IL and played in 52 of 60 games that season. That doesn't strike me as someone who doesn't care, but to each their own. Right now it's obvious he's playing through some type of injury (he should almost certainly be on the IL right now given how poorly he's playing through it) but still gutting it out to try and help the team. Again, I'm not seeing any signs here to suggest this is someone who doesn't care. He's been abysmal this season and there's no denying that, but because he released a music video or doesn't break something in the dugout after striking out it means he doesn't care about baseball? come on.3 points

Stop watching sports. For real. You haven’t grasped the point or understand what it means to be a fan. It’s not for you.2 points

Watching a more talented team this year play with no energy or execution should make you appreciate 2005 so much more.2 points

“I don’t agree with some of the hitting philosophies from the new guys,” Calhoun said. “I don’t process that (information) too well. I’m not 6-4, 230 pounds; I can’t hit pop-up home runs. I don’t have that leverage.” When I saw this quote from Calhoun it hit me like a ton of bricks. If the Rangers are looking for big guys who hit a lot of pop ups the Sox have their man.2 points

Not that Vaughn's batted, you have to put in Engel and move Vaughn to 1B. You have to.2 points

So much so that he doesn't even know what the date is That + a LHP on the hill for Tampa but nah the idiotic manager has him on the bench2 points

I disagree. While he has broken out this season and is really mashing, If you look at his past performance he has always held his own at every level while being younger than the competition. Playing well against older competition tends to bode well for future success. that being said, what he’s been able to do so far as a 22year old in Birmingham has been special.2 points
