AKME gonna try to turn in their 100 2nd round picks for a top 3 overall pick like they're at the prize counter at Dave and Busters.7 points

This is the same organization that accidentally put out AJ Hinch signature on the Tony Larussa hiring graphic. I would say its highly unlikely they intentionally left out Frank, they're just incompetent.3 points

I'd argue it did not turn out great for the White Sox for Garrett Crochet. We backed ourselves into a corner and had to trade him because he only had 2 years left BECAUSE we threw him into the bullpen (and left him there).2 points

Not overly valuable, but have their uses. Just funny because the Bulls have for a long been willing to sell them for cash. So up until right now, the org didn’t find them super valuable. Now they are like Pokemon and we get catch em all.2 points

one of my favorite reinsdorf gimmicks is letting the GMs who couldn't build something up get first run at tearing it down. Just another pathetic feather in his cap.2 points

I'd think you'd have to have Colson and Murakami both hitting 30+, Vargas, Meidroth, Quero, Teel and Baldwin all come into their own, Acuña/Pereira contributing, Shane Smith and Davis Martin both become 3+ WAR pitchers, Burke and Kay at least 2 WAR, the bullpen gels and becomes an asset, and then, maybe you're a .500 team? Then maybe you rush one of Noah Schultz or Hagen Smith to be a lefty specialist for a couple of months? But even if everything breaks right and this team is 52-48 towards the end of July and Detroit isn't pulling away, they sure ain't trading for anybody. So yeah, they might convert somebody to keep the balloon in the air.1 point

The White Sox will not need a new stadium for at least another decade and when they eventually need one, it sure as fvk is not going to be at the "78."1 point

Better / not terrible / entertaining…sure. Good enough to rush prospects to fill major league roles when we have numerous long-term holes in the rotation? Not even close IMO.1 point

It was even worse that they put his picture up first so the fans didn’t really know she was there for him, so it was like setting the fans up to boo1 point

I wish they'd just turn him into the next Mason Miller. They've already alluded to the fact his mechanics could lead to an injury in a starter capacity, and now they appear to be setting him up... to eventually move into a starter role in the future (2027)? Or are they just trying to create a market inefficiency where they have elite arms pitch multiple innings?1 point

It's very hard for me to believe omitting arguably the best player in White Sox history from a graphic was a mere oversight. The administration is acting like the group of vindictive, unprofessional bitches that they are, and that makes them repellent to the baseball universe.1 point

Feeling like a “let’s luck into the top of the lottery” end of the season. Which is so AKME/Reinsdorf, to not MAKE your own luck through hard work but to just hope everything goes absolutely perfect1 point

The Tigers are situated to win now, nothing baller about trading today away for the future imo in that scenario.1 point

Cheapass teams should never get above a C. Trade their better players for prospect humping. The exclusion is the Sox of trading Robert, at least they will have someone younger playing CF. Imagine if they only got pitchers. All of these grades are often meaningless in a sport that is more injury prone. All it takes is a good starter to get the TJ virus.1 point

This is the trade that makes me the angriest of them all. Oakland got like 40+ WAR out of Bassitt and Semien. Just complete malpractice in identifying the true value of your players.1 point

Jerry Reinsdorf is a lot of things, but everything indicates that racist is not one of them. I can't thing of anything he's said or done as Sox owner over the years that shows that he's prejudiced against any minority group. The best explanations to me is that this snub is a) due to organization incompetence or b) veiled vindictiveness against someone who doesn't sing praises to the Sox organization. Both of those possibilities is very much on brand with Sox ownership. Who knows, maybe JR doesn't like the way Big Frank eats. Also, he's not a Boomer. Boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964. He predates that by almost a decade being born in Feb. 1936.1 point

Frankly (pun unintended), I find it unlikely that there was any intent to exclude the Big Hurt from the graphic. I don't really know who would have a beef with him, first of all. And then I don't know why that person would be involved in the minutiae of making the graphic. My gut feeling is it's just someone who was given a task of talking about firsts and missed the forest for the trees. If I was running the show over there, part of my response would be putting everyone through a White Sox history bootcamp. There's a decent chance that the people putting this together were born after Frank's best years were behind him. That's not really an excuse because you need to communicate to your fans, not to yourself. But it rings as a likelier explanation than people being pissed off at Frank. I'm pretty much going to ride or die with the Big Hurt, but I think he's making himself look kind of bad here too. Definitely making the Sox look worse, but he comes off as sensitive. Maybe there's some hard feelings about the role he'd like to have in the organization or TV channel or whatever. It wouldn't be the first time and he's not always wrong about how he feels but he seems to just wear it all on his sleeve.1 point

Frank is in there, under the Dick Allen 1972 entry. He deserves more than that. Big, BIG miss not having standalone 1993/1994 entries for Frank's back to back MVPs, and 2014 HOF election.1 point

This is interesting. I always thought if he could secure a minor league contract with like Boston or Houston that he might do well, or uh, at least better than in the past, in their major league parks because of the Crawford boxes and the monster. At any rate, I wish Eh-loy the best.1 point
