1. Think most would believe Jay Glazer over you 2. Taking that out of the equation, I think everyone would agree DJ Moore has more value than Chase Claypool did last year. If multiple teams offered a second round pick for Claypool, is it really that hard to believe Moore would hold the value of a first?4 points

The point is Moores contract is not a penalty to any acquiring team. You aren’t getting a discount because of his contract which is incredibly team friendly.4 points

Of course you won't provide any evidence, because you're full of s%*#. Amazing the attitude from a...*checks notes*...Dolphins fan lol This exchange is such a perfect encapsulation of society today. You spew bullshit, cling to an opinion that is clearly false, get provided evidence you’re wrong, you cling deeper to your beliefs, then when asked to provide any actual evidence for said beliefs, you run away. What a p****.3 points

Never understood the people wanting to cut him in the off-season. You’d bring him into the season and go from there. You’d at least give him a shot.3 points

People have been way too presumptuous in assuming Yaz is completely cooked.3 points

He is wiry, athletic and his swing is sweet. He looked every bit of the part when I saw him take BP (stood out). Obviously small sample size - but that swing was pretty. Of course I said the same thing the first time I saw Ryan Sweeney too haha.3 points

About to head out to Sloan Park. Super stoked to take the boy to his first Spring Training game!3 points

Totally agree, he wasn’t really saying anything negative, just that he used everything he could for motivation. Not a big deal.3 points

Moore is absolutely worth a first round pick. He’s 25 years old and has three years left on a friendly deal. Go look at his numbers and then look who has been throwing the ball for the past four years. He is definitely a #1 WR. This is a fantastic trade for the Bears.2 points

Just got back from the game. Seeing Ramos in person has me a believer, he’s gonna be in the majors it’s just a matter of not if but when. Benintendi should have easily scored on that double in the 1st. Grandal swinging it pretty well and Vaughn looked good as well. Overall for a game that means nothing it was pretty fun to watch. Excited for my remaining games down here in Arizona2 points

I guess the football knowers are here but I don’t know I’ve always thought DJ Moore was great, but he has been in shitty offenses with awful QBs, not much different production than AJ Brown had in Tn2 points

What year would be the extra year ? 2029 when he's 30 ? Might help if they concentrated on winning now. People want to see him not Sheets, Reyes, Romy, Leury, Marisnick or Hamilton in the OF.2 points
-
We don't see eye to eye on how Rodon sounds. Everything he said perhaps he deserved it and it motivated him and that he kind of manufactured the slights into making them real for extra motivation.2 points

Great column.....except for the fact not a single team in baseball wanted him in the spring of 2021....except the White Sox. The Sox gave him a break by not giving him the QO and he's bitter?????? I liked him and always defended him but he sounds like an asshole in that story.2 points

For the record - I would have preferred getting the Panthers other 2nd (plus the one we already got) and a 2025 1st vs Moore. I’d than take my chances on finding a wideout and having the shot at getting two blue chip players in next two years on rookie deals with those high end picks. Hindsight 20/20 - do this trade and don’t do the Claypool trade but revisionist history.1 point

Anyone else find it curious that Benintendi seems to be hitting 3rd a lot?1 point

Do people really think an extra 10-15 seconds between pitches is really saving arm injuries? To me that’s a lot more of a mental thing for a pitcher taking his time than a guy resting his arm. If your arm is tired/sore from throwing a baseball the difference between 12 secs and 30 secs for the next pitch isn’t helping anything1 point
-
We will see if pitcher arm injuries increase or decrease with this rule n place. As fan of baseball primarily, I enjoy the strategy that goes on between pitcher and hitter from pitch to pitch and between coaches, especially with base runners aboard. Speaking only for myself, i find it enjoyable to sit back, strap it down and relax to watch baseball rather than hockey and basketball. Those sports interest me as much as ping-pong any more.1 point

He absolutely would. The Bears gave up a 2nd for Claypool, partly because the Packers were also offering a 2nd. DJ Moore could absolutely be traded for a 1st round pick this offseason. In a situation where the Bears don't have a need for a QB, they did very well in collecting assets that will help this team in the next 3-4 seasons, including next season. The first part is done. Now they need to hit on those picks.1 point

DJ Moore is 12th in receiving yards the last 3 years. 11th among WRs(Kelce).1 point

I love it! I know there was a lot of talk about 3 number 1s, but I'm not sure what else you get with that. This 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and a guy who is absolutely a number 1.1 point

Moore signed his deal before the FA wr market blew up last year. They got him at a 25 percent plus discount of what he would get if he were a ufa this offseason.1 point
-
It is not incredibly team friendly. I wouldn’t even call it team friendly. WR is one position you get good production immediately from rookie contracts. See 2022 Mooney.1 point

Today was 84 and I think it’s supposed to be that way through Monday m, pretty much Perfect weather. Had shorts and flip flops on and no chill whatsoever1 point

Guys, if DJ Moore had 1st/2nd round value he would have been traded at the deadline with mccaffrey1 point

Brown at least had a competent QB in Tannehill. Moore's been productive except when Baker Mayfield was QB in Carolina. Moore isn't elite or a true WR1, but he's a huge upgrade over anyone on this current Bears roster or what's out there in free agency.1 point

It depends on how you value Moore. The #9 and #61 pick have a draft value of 1642 draft points. The first pick is worth 3000. If you assume the Panthers are a bottom 10 team again next year, then that 2024 first is worth anywhere from 1500 to 650 draft points. Let's say it's 650. The 2025 2nd is probably irrelevant at this point, but let's value that at 100 points. That puts the total draft pick value at almost 2400 points. 600 points is the approximate value of the 31st pick in the draft this year. If you think Moore is worth a late 1st or early 2nd rounder, then this is a pretty fair deal. if you think Moore is worth less than that, then you probably think the Bears could have gotten more.1 point

My dad said this last night and the only reason I told him to hold off was that once upon a time we said the exact same things about Moncada, Eloy and Robert and they've all had varying degrees of success. That being said, you can't read Fegan's Ramos profile and not get hype about him.1 point

Who cares what year it is. 162 games are better than 15-20 games every single time. Years of control are extremely valuable, especially for a player that projects to be an above average regular. Losing a year of control over Andrew Vaughn for what amounted to like 30 April PA is just pure stupidity. The new CBA rules change the calculus a little bit. But not enough for me. I'd roll with Sheets/Eloy RF/DH for a month. I won't be mad if Colas makes the roster or anything - they're clearly a better team with him - but there are clear and obvious reasons for the Sox to send him to AAA. I always take the longer view on stuff like this, and its quite possible that Colas isn't a + value player right away anyway.1 point

Maybe I took it out of context. I didn't really see a need for the story so I may have been jaded from the minute I opened it.1 point

Our boys have maybe found their mojo. Yoan 3-5 with a 2B, 3RBI. Robert 2-5, 2RBI. Yo adds another RBI via a bases loaded BB.1 point

I picked them third last year and hated it. When I look at it with an unbiased eye, I'm thinking second. But I've convinced myself they will win the division this year. I'm going all in, I've even located my Sox hitch cover to proudly display before opening day. I'll wear a Sox jersey to work on opening day (cool tradition at school) and endure the taunts from Astro fans.1 point

This is pretty much the final nail in the coffin for any extensions on Giolito, Cease and Kopech. Sale and Q might end up being the last two that go to White Sox starting pitchers. Especially with Cease and Kopech already having gone through one TJS. Revisions are much dicier, but improving each year.1 point

By highlighting that, are you trying to demonstrate that civil conspiracy necessitates a crime?1 point

...I would half-jokingly suggest that JR told Hahn not to offer the QO, as that would have put more pressure to spend money on draft picks with the extra 1st-rounder....1 point

No s%*#. Buxton has cleared 92 games 1 time in 8 seasons (7 non-covid seasons). Robert has played 56 games (60 game season), 68, and 98 games. His injury history isn't even close to Buxton's at this point. So Jack's statement was silly (shocking!).1 point
