  1. Who cares, the bat hasn’t translated. Not enough power for someone lacking in so many other skills.
  2. Just got home, and the box score certainly looks good for Kopech. Unfortunately after skimming through these comments it appears his career is over and he’s changing professions.
  3. Colas ran 200 feet from RF to back up a high pop-up. Seems to have a much better attitude this spring. But can he ever get past his offensive weaknesses?
  4. Yeah, how about building a team before talking about building another ballpark.
  5. Get a winning team first. Then we'll talk.
  6. The fact that MLB.tv isn't free during Spring Training still boggles my mind. I'll have to follow along on Game Day until T-Mobile gives out the free MLB.tv on 3/26 :/
  7. The Richmond book has the original 1986 HOK rendering for Camden Yards (below), which looks strikingly like New Comiskey - symmetric dimensions, steep upper deck, bleachers between the foul poles, decorative latticework in the outfield, and an exterior that's nothing but ramps. Maybe they showed the Sox this version, because it's pretty much what they built in Chicago. There's also a revised 1987 CY rendering that's essentially the same thing, but the warehouse is preserved in right field. It wasn't until 1988 that HOK began to add the retro features to Camden Yards. But New Comiskey was already under construction by then, so I'm not sure how Reinsdorf could have seen it and rejected it. I'll be curious to hear what your source says.
  8. Its going to be a good year for the White Sox. 85 wins!!!!

It’s not who earns a spot in spring training, it’s who we’ve already decided will be on the roster. That’s basically what he’s saying. The guy can’t stop tripping himself up.

At the end of the day, it’s probably not going to be who had the best stats in the spring,” Grifol said. “It’s going to be on who helps us win many different ways off the bench.” That is really a quote? God this guy sucks, how about the stats in the regular season for the last three years? Does that count
  11. He's -7 RAA as a 1B in about 1500 innings and that's relative to only other 1B. It ain't exactly like he's a crumulent big league 1B either. He's another glorified DH that can't hit.
  12. I swear, since last year started, it feels like the Sox all use wood bats and the opposition uses aluminum.
  13. Being one of the worst base runners in baseball has hurt him as well.
  14. It's only the entire reason he has negative WAR, but whatever, who cares.

I noticed it immediately, I had to do a double take I didn't think it was Eloy at first
  16. It’s…Sox Math…if you will.
  17. It’s his first outing, went as well as can be expected. Hope he (and Crochet) can build on their outings and take a big step up this season.
  18. His first start in the big leagues (although adrenaline might've played a factor for sure) he hit 100+ a few times and had incredible spin.
  19. Well, biggest thing I’m hoping for this year is announcement of a new stadium. That would be the best outcome for anything that could happen this year.
  20. How many “I’m done with the Sox” comments do we need from them? Holmes is the worst of the bunch now. Can he go to Detroit with Benetti?
  21. Cmon man, its not a Vegas trip if you aren't wasting your money.
  22. People will be focused on Kopech’s fastball, but I’m more interested to see if he has a competent slider. It was god awful last year.

Then it is up to Getz to impress upon him that it's either do as he is told, or get fired.
  24. Don't waste time or money on the White Sox. Do something cool like hike in Red Rock Canyon!

This is the problem with retaining a coach who clearly sucks. Even someone as delusional as Grifol recognizes that he’s on the hot seat. He's in survival mode. His decisions are going to be based on what he deems best in the short-term, because that's all he's guaranteed to be here for. Finding out what we have in Colas, Sosa, Lee, etc. and being patient through their growing pains is what's best long-term (heck, probably short-term as well), but Pedro likely sees it as a one-way ticket out of town.
  26. Last years team was more talented than this years team and they won 61 games. I have a hard time seeing a path that is over 65 wins, especially when you consider anyone who is doing fairly well will most likely be traded halfway through the season.
  27. I'm hoping playing the defensive scrubs who can't score is better than playing the non-defensive scrubs who also can't score. I took the over since I got + odds and just hoping they can at least barely squeak it out at 64 or 65.
  28. Should've named the thread K.C. vs. K.C. 2.0
  29. I'm taking a vacation to Louisiana in 3 weeks and we are trying to go see LSU vs Florida on Sunday 3/24. Apparently Jac Caglianone is their Sunday starter. I'm really hoping we can go, but tickets are expensive considering I'm the only baseball fan in the group.
  30. 24-27 Sox record against KC last three years. Incredible sustained suckagery.

If Moustakas (35), Pillar (35) and Mendick (30) are all on the Opening Day roster, fire Chris Getz. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/white-sox-2024-opening-day-roster Pedro is a dipstick, but assuming Tony is not running the show, Getz is at minimum enabling this behavior and likely in agreement. You have the next two years to see what, if anything, you have with Colas (25), Sosa (24), Lee (25), Shewmake (26), DeLoach (25), perhaps Burdick (27). I'm not advocating for starting the clock on the top prospects who will benefit from more time in AA/AAA, but for these guys, you can perhaps get a solid player out of one or two of these guys if you play them regularly and work correcting any deficiencies. it's not the time to "win many different ways" with AARP guys with no upside or trade value. It's bad enough they are going with both Maldonado (37) + Stassi (33), Lopez (29) and DeJong (30).
  32. Re other totals, baseball totals is the one sport I like playing unders. My lock is St Louis under 85.5. They won't be any better. I wonder if I can find some odds that they go under 70. Seattle got worse over the offseason. Under 86.5.
  33. Under. Sox have bad luck. Too bad they still don't play divisional foes 19 times. The non divisional teams will mash the Sox.

Pedro / Tony / Getz Decision Tree: White Sox Organizational Philosophy on who should field a baseball Correct Answer: The player with more MLB service time, regardless of the circumstance. Tie breaker: If service time is the same, the tie goes to whichever player looks more like David Eckstein.
  35. What the F kind of stupid post is this. Now we're associating Tim with being a gangster......... The stupidity amazes me! BUT it shouldn't
