  1. While the Sox were making changes - FutureSox.com has also made a change, returning to its independent roots after an 18 month partnership with SoxMachine. While we appreciated the partnership we had with SoxMachine and the whole team there, I am personally excited for FutureSox's return as a true independent, with Mike Rankin, James Fox and the rest of the amazing cast and characters (Steve Hasman (aka Sleepy Harold), Ken Sawilchik, Jeff Cohen, Julie Brady, Elijah Evans, Jasper Roos, Jeff Feverer, Jason Lowenthal, Rob Young, and Dan Santaromita (aka one of the original godfater(s) of FutureSox) continuing to do what they do best - delivering the absolute BEST White Sox focused minor league content on the planet. And one ask, this whole crew puts a ton of blood, sweat and tears into producing this content, so for anyone willing and able, who loves the great content FutureSox has been providing for 20+ years now, please support their efforts through its Patreon site. Excited to see the continued growth of the franchise, brand, and the quality and insights the entire team delivers to Sox fans everywhere (no matter how sad all of us are at the current state of the franchise). Note: I also personally apologize, because as the superstitious individual I am, I can't help but notice a correlation to the White Sox performance during that timeframe

  2. What another garbage bunch of words from this organization I'm sorry, but getz talking about the failures and gaps of this organization as if he was on an island not being a part of those failures and gaps, that sucks a lot.

  3. Nobody should spend a dime supporting this team until Reinsdorf is gone

  4. Is it wrong that I see this -- along with the promotions of Nastrini and Mena -- as bad for my favorite team, the Birmingham Barons?

  5. Said it before, I'll gladly take a smaller payroll from JR if it meant he put his money on the farm system. Scouts, analytics department, etc. You wanna act like we're a small market team? At least act like the Rays.

  6. I feel you, but right here I stop because yesterday Jerry definitively told us all that his way is what’s going to happen

  7. Diamond Jerry and his bargain basement garbage picking. I hope you are going sooner than later. You are a cancer to Chicago and might go down as the worst owner in the history of the town.

  8. When Patino gets in a game, he’ll be the 52nd Sox player this season. A franchise record.

  9. There’s no road to contention any time soon. What aren’t people understanding about this? JR fucking admitted that we’re not gonna spend money on free agents, so any signing is going to be someone we’re hoping will bounce back. The only way to possibly be back into contention immediately would be to sign absolute studs to huge contracts. It’s not happening. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t trade some of these pieces of crap like Moncada and Anderson. People just need to understand that it’s not going to cause the team to be good.

  10. Literally nothing we heard yesterday came from people who even realize there are systematic problems, let alone having plans to fix them. Our plans are to “win soon” and figure out the rest later. This is literally them insisting that things will work well if they believe in it harder. It won’t be long before they blame the fans again for not showing up and cheering hard enough.

  14. It wasn't a mistake huh?? OK. Let's look back at the full chain of events. So Jerry boy wants to claim that since we won the division in 2021 that the LaRussa rehiring made sense. OK, why did we win in 2021? Here's why. We won the division that year because for the first half of the season, Rodon and Lynn were at the very least 2 of the top 4 starters in the AL. This despite Robert and Jimenez being out the whole first half. So the attitude then was, "gee if we're this good now, just think how good we'll be when they come back!!" Well now the LaRussa affect came in to play. Partly because no one was good enough to make a run at us, he treated the entire second half of the year like one long spring training by putting "C" team lineups out there, giving all the regulars constant days off, especially during the last games of series's. He continued this stupid trend into 2022. Except we didn't have a 12 game lead to sit back on while doing this. He never would have done this in 1983. He never put out a lineup with Fisk, Baines, Luzinski and Kittle all not in it. But he did now. He defended this by saying he wanted to keep his players "fresh." Again, he never did this before. In St.Louis, Albert Pujols missed a total of 3 games in 2 years. How was THAT keeping him fresh?? He managed like a tired, old man. Which is what he is. Therefore, we played like a tired, old team. Except we weren't old. So that just created a lazy attitude and atmosphere around this team. For God's sake, he even publicly said "don't run out ground balls too hard so you won't get hurt!!!!" Can you imagine a manager telling his team not to play hard??? OK. So now LaRussa's gone. We needed to change that laissez Faire attitude with a kick in the a## type manager. We did that before. When the corpse like Manuel was fired after 2003, we brought in Guillen to be that way. But instead after LaRussa and his laissez faire ways did we bring in a manager to change that? No. We bring in Grifol. Now maybe, to be fair, Grifol may turn out to be a decent manager some day. Not saying he will, just giving the benefit of the doubt. But he wasn't the right man for this job. We needed a Billy Martin or Dick Williams type to kick this team in the a## and change this Laissez Faire way. He didn't. Instead he's cemented it. So it's not the slightest bit surprising to hear Middleton tell stories of pitchers falling asleep in the bullpen and no discipline. Now a lot's gone horribly wrong the last few years. From injuries, to players underperforming, to Reinsdorf's cheapness, to Hahn's incompetence.....There's a lot of blame to go around. But bringing LaRussa back has been a major part of it. And so for idiot Jerry boy to defend the rehiring of his old buddy LaRussa. That's flat out stupid. And can't be disputed. So I ask Jerry boy again. Why was it right to bring LaRussa back?????

  17. My biggest loss for words with it all is how have you NOT talked about playing time for the final month of the season? Makes no damn sense. They have no game plan for where this is headed and the idiots in charge can’t form a sentence without sounding totally out of their league

  18. The best is that Getz literally said him and Pedro would be in constant communication and clearly that’s not the case day 2 of Chris’ tenure.

  21. If you listened to what Jerry and Getz said about the “core,” thinking major pieces are going to be traded is a mistake. I don’t care that Rick and Kenny are gone. We know how this is going to play out. Instead of banking on actually infusing talent, they’ll fall back on subjective intangibles like “leadership” helping turn this around. Enter Sally Perez and others. They’ll patch holes with 2nd rate free agents, and rely on Moncada, Anderson, Eloy, Vaughn, and others to “bounce back” because of how much they believe in this “core” If they’re lucky, they’ll be around .500 and it will be considered a win.

  22. If JR is so concerned about "losing a season," he should have done something decisive back in April. The team was 7-21 and obviously going nowhere. But he sat on his hands like he always does. The truth is he doesn't want anyone from the outside looking at and evaluating his team. He'd have to face up to the simple fact that his way doesn't work and really never has. Perhaps Getz will do a good job, but he has JR to answer to. Things look bleak.

  23. With the balanced schedule, I can't imagine how they can get back to .500 honestly.

  24. I'm sure he did, and I know when I've been frustrated a lot of times its entertaining/therapeutic to see the media arguments from talk radio/print people I like. But this time I'm kinda like "where were you". Congrats on taking it to them know when its obvious, but sox fans who have been pointing out the failures for a while were not interesting enough to engage with, and now everyones so smart and knew what was happening.

  25. is it? They are keeping grifol because it wasn't his fault. They are promoting getz because it wasn't his fault. They can't hire anyone from outside because they won't understand it's not our fault. It's all the same story.

  30. I agree that they need to find a way to get rid of Yoan, as it’s clear these guys have been told he’s a cancer. It’s just upsetting they got rid of Burger if this was the plan.

  31. One of the first Getz announcements is that Pedro is coming back as manager next season. That is also a bad joke. I guess JR wants to honor contract so he does not have to pay for two managers?

  32. Colson Montgomery made an interesting comment something like “I’m up there every time to wear down that pitcher and be a super hard out.” Im sure I messed that up a bit but the point is he’s like the only Sox player I’ve ever heard actually talk about “playing the game” while in the box. If I ran the Sox that would be the main thing I preached across all levels. That would be the Sox way: “we are the toughest outs you’ll ever face”. Not sure why only Colson has that mindset. He’s also the #2 prospect in baseball so I dunno.

  33. This is just crazy talk. GM job is a once in a lifetime opportunity. He doesn’t have the resume to deserve the job but that doesn’t mean you don’t interview and try in this scenario. I presume in his mind he had the swagger to say - I can do this and I would hope if he has that swagger he also has big ideas. Whether they are good ideas or he can actually take an idea and make it a reality - whole nother story. I have had good bosses and bad bosses - just cause I worked for some bad bosses, doesn’t mean I am not very good at what I do and I’ll also say I have learned just as much in my career from shitty bosses as good ones, so maybe Getz has seen how bad it is here and has connections and tied and immediately starts making good changes. Note: in zero way am I defending the hire - I would have done spend 2-3 weeks interviewing and getting insights. Maybe Getz is the best after that but spend 2 weeks to gain viewpoints and than hire Getz if that is what you do.

  34. ‘‘I’ve been reading that I’ve been threatening to move to Nashville,’’ he said. ‘‘That article didn’t come from me. But it’s obvious if we have six years left [on the lease], we’ve got to decide what the future is going to be. But I never threatened to move out. We haven’t even begun to have discussions with the [Illinois] Sports [Facilities] Authority, which we’ll have to do soon.’’

  35. Thank you for typing/finding that. I just want to say that of all the dumb s%*# I've heard White Sox representatives say, this might be the worst and dumbest thing I've ever heard, and the thing that has convinced me, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that this organization has absolutely zero chance of rising above dogshit for as long as Jerry Reinsdorf is involved with it. This is the single most hope-crushing quote I've ever seen as a baseball fan.

  36. These comments keep getting worse and show just how fucking lost Jerry’s mind is at this point in time. May god have mercy on our souls for following this s%*#-show of a franchise.

  37. Why would you openly wave the white flag and say we’re not going to try and land big free agents??? Who is going to want to play for this team? Even if you’re not going to spend money, just lie and pretend! The MLB needs to do something and take this away from Renisdorf. He’s openly sabotaging this storied franchise.

  39. " As far as I can tell, the only reason to hate Getz is that Jerry Reinsdorf likes him and that he doesn't come from a different organization." How can you say this?? Getz was in charge of the Sox minor league program, and Sox minor leagues is one of, if not, the worst in MLB. Horrible drafting; horrible Latin player drafting outside of Cuba, horrible skill and fundamental development (Good God, we see this every night!), and the worst of all is our minor league pitching, the laughing stock of the minors. Our horrilbe minor leagues were a anchor helping to pull down the rebuild, not the main cause, but an anchor. And Jerry hires the guy that has been in charge of that for seven year. How? How? How? How can you hire this guy at all and also hire him without interviewing anyone else. This is ten time worse than LaRussa. This is just so depressing. I'm like a few guys have menitioned above. I will keep watching and go to a couple games, no matter what. The Sox are my team. But this really hurts.

  40. Now is the time you make a point White Sox fans. Enough with the Twitter warriors. Make it hurt. DO NOT INVEST ANOTHER SINGLE DOLLAR FOR FUTURE TICKETS. Especially you season ticket holders, you can make it hurt. I dumped mine at renewal this time last year, DO THE SAME!?

  41. I’m not even kidding this site should draft a letter to send to the commissioner about forcing him to sell, put that s%*# online and have everyone sign it as a petition, and just keep embarrassing this dude every year until he is gone via choice or via shedding the mortal coil

  42. Tony La Russa got revenge and the last laugh on Kenny and Rick. Chris just wanted a promotion. Seems like he could be a nice person, but he is out of his element, and that was before he started answering questions.
