  4. So we blow a game, likely lose Kelly for the season and Hendriks clearly isn’t healthy. Also, I’d like to give a special fuck off to the television production for the series.

  5. They are just a .500 ballclub. That's just what this year's team is unfortunately. 2022 White Sox....losing ugly.

  6. Every game they're up in is close so the high leverage guys get overused. That over exposes the low leverage guys.

  8. Look, I might not be Jack level of depressed with this team, but if winning a lot of baseball games is an option, that is always the choice for me. A bad playoff series is better than missing the playoffs any day.

  9. Yet he still stays in the game. No wonder these assholes never learn, there’s no accountability unless you homer on a 3-0 pitch

  10. I'm behind sox dugout and McEwing was yelling back the whole time... Fucking Leury!!!! Fuck off

  11. You telling me the secret to all this is a left-handed GM?

  12. That would have probably decapitated Eloy.

  13. It is brutal. And worse is how brutal even the bullpens are at lower levels. None of the denlingers, Lunas, etc provided any help. It’s all udfas in a ball, all minor league FAs in AA/AAA. Just an org incapable of handling every aspect of team building at once.

  14. I’m pretty sure being in the park for the triple play fried my brain. I haven’t been the same since.

  15. It’s truly unbelievable and picking on him at this point just indicates a lack of understanding the game. He was awful to start, but he’s been well above average for at least 6 weeks now. Sox have way way way bigger issues.

  16. OMG...he's had like 5 in what 7-8 games that's incredible. FO will have a tough time getting that extra year of service time at this pace. If this dude can be a 25+ HR guy in the majors from the left side with a howitzer of an arm in RF it would solve so many problems. If Hahn trades him or Montgomery, someone should put his dick in a blender and press start.

  17. So much of the Moncada discourse on here is insufferable. The Sox went 20 years between having 4 WAR players at 3b. Between 2019-2021, he had a higher wRC+ than Manny Machado, Kris Bryant, & Nolan Arenado. The guy struggles to play through injuries for 2 months and everyone acts like that's who he is now. I'll never understand it.

  18. Ok all Colas hype is allowed now. No boundaries. No more “wait for more games” needed

  19. We've managed to run into a triple play on a fly ball and get picked off third base on a walk. Two things I've never seen before in my 20+ years watching baseball.

  20. Whenever a pitcher walks around the mound and slows the game to a standoff...he just plain looks afraid to throw the pitch. Lopez was a huge delay in the game type until someone got through to him. When Graveman started that stuff today...I knew we were toast.

  21. Gonna have to get rid of McGuire

  22. So thankful for the TLR wisdom to drop Tepera for a more expensive & injured Kelly who couldn't even start the season. TLR didn't want Tepera after his Astro's cheat comments and thought a torn biceps was a better choice. Gosh he's so smart! We can all learn so much baseball from him!

  23. Seriously. Stone can eat shit, he carries so much water for this org I'm surprised his back hasnt given out.

  24. First and foremost the training staff needs to go. Would want them on a pee wee team

  25. The most overrated one on the staff. I wouldn;t miss any of them if they were gone.

  28. People just b****, b****, and b**** but have zero clue who is available on game by game basis. LaRussa is a moron, but not dumb enough to sabotage wins and losses. Get a clue folks.

  30. Leury is the MVP of the game right now. Amazing play in CF, injured the other pitcher and forced a lefty in to the game, scored the tying run, and tickled TLR's balls in the dugout. LEGEND

  31. earl weaver would puke watching this offense on a daily basis.

  32. Keep thinking this light will eventually flip on. Still, can't hit for power, dumbass defense, dumbass base running, 2/3 of the rotation is very questionable, the bullpen is very questionable. Why do we lie to ourselves?

  33. Nice play by Leury. Jason just called the run a "fruitful" one. He's such a dork. I'm tired of a dork calling Sox games.

  34. I'm ready for my Rick Hahn quote...."getting Grandal back is just like a trade."

  35. Lucas gave up the same amount of earned runs in the first inning that Cease has given up in his last 58 innings.

  36. I threw in the towel 2 months ago. This collection of players doesn’t have it. I’m just here for the Tom foolery now.

  37. Lucas Giolito was the worst pitcher in baseball....then he wasn't.....now he is again......Time to refinance? Call Guaranteed Rate.

  38. Keys to being a good GM: Don't trade your non-top prospects with Tampa Bay Watch which AAAA players San Francisco is interested in Don't trade young international prospects with Preller
    3 points
  39. You won't ever get me to want Gallo, fuck that guy
    3 points
  40. If Tatis was such a slam dunk, why didn’t Preller just sign him initially? It only cost $700k to sign him. The irony of that whole deal is that the Padres are now on the hook for possibly one of the worst contracts in MLB history if he can’t stay on the field (Tatis Jr. gets hurt more than Eloy). There’s a word for that: karma
    2 points
  41. Imagine the damage he could do in our china-cabinet dugout. We really dodged a bullet letting him go
    2 points
  42. Telling Gallo to stop pulling the ball might actually help him. Also, he was having one of the best years of his career before being traded to NY. He might just be one of those guys that can't handle the spotlight and pressure of NY.
    2 points
  43. I don't even really agree with that right now. Taking a guy who is struggling in arguably the best offense in the league and dropping him on this team just sounds like a lose lose situation to me even with his defense
    2 points
  44. I just don't see any of these options(short of Soto) make me think we would be better than Houston or the Yankees who will also add at the deadline. You aren't winning a championship with Moncada, Grandal, Pollock, and Eloy way below expectations (or needs) and Crochet, Bummer, and Robert are injured. Yet at three games back it is hard to sell. I find them unwatchable/unlikeable a lot of times with shitty defense and poor fundamentals. I guess I would just let them ride it out and hope for internal improvement. They probably grab a lefty reliever. I would hate to give up anything meaningful just to lose early in playoffs. They can do that with what they have.

  45. It is a year, so once again hahn will choose to chase depth at the trade deadline by trading out longer term depth.
    2 points
  46. Robert fWar this year 2.2 . Soto fWar this year 2.4. All trading Robert for Soto does is open a huge offensive and defensive hole in CF and adding Sotos bat and cruddy defense and adds much more salary. Would be nice to hang onto Robert for all those extra years who contributes offense, defense, power , stolen bases and good base running and is the the only one on the Sox who does that (when healthy). Soto is useless to the Sox if you take away more production than you get.
