  1. They are so close to competing in 2024. Getz just has to get 24 players.

  2. I too wish he would have retained KW as the GM. We'd be losing, but you would feel good about it at least.

  3. Trading Burger was nuts. I have yet to meet any White Sox fan who liked him being moved. He filled the hole of third base for the team. We're now stuck with Moncada for another year. Burger has already hit 28 home runs this year. Moncada won't hit 28 home runs the rest of his career. I was hoping that Burger would be the starting third baseman and Moncada would be released. The Cubs released Jason Heyward this past off season and ate his last year of his big contract. The White Sox should of done the same thing with Moncada. It said in todays paper that Moncada wants to stay here next year. Unfortunately we are stuck with him for another year. He has no power anymore. I have no doubt in my mind that 2024 will be the last year of Moncada in MLB. We received a sore arm pitcher for Burger. Hopefully that pitcher will help the team next year. Hahn traded Tatis Jr, Madrigal and now Burger. Three good hitters and has received nothing in return for them. This team has scored 3 or less runs in more than half of their games. It has trouble hitting and scoring runs. If Hahn hadn't trade these 3 players we would be scoring more runs. Hahn was either baseball stupid or wanted to hurt the team intentionally. Him being a lifelong Cubs fan, I wouldn't of put it past him.

  4. You just pulled the bolded text straight out of your ass. Please provide some evidence that they hired Getz because he was white, passing up more qualified black candidates. Put up, or shut up because you're acting outlandish (and racist, frankly). There are so many reasons to dislike the Getz hire, I have no clue why you would choose to make his skin color the focus of your ire. Race baiting is tiresome.

  5. I was just doing some research on Roland Hemond trying to find some historical information and a number of the stories talked about his days with the Sox in the early 1970's and what he did in the early 1980's. The thought hit me and made me so wistful for those days when summers were fun, the Sox were worth supporting and the players they had seemed to give a damn. Not like the absolute s%*#, incompetence, dysfunction and ineptness that permeates all the way from top to bottom in this organization today. It just turns my stomach and makes me ill.

  6. What has Grifol done to deserve another season? This team is obviously lying when they say they think they can compete next season. If they really thought that, there is no way they would be bringing back Pedro.

  7. When Renteria was here. The team played for him.

  8. Getz made a huge mistake day 1 announcing Pedro return, clubhouse knows nothing changing from what it is now. Players are comfortable in mediocrity and it shows.

  9. The Red Sox knew something about this guy. The White Sox always think they can outsmart some of these organizations in trades. A lot more investment in baseball intelligence is needed on the south side.

  10. You cannot trade a 2.5-3.0 WAR player for a single minor league pitcher. The bust rate is way too high for that. We quite literally picked up pitchers off the scrap heap that were better prospects at one point than Eder will ever be. Eder could be a rule 5 victim by this time next year.

  13. I really wish they would've traded him for something. I'm sick of watching Bummer suck.

  14. What is your fascination with sham interviews? And why are you singling out JR? Every MLB GM is a white male with 2exceptions? And where did one get her first opportunity in baseball? JR has had minority managers , a black executive for almost 25 years, as well as other minority and women employees holding key positions. Getz doesn’t deserve the job, I will give you that, but are you going to be happy when the Mets line up a black man to interview after the season and then name Stearns their president?

  15. At the same time, you can’t hold a 27 year old with a history of serious injury who is putting up 2.5 WAR when your team is on pace for 100 losses and has basically no support coming from the minors in the next 2 years. You can argue with the return I get that, holding him and letting him hit 2 dingers to make this a 10-2 loss and then having his trade value gone by the time the team is actually back to .500 doesn’t interest or excite me.

  16. It was a horrible game tonight. Terrible baseball fundamentals. I can’t believe that JR/Getz want to bring Grifol back for next season after this s%*# show of a season.

  17. So now we’re just giving him war to justify not liking the trade? Big deal, he’s at 1.9 thanks to a totally unsustainable run with us. It’s ok to believe in that but already give up on a prospect. Sounds right.

  18. Burger hit two home runs tonight for the Marlins, hitting 3 rd and reaching 30 homers. One of the worst Hahn/Williams trades and a farewell middle finger to Sox fans.

  19. He's a symptom of the disease. I don't give a s%*# that he's a first year manager. He was hired to manage a supposed CONTENDER. I also don't give a s%*# that he might figure it out in a few seasons. It's just more prototypical White Sox BULLSHIT. He never should have been hired. You also don't need a few seasons to see he has no leadership ability, and none of the players respect him. NOTHING has changed for the positive with this team since he was hired. He has only gotten worse. I'm glad Detroit is embarrassing them. They deserve it.

  20. It’s not Grifol fault…he’s a first year manager. Give him a few seasons to figure this s%*# out. If we’re still losing a 100 games a season come 2025, then maybe you let him go. Until then everybody should get wayyyyyyyyyyy off his back.

  21. I like that he was moved. I don’t believe in him as a player and would much rather have the chance of a starting pitcher.

  22. Wait until you hear about Crede, Rowand, AJ, Buerhle and Anderson. Those guys were hammered drunk their entire White Sox career. Buerhle even pitched in the World Series hammered.

  26. The crazy thing is the perception is always that Banks sucks and Bummer's the much better pitcher, but you wouldn't know it from looking at their numbers. That said, Bummer keeps getting thrown into high leverage situations regardless of the results or reverse splits.

  28. I keep wondering why on earth they insist on bringing Bummer in from the pen. Every time I see him on the mound, I automatically assume he'll give up runs, and probably lose the game. Just like today. I wish they had traded him in July. Worthless. I know he's a lefty, but so are Banks and Peralta.

  29. Trading a 3 WAR player with 5 years of control for ONE pitching prospect that is a complete question mark is definitely a bad trade.

  32. Ah those good old days when we played 500 ball last year seems like forever

  33. One thing Bummer had going for him before was that he did not give up the long ball....that's no longer the case.

  34. Kopech needs to be shut down for the rest of the year to get his mental approach working again. He needs another break like he took in 2020 (of course that may be part of the problem, he costs himself valuable time pitching)

  36. Since the vote of confidence for Pedro, this offense has been very anemic. They sure do love playing for him.

  37. It’s time to shut down Kopech. Something is clearly wrong here.

  38. And the White Sox are looking at a long rebuilding, hence why I still have no problem with the concept of moving a guy who you agree probably won’t have a long career.

  39. like AJ said, the Sox never hit on minor league prospects that aren't first rounders. they aren't going to be competitive at the big league level until they tear down the entire farm infrastructure and start over.

  40. If there was ever a player who was going to up the effort in a contract year its Yoan Moncada.

  41. Yes, because that’s what all of our problems were with Rick Hahn, too much interference from the computer. I mean, their staff is loaded with people that have strong histories of success and it isn’t like their staff is legitimately 4x too small so no one is overworked. But, I’m sure Getz has a plan to talk to Reinsdorf in the future about about this and I’m sure it will be totally effective.

  42. As much as I disliked RR he may have been a good fit for the time and possibly got better as a manager. Tony not so. Odd for a HOF manager to walk a player with 1-2 count. You'd think some of the things he did was from dimentia. Maybe the Yermin incident did more harm than thought. I don;t ever recall a manger ever doing that.
