  1. This is an outrage! Oh man, am I underpaid for my work.

  2. 1.5 million and he gets to go sit and home and jerk off instead of doing any work. I can't stress enough what a moronic signing this way. You bring back a guy 99.995% of the fanbase can't stand, and on top of that everybody knew he sucked and was washed except our brilliant "ripping up the floorboards" GM only to cut him three weeks into the season. Might as well sign Bauer at this point and have a "violence against women" night at the park that will do it!

  3. I think I have developed Stockholm Syndrome....I looked at the box score and saw the Sox 4-12 record and thought "that's not too bad"

  4. So we eat his salary another genius Getz move bringing him in

  5. I wanted so badly to like him….he’s not good

  6. When the Sox hired Tony, I spent a lot of time talking about him losing the team and players, but even I didn't expect literally everyone of substance to simultaneously forget how to play baseball.

  7. No reason for Palacios to get here.... Baldwin can play.

  8. How about Stone saying it took a perfect throw to get him?

  10. And instead we got a package that was soundly decried when the trade happened, and has gotten worse looking with time. Heck of a victory lap there. You're doing a great job Getzy.

  11. So if no other front offices think the Sox are worth mentioning, despite all of the changes that they all can see personally in their work, and observe their work on a professional level that none of us can, that their point of view should be invalidated because their first hand observations aren't valid yet? It's wild how no one can judge anything happening in the White Sox organization, unless it is positive. We can sit and listen to being told that the changes they have made are so important by the media, and that is valid, but the people the Sox front office is literally competing against on a day to day basis can't. That's crazy.

  12. I wouldn't expect an organization that just tore up the floor boards and embarked on a rebuild to receive any votes for "best front office". It's going to take a while for Getz & Co. to settle in and develop a reputation.

  13. They obviously didn't speak to Gene Watson who said the White Sox front office is the best in baseball.

  14. This attendance talks means nothing to me. When jerry decides to put a product worth watching the RATE will have fans that come and watch. Many are like me right now where they refuse to give Jerry our money until he decides he gives a Flying F about the product on the field.

  15. This team is one fire: through 17 games last year we are 2-15 -- this year we literally have 100% more wins at 4-13. Suck it Getz haters.

  16. in other news howd the Bulls postseason push go? Didn't a certain poster say the team was different?

  17. Getz has really stacked this roster with talent.

  18. Thrilling story and reporting here tonight at this game.

  19. Outman and Bruns is laughable. Outman sucks and Bruns, while having a great arm, will never materialize into a starting pitcher. Dodgers tried to hone in his command and while it has improved some, just not enough to project him to anything more than a reliever at this point. So Dodgers are gonna send out two failed prospects? Robert needs to start hitting to drive up his value, but this is a dumbass trade.

  20. Did I say he should be fired for that? The point is that Getz just signed these guys over the offseason for $1 to $1.5 million, they have barely pitched for the team, and he has already DFA’ed all three of them. Sure, that’s a minimal amount of money for a one year deal but it all adds up to waste. It also shows that not one other team in the MLB values adding any of these guys to their roster over the pitchers they already have.

  21. Agreed with this. While some will say "real fans die hard", the truth is the white sox fan base has been beaten to death by poor ownership. At this point, going to the game says nothing about the strength of your fandom.

  22. To be fair predicting your own posts isn't really impressive.

  23. This is true but what may also be true is if all these "changes" to the organizational structure, the bringing in of all these people from outside the organization were so meaningful, you'd think they'd get at least a vote or two wouldn't you?

  24. Shocking, right? Assembling the worst team in modern history can't be good for one's reputation around the league.

  25. I'm shocked running player development for years in an org right before they were the worst team of all-time wasn't enough to get a vote or 2.

  26. Yeah - wouldn't it suck to have a team incapable of keeping its cornerstone position players healthy and contributing? I can't possibly imagine what that would be like. It must be disappointing.

  27. With how Robert looked last year and has looked so far this year a team would be nuts to give up anything more than a lottery ticket for him.

  28. The Sox are six feet under in baseball hell. How could it possibly get any worse?

  29. I feel like the A’s have been pretty good at scouting, drafting and developing hitters for a while now. As a Sox fan, I can’t even comprehend what that must be like.

  37. I have no idea what you are going on about now if you are trying to take a victory lap over the Sox blowing a game just like they have blown an untold number of games over the last couple of years in similar fashion, but somehow that is a victory because it was the kid we were playing out of position because we haven't developed an internal OF in something over a decade? Sure. Yes, I am definitely sick of it.

  38. I personally believe that Jerry has two things on his mind. #1, minimize the tax hit for transfering the Sox and Bulls eventually. #2, personally pick his successor. As to #1 Keep in mind, and take this grain of salt, because so many of these reports have been completely wrong, but if he really wants to sell the Sox after his death, the ONLY way to minimize the tax hit to for them to be sold UPON his death. If they transfer to anyone else, the price resets, and a tax implication on gains starts to build. If it happens upon his death, then the estate only faces inheritance taxes on the gains, because then the price resets to the price upon inheritance, meaning no gains. So in other words on death he pays taxes based on a $19 million purchase price to say the $2 billion price of today. If immediately sold to someone else, they are still worth $2, and there are new gains. If Michael (or anyone else) takes ownership they start a new tax line at $2, and if they later sell, they again pay taxes on the new gains from $2 and up. Having a new purchaser in the queue upon his death is the single most important thing here if the historic reports on disposing of the team and saving on taxes as much as possible are true. On #2, we know Jerry is a power guy. He always has been. He has tried to pick each commissioner and takes a special pride in turning down owners he doesn't think are good for the game. There is zero chance he will leave his OWN franchise to chance. Not only are his wishes known, I would bet all of gregs houses that his plans are already underway, they are written down, and know to those who need to know them. If it is Ishbia, it is him. If it is Hodson, it is her. If it is someone we have no idea about, those people already know. It makes logical sense that the dude who is now up to 35% ownership IS the guy who is buying Jerry's shares upon his death (otherwise, why?), it does make sense that they also have a control succession plan. Whether that is death, or something sooner, who knows. We all know Jerry will absolutely lie to the media to control a narrative, and feed complete BS to his people to further whatever story he is telling at the time. I do vibe with the idea that Jerry is sticking around long enough to do the dirty work for the stadium and TV deal, but who knows what the truth actually is.

  39. I don't believe the Ishbias bought 35% of a club so that JR could 100% control their investment. My guess is Ishbias will be taking over sooner rather than later.

  40. Hope this doesn't turn into another Carson Fulmer, who seemingly peaked in college...or all the pressure will fall on Taylor and Schultz. Yes it early. Maybe I am inherently biased against anyone whose hair reminds of Clevinger's lol.
