I like the 1971 Road Uniforms. I picked up a tshirt with that style from '47 Brand that I wore for the Sunday night crosstown game at Wrigley and fist pumped a guy wearing the button up jersey of the same style. I love those kind of random Sox fax interactions.4 points

Wilber Wood was only good for about 42 starts a year and maybe double headers. Couldn't really count on the guy too much. Wonder what his 71-72 stats would go for on today's market. The 71 squad made Chuck Tanner Manager Of The Year for a 23-game improvement.3 points

After tonight, that’s 125 starts from five dudes in 135 games. That’s pretty good in this era…probably the most in MLB this season. If Lopez and Lambert get 2-3 starts each this month, that’s ok.3 points

Agreed but also bring back the sleeveless home whites as the alternate3 points

He had a great start against Seattle in his start after that. And a great one against the Orioles. Also pitched very well against the As. And some of those losses were tough luck. To be honest, the turning point was kind of the loss against the Royals in August where he actually pitched really well.2 points

My preference is that Dallas stay in for a minimum of 400 pitches tonight2 points

Leury is invaluable. Backup SS and 6 other positions more than fine, are you kidding me?2 points

Yes, it's a good beer. The ones they brew here are typically good. The ones in NY/Col previously brewed here (312, IPA), not good. They should keep the cans the same, or just wait to issue a World Series commemorative issue! In terms of the alternate uniforms, I like these the best. Tommy John 1971 - Would have been a great 50th anniversary selection for this season.2 points

The 83s are awesome. Let's get the series started with a dub and keep the Tribe dreaming of any sort of crazy comeback.2 points

They’re better in moderation. Definitely ready for them to retire them as the alternate. Maybe a couple more years. Have a 40th anniversary thing, and then no more.2 points

We can offer him the QO right? No brainer, take the draft pick and if in some crazy world he accepts you'll gladly take him on a one year market rate deal.2 points

Too many injuries, they’ll prolly just throw him out there to “eat” innings. Hopefully this is enough to show he has no chance at hell being on the playoff roster and maybe even enough to show they should just cut bait this off season.1 point

Cleveland and Minnesota were very good teams. And he pitched well against them. I'm by no means defending him. Dude shouldn't be on the postseason roster. But he was also integral in them reaching the playoffs last year and to deny that is just kind of revisionist history. Both things can be true. He can have a shitty season this year and also still have pitched really well last year.1 point

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Tell him beards aren't allowed in clubhouse and hope he pulls a LaRoche1 point

Dallas is done he is toast and should not be near the rotation in 22.1 point

Not going into the Lindsay Buckingham binge (an interesting enough player), but a binge of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers - Clapton, Peter Greene and Mick Taylor would be be worthwhile.1 point

Hoping Keuchel and Kopech each get through at least one inning this weekend. Leury could use some rest. Wouldn't mind Tony getting 60 days off himself at this point.1 point

I would love to see the FoD uniforms utilized again in the future1 point

Please tell me that this is more about Charlotte than the status of Tim Anderson.1 point

I like how we have to keep defending Grandal even when we just went through a month of some of the worst catching performances we've had in recent history without him and the guy has an OPS over .900 and is hitting .529 with 4 homers since coming back last week.1 point

One offer I thought should have been made from teachers unions is to mandate vaccines for all teachers and in turn, all students mask up until a certain vaccination threshold is reached in schools and the masks get removed. I have no idea how well that would work or how much pushback there would be but it was just an idea. I do wonder how well living with the virus floating around and being vaccinated will go, particularly if the kids are vaccinated and more employer mandates get more people to take the vaccine. Is the goal to make cases more manageable and not overrun hospitals with getting as many people vaccinated as possible, getting boosters each year and wearing masks during the peaks of the virus each year? I’m not sure we have all figured the goal for the future and dealing with this virus yet, but science changes with new evidence so I just think we don’t know yet. You mean, the ones who are 12 and up? I’m wondering what parents are more likely to vaccinate their kids, those with older or younger kids? Are some parents concerned about the long term impacts of the vaccine or that the vaccine isn’t fully FDA approved? It would be good to study further. One of my conservative friends at work (both he and I are vaccinated) and I were trying to figure out the answer to the question, do vaccines help slow the spread of the virus? Regardless of if they do or not, what is the goal? Is it getting most people vaccinated and the rest are at risk of hospitalization or death and the rest of us get a yearly booster shot (so cases rise but we avoid hospitalizations and deaths)? Anyway, it goes along with your point. I hope you and your children don’t get it, my wife and I sent our son to daycare and he got a nice cold which got spread to us. We are both vaccinated but we thought it was possible we got covid from the daycare. Luckily it was a bad cold and my wife tested negative, which HR asked for because she and I had fevers. It’s tough to keep everyone safe…1 point
