The vitriol people have towards specific players in this organization is so misplaced. I'd bet all of these guys go elsewhere, and reach their potential, and never have issues. This organization ruins players. It's just the reality of the situation.9 points

I don't know if we're just turning this into a thread about Anderson's motivation or whatever, but golly gee whiz this is pretty darn blatant as to why his power numbers aren't where they were a couple years ago. At this rate, 3 years from now every time he swings the ball will be bouncing straight up off the plate. Is someone teaching this? This is so blatant it has to be on purpose right?6 points

Do the Sox ever do the right thing? Anyways who cares, season is lost anyway. Not trying to be rude but...6 points

Burger has very recently played a much better 3B. Gets huge credit just for battling back and persevering with those two Achilles' tendon injuries, especially the second occurrence. Seems like a genuinely decent guy... like Giolito.6 points

I think I’d be more concerned if he was happy here. This organization is a dumpster fire. Not saying Tim is completely resolved of any blame, but I don’t see how any player could/should be happy playing for the Sox.6 points

The loathsome owner is THE cancer. It is his responsibility to create a culture of winning by hiring the best available decision-makers who are allowed to bring in bonafide difference-makers. If TA is the biggest problem the Sox have, they don't have any problems.5 points

Problem is.. none of these guys are hungry anymore because the money. You know its a dream to play MLB and one 5 million a year season you're set for life. This organization has had multiple failures building this team not paying for proven stars and going cheap. Team needs a winning culture again. It needs to clean house from the top down. Needs better scouting , player development , leadership. I really enjoyed this team from 1992 to 2007. 2007 was one of the first big losing season I witnessed with this franchise. It was very disappointing coming 2 years after a WS win. The next 5 years team was OK and just good enough to make playoffs or hover .500. The next 11 years have been horrific minus 20 and 21. That was a solid core they failed to properly build around that's now minus Abreu , Rodon, Madrigal and features alot of declining and injured prone talent and guys who are about to get real expensive unless they're traded. Some guys are so bad this year they wouldn't even cut it in AAA. These players should be embarrassed instead of crying and complaining. Even with the loss of talent this team should be .500 not 14 games under 500 42 games into the season. If they keep up this pace that's 50 games under .500 with a 180 million dollar payroll. The guy is losing tens of millions of dollars each month he is not the TA of pre-Field of Dreams Days. His long term deal killed him and while it could have been used as a trade chip that's decreasing as well. He seems to always have some issue or another that is the rationale for stagnating as a player. Death of a friend, IG models, ejections, suspensions, lack of focus, injuries. As I have stated previously, 4 years ago the guy could have been the biggest star in this city now I am not sure what he is. This is probably the saddest aspect of this team for me as I really liked the guy and hoped for the best. Now he is anchored at lead off which is probably the worst sport for him in the lineup. He cannot adjust his approach at the plate at all.4 points

There are only 7 teams in MLB that are six games under .500 or worse. Of the six other teams-the Giants and Royals are 5-2 vs the Sox. Fire Hahn4 points

No one should mention Tim Anderson and the great Jackie Robinson in the same breath, least of all Tim Anderson. Unless of course it is to mock him for proclaiming himself the next Jackie Robinson for how he thinks he is going to "change the game."4 points

Tim is one of the only fun things about this franchise yet haters gonna hate.4 points

Yes, but comparing Tim Anderson to Frank Thomas is ridiculous. TA isn't nearly in the same class as Frank Thomas or Dick Allen - or Jackie Robinson for that matter.3 points

Take Yoan Moncada from 3rd, where he's very, very good and move him to second, where he's bad. Play Jake Burger at 3rd, where he's bad and Hanser Alberto is used as a defensive replacement. ??? Profit. I think I'd almost rather teach Burger to play second. Or we teach Jake Burger to play catcher.3 points

Just should've signed Correa and moved Tim to 2nd base.3 points

Minnie had a few skeletons in his closet. Point is though to throw some kind of racial argument into the mix is hot garbage. For a fanbase that worships guy like Allen, Baines and Thomas and Abreu. It's lazy self delusion.3 points
-
When you look at Moncada's contract and realize having more versatility boosts his trade value... That and the fact that Burger suddenly has become a much more viable replacement option at third than he was at the end of 2022. Betts willingly moving to SS for the good of the team as a former MVP and even CF/RF Gold Glover while Moncada isn't even willing (seemingly) to consider it tells one a lot. Not only Betts, but Lux, Taylor and Muncy have been willing to move all over the diamond for the ultimate positional flexibility benefit of that franchise.3 points

Sheets shouldn't be on the roster if Burger, Vaughn and Eloy are on it. 2B and RF need to be filled by players who can play the position. Yoan is the best 3B and should remain at 3B. No dramatic in season shifts should occur because of Hahn's annual abysmal roster construction and annual holes in RF and 2B. Any transitions of long standing players sinch as Yoan or Tim should be well thought out and agreed to in October to allow players a full offseason to prepare even before Spring Training.3 points

It really is at the point of- “what is best for the trade market over the next 10 weeks”. That’s all that matters. Except Fire Hahn now.3 points

The Chicago White Sox are 88-73 with Tim Anderson since June 30, 2021. The Chicago White Sox have a 54-73 record without Tim Anderson since June 30, 2021.3 points

For the "trying era" 1. Tim plays over 162: 91 win pace. 2. Tim doesn't play: 72 win pace. Conclusion: TEAM CANCER3 points

TA has changed, without a doubt. Spring training he gave an interview to Our Chuck and literally got onto him for questioning the players' efforts. I mean, dude, look at your record...I would say most media took it easy on y'all and flamed TLR more. Then his stupid documentary, which hearing him talk, clearly went to his head. The baby mama drama. The injuries. The cryptic tweets. His inability to hit with RISP. Whatever. I loved him as a player for years but if he doesn't care, I don't care.3 points

How many millions of dollars is he getting for that "work situation" again? I get it, the Sox organization from top to bottom is horseshit, no argument there, but as long as these guys are getting paid ungodly sums they have an obligation regardless if the team is 30 games over or 30 games under, no excuse. If he doesn't care for the situation (and I don't blame him there) have his agent make a formal request for a trade. Again his history with suspensions, flipping off fans, the off field situation, his arrogant talk means he isn't going to get the benefit of the doubt. That's a situation he created, not JR...not Rick Hahn or anybody else.3 points
-
eh, I’m sick of some of the sideshow that goes with TA, but I don’t really care what he said. If he said “I hate this place” - honestly, good for him if he feels that way. JR, KW, and Hahn have built a toxic culture upon a once-promising rebuild. The fans have a right to boo, and Tim may not have even been referring to the fans. I care more that he is not playing well at all, and looks utterly disinterested in playing here now, even if what we can discern about Stone’s comments about him not being 100% are true. What’s obvious to me is that Tim wants to be gone, the Sox are fine letting him go, and after this season he will probably sign a 6 year 70-80 million dollar deal somewhere and play a lot better. He will get paid based on his resume, not a bad season on a bad team that can be explained away with culture and injuries. Tim is a guy who plays way above his head when he’s feeling great, and way below it when he’s not.3 points

Love watching all of the armchair lip readers and body language analysts work tirelessly to invent reasons to be mad at guys, as if there aren't enough real, objective gameplay things to be frustrated over. Yes, truly, it is the players who are soft, as they insist they have been personally betrayed by a man they have never met based on something they imagined he said...?3 points

Right now I would just settle to see him have a positive WAR season first. Baby steps.2 points

This is more an indication of our woeful depth than anything else, imo. Last few years when Tim goes down, we're stuck replacing him with Leury, Lenyn, or Romy. None of those guys can hit. Our best shot to win games was when we had Mendick around to spell TA7, and Mendick was nothing special himself.2 points

Personally, the worst thing is how this team has actually played and pitched but that’s just me.2 points

Maybe asshole is right maybe it's not. I think he's certainly being judged hard based on the whole cheating on his wife and baby mama stuff. He gets on Garfien and the fans about how we should all be pulling from the same rope. He's being judged because now more than any time in the past there is fan backlash and meatball takes from every lunatic with a Twitter or Instagram. We scrutinize every incident , even non incidents. s%*# storms must be a b**** to deal with. I feel for them sometimes but then I don't if they are going to be their own worst enemy. Sometimes Tim reminds me of Hahn opening his mouth about parades then blaming everyone else. If you talk the talk you better walk the walk because it catches up to you real fast when things go south and you show that you can't take the heat.2 points

A lot. They twist themselves into pretzels to blame everyone else for him being an a—hole.2 points

There is no doubt Tim has changed for whatever mental issues he is dealing with. This is not the same Tim Anderson from a few years ago that: 1. The fans and his teammates and all of baseball America loved and respected. 2. They made a 6 part documentary about Tim due to his popularity 3. He was the face of this Sox franchise. "Change the Game!" and one of the more popular players in the game. 4. Was hitting well over .300 several years and hitting for some power and home runs His attitude and hustle is now a huge problem! He needs to be traded! I hope for Tim he can turn around his inner demons that seem to be bothering him and get back to being the fun TA, but for another team and not the Sox.2 points
-
I mean, how much more evidence are the Tim supporters willing to ignore before they can admit to themselves that he's an asshole?2 points
-
I don't understand the Tim bashing here even if he said that which is pure speculation. 1. Whatever Tim says Jose is agreeing with. I think if its really the case I think the focus should be on the fact that the two major stars the Sox had in the last 8 years are agreeing its not a great place to play. Jose pretty much said as much when he left. 2. Its been a terrible season for the White Sox. I have worked in really good environments but had a really stressful job and definitely have muttered god I hate my job. Its honestly not the truth but when things are not going right sometimes you just say things. I think it would be more fucked up if he did an interview and was like " this is great, things are perfect here". Basically people are people. No matter the money. Things get to them. More importantly should be the overall well being of the organization and why its not successful. I think that starts at the ownership level and really fails on the player development side of the White Sox organization.2 points
