And here’s to you, Chuckie Robinson, Pedro loves you more than you will know.6 points

I’d be shocked if Kelenic were involved. I also don’t think it’s the Braves. It would’ve been done already if it were going to be Atlanta imo.5 points

He’s gonna end up getting two centers (basketball), two more centers (football), another center (hockey), and one more center (soccer? Are there centers in soccer?) I don’t know what this post is.3 points

Realistically I assume Getz will take the best package available, positions be damned.3 points

And good luck trying to win games at GRF in the summer with pitching and defense when the park plays small.3 points

You know Tony, there is one sure fire way to convince everyone you’re not part of the decision-making process, and that’s to go the f*** away and never have any contact with this team again…3 points

So the key figure in this is Jerry. In reading the article you posted, on the topic of how insanely bad not only the organization is, but specifically the minor league system and depth…Jerry decided the best man to run the entire organization was the teams minor league director the last 7 years. Jerry has also made the decision to continue to use TLR as an advisor for “baseball matters.” I think it’s perfectly reasonable for fans to call into question the individuals Jerry surrounds himself with, given their historically bad track record, no?3 points

Dye, Crede, Pods creating havoc at the top, AJ being AJ, they were way more than “Konerko, Rowand, and Iguchi” offensively.2 points

Pods/Iguchi first half...Konerko Crede Dye Everett AJ Uribe just enough pop.2 points

The 05 Sox were 5th in baseball in homers. They had 7 guys with 15+ homers. Obviously not a juggernaut offense by any means, but they got decent production up and down the lineup. Definitely not what I would call a “Konerko, Rowand, and Iguchi” offense.2 points

I love Ramos, but he does not belong in the same sentence with Montgomery, let alone Robert. Robert is a superstar, Montgomery is a guy who has to pan out or they are screwed. Ramos is a guy trying to sneak into the Top 100, who may or may not end up a first division regular. This org needs impact bats. Especially if this is all Vaughn ever becomes.2 points

Haven’t we learned that banking on prospect bats to pan out is a bad strategy? Yes, they can definitely use more pitching, but they need SO many more bats to go with Colson and Ramos.2 points

Ugh....that could blow up in their faces. Too much risk. They have to make a deal before ST.2 points

It should be readily apparent to every White Sox front person that power is what wins at the Rate. I’m not going to overreact to the fact Getz is prioritizing defense with his filler signings since generally speaking defense is much cheaper to acquire. That being said, the Cease trade will be very telling of what Getz is thinking long term.2 points

In a perfect world we would have run prevention (pitching & defense) + run production (power & manufacturing runs), but nothing is perfect. The good to great teams have a balance. Pitching & defense keep you in games, but scoring runs wins. That’s at least how I like to think of it. If we were building up a system from scratch with multiple means of finding pitching and hitting, I might focus more on the pitching part. But with only one shot to infuse high end talent into a mostly barren system, I’m choosing bats first.2 points

You win by scoring more runs than the other guys. If you do that by winning 1-0 or 10-9, it doesn't matter. That said, get bats in return as headliners and develop the pitchers you get as secondary pieces.2 points

Quite sad how in the worst division in baseball, the Sox will clearly have the least amount of talent2 points

That 2006 team was better on paper too. I’m still mad how they finished that season.1 point

They had the best balanced offense I could remember...among the top quarter of the league in home runs, stolen bases, sacrifice bunts, infield hits and sacrifice flies. They could beat you with a blast, a bloop or a bunt.1 point

Hoping Boston's offer wins out to put pressure on the O's. Baltimore needs to be a motivated buyer already. Edit - or NYY. Preferably an AL East team.1 point

I agree with this. If the best 3 are pitchers, they can certainly be flipped right over to a team looking for that in exchange for their 2B/OF LHH prospect.1 point

I think Getz would be limiting the return by going pitching heavy. Get the best 3 guys from one system even if the 3 are all pretty equal. If Baltimore is keeping Cowser,Kjerstad, Holiday, I think a package of Coby Mayo, Dylan Beavers, Ortiz or Norby, Hall. Just take the best guys, no need to focus on pitching. You can trade Robert later for pitching. I'd love me some Andrew Painter after he heals up. Beavers is a savage you havent heard much about yet. Power hasn't shown up in games yet and that's good. Underestimate him for now. He's just 22 . Did well in A+, even better but less ABs (134) in AA in 2023.Tall, lean muscle , room to grow, gun for an arm, great swing. I think he's primed for a big season this year . Not sure he'll be back in AA to start the season. Probably won't stick in CF but ideal for RF. Reminds me physically a bit of Bellinger , his swing looks smoother not as violent probably not as good a fielder or runner , maybe a better arm.1 point

You're looking at 2024 as the end product of a plan, which is the wrong idea. I wouldn't be surprised if Getz is working on a 3 year plan of a remodel. Remodel as in, they leave up one wall with the electric box connection for tax purposes after the rest of the structure was demo-ed1 point

White Sox would never have the vision to pull something like that off... as early as the kid being in high school in Japan, he was on their radar with his destiny written in the stars seemingly. Then when things didn't align six years ago...they still had the foresight to wait for the right moment to strike.1 point

Let's be honest. Outside of a Robert, Cease, maybe a few other guys that people are hoping improve (like Vaughn), this roster is a garbage heap. It's a 95+ loss team.1 point
