Hahn would love to trade for Rodon. He’s the stock trader who sells at $40 and rebuys at $60.6 points

This run from cease is every bit as good as that one Arietta run that won him a cy young but with about 1/100th of the fanfare6 points

Removed @Chicago White SoxS reply because when placed next to each other you can see how caulfield is arguing against himself.5 points

“They said we would never trade assets for a pitcher we just declined to get an asset for because we were scared he’d sign, and now we’ve checked that box” - Hahn, August 2nd 2022 (rodon would be a great get and expiring pitchers are a good idea given our farm)5 points

I refuse to believe Hahn misjudged the market again It’s almost like they should have had a better offseason and not relied on their terrible farm system to help at the deadline.5 points

In a twist, Soxtalk.com servers don't overload because we've all blacked out from the sheer stupidity of it all.4 points

I truly don’t think you can take the PR hit on that one. It will look so so bad4 points

Rodon makes all the sense in the world, which of course why it’s so frustrating how this offseason went down.3 points

Not interested in anybody that can't fucking spell Michael correctly.3 points

Givens would be fine, but it's frustrating seeing the Sox linked with players they could/should have just signed over the off-season.3 points

Can’t express how much good content I’d write about the Sox declining Rodons QO, then trading an exorbitant sum for Mahle post shoulder3 points

This dude literally sent me a DM last night trying to make fun of me for being angry about the shitty performance last night in the game thread. Pretty sure he’s sent aggressive DMs to other posters too. I know the internet is filled with keyboard warriors, but going out of your way to rip people for not being happy about an incredibly underachieving team is straight up hilarious to me.3 points

Your family must love how easily satisfied you are. One game over .500 and you are taking victory laps like we've actually achieved something worth celebrating. Hooray 3rd place!3 points

If it's really going to get wild then sit this one out. Maybe pick up a reliever if you can get a decent one without parting with top prospects. Don't overpay for anyone not named Soto or Ohtani.3 points

Kelley done after 71 pitches. 41 for strikes. 5.0 IP 1 H 2 BB 8 SO. Had the fastball/changeup combo working real good. Let's hope he keeps building.3 points

Ok. Kelley looks downright good today. This has to be the best start he's had since being signed.3 points

The Sox won and are once again at the fabled .500 mark, but last game's vibes can be summed up as this: Pitching for the White Sox: Dylan Cease: 10-4, 2.03, 154 K In the AL, Cease is 4th in fWAR, 3rd in ERA, and 2nd in strikeouts. Dylan's been great, but he wasn't an All-Star, because the White Sox have to win games by the skin of their teeth against All-Stars like the A's Paul Blackburn, who if you read yesterday's gamethread, you'll realize is basically the most average pitcher possible. Adam Oller: 1-3, 8.07 ERA, 22K Listen, like Dylan Cease, Adam Oller is a RHP with a fairly notable mustache. After that, he sucks. My lord, if the Sox lose to this guy and can't break .500, it should be considered a crime. Anyway, let the Dylan Cease Cy Young campaign continue.2 points

Guaranteed to be 2 GB by dinner. . . if you're willing to go on a very long hunger strike.2 points

I guess I'm overly optimistic but I think we still have time to come around. 1 day at a time.2 points

great, the product on the field sucks, the coaching sucks, and now our prospects cant even net us a legitimate upgrade anywhere, lmao2 points

Colas back in the lineup today. Montgomery in the lineup too for those with savage concerns.2 points

I know I wanted him, even during the rebuild because I figured he was one guy who they could get a quality minor leaguer for .They didn't do enough signing guys who they could trade for more minor league talent during the rebuild . That's one of the reason why the minors are a mess ,among many. Instead they did what they usally do spent around the margins with ALonso, John Jay a bunch of scrap heap guys instead of one decent free agent every year signing they could trade later.2 points

Classic Hahn unwilling to buy low on anyone in the off-season and now willing to pay full price on a guy like Quintana. This guy is Stan Bowman in a different suit.2 points
-
Perhaps, but he does a lot to help it next season and it’s possible he’ll be ready in September. I also have absolutely zero interest in discussing Conforto further with you.2 points

I thought he was lucky it wasn't more, as a repeat offender. The rules are pretty clear. Don't touch an ump.2 points

Give me a fucking break about being targeted or over punished. Absolutely deserved three games.2 points

Tony should have a couple practices on how not to bump into umpires since apparently our players can't seem to master that skill. I bet great managers do that. Get all dressed up in a ump uniform and practice, practice, practice. Or, grown ass men who have been playing twenty years, can act like men who have been playing for twenty years. Bumping him is showing passion?! Really show some passion and deck the ump. This team is really screwed if they need a babysitter to keep them from hitting an ump.2 points

Overpunished? Come on, this is one of those rules everyone knows. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bad call, it doesn’t matter if it’s incidental, you make contact with an umpire it’s a suspension.2 points

You're missing a huge point. There are a lot of folks who enjoy the friendships and atmosphere here as much, or perhaps even more, than the team. They will give up on the team before they will give up on Soxtalk. They post in all areas of the board. They are active in season and off season. You seem to be the opposite. You'll give up on Soxtalk before the team. Which is perfectly understandable. So thank you for posting that we should leave. But perhaps it's you that should leave. Bye. No, really -- bye now. You can go.2 points

They aren’t “in it”. Even if they win this division, they would get killed in the playoffs. Anybody who has watched this team knows it. We expected better and we’re promised better and this organization hasn’t done anything to earn our confidence or trust. So please, shut up, and don’t come in here trying to “shame on you” everyone who these losers lied to.2 points
