  1. Not to mention, in 1 more active season, Eloy has put up HALF of the WAR that Luis has. He just isn't a guy you build around, or even sweat keeping on the roster. 18 different injury stints since making the big leagues, 19 after today. No thanks.

  2. They are just the guys who are potentially overslot, but the signing period isn't over. They'll almost certainly sign, just need a day or 3 to sort the money part out.

  3. Top of the White Sox lineup burning down Atlanta this weekend! Andrew Benintendi 7-14, 4 R, 4 RBI Tim Anderson 4-12, 1 BB, 1 RBI Luis Robert Jr. 5-12, 1 HR, 5 RBI

  7. This is the main reason the window was always going to be 2020-2023. You could see it coming years ago. If Crochet was turned into a starter and Kopech had developed the way they wanted, they would be in a decent spot, but the odds of both of them developing was always a longshot. There weren’t many circumstances Gio was going to be resigned and Lance Lynn is going to be 37 in 2024. Again, that’s why all of this is pointless. The window is closed, there is absolutely no pitching depth in the organization, and Rick will seemingly be tasked with rebuilding the rebuild. Never been a worse time to be a Sox fan.

  9. An unfair take on Eloy and even Moncada. I would not question their dedication because a lot of it was required to get where they are, especially considering where each came from. Sometimes, some players are just more injury prone. It happens. A bad back is a bad back, bad legs are bad legs. It’s genetics… but watch any game and I don’t see how you question at least Eloy’s joy for the game.

  11. Neither Moncada or Eloy strike me as players that love the game and the grind. They aren't dedicated to getting in the best shape possible and wanting to be on the field every single game. The two things I absolutely want to see the rest of this season is Colas play every game in RF, and trading for a legit 2B. You have to find out if Colas is the guy or not and you have to fill the void at 2B that has been there forever. You then get yourself a great defensive catcher who can hit some HR's and you are suddenly strong up the middle which all good teams are. Also I don't trade TA unless I get an offer to good to pass up. I'm convinced all his issues are related to an injury and his off field nonsense and his marriage most likely being in shambles. He needs to get his head back right.

  12. Some, time, some where, some day, Moncada will be back on the team. Burger has 22 home runs and 44 rbis. Moncada probably won't hit 22 home runs the rest of his career. I'm really curious to see if they bench Burger and play Moncada full time. Its time to move on from Moncada. Even if they have to release him and eat his money. So be it.

  13. It's a great Sunday win and impressive series win. However that's baseball and sometimes a bad team can win a series against the best team. Just be careful here, the Sox still have major flaws and are not a playoff team. I will not drop my guard and let them tease me thinking they are back in the race to win the Central. We've gone down this rabbit hole too many times this season. Sorry to be negative, but it is what it is! This impressive series win shouldn't change anything to the fact, the Sox still need to be sellers in the next few weeks.

  16. If, and it's a big if, TA can get his head right and get back to who he is I would be very ok with Benintendi, TA, and Robert as the top 3 in the order heading in to next year. I'm ok with Vaughn at 1st its the next 5 that needs a total changeover. You have to get an everyday solid 2B and RF. If you think Colas is your RF then play him everyday the rest of the way this season and see if that is true or not. You then need to find a C who is great defensively and can hit you some HR's. I don' keep Moncada, Eloy, Grandal, Sheets. or Andrus. Yea you have to eat a crap load of salary if you can't trade them but you can't move ahead with any of these guys. And I don't know what you do with Burger. He is such an easy guy to root for and he plays really hard. You need guys like that on your team. Like I have said you have to change the culture on this team. No more guys who are hurt all the time or don't bust their butts playing hard. Look at the Braves. The first 4 in their order are playing every day. You need guys that love the game and hate to lose. Give me a team full of those guys.

  17. I want Colas out there everyday to see if he can hack it, so he gets 2 hits last night while playing a nice right field and is on the bench today, way to build confidence in the kid Grifol.

  19. For the 19th time, that's right DVS of the Sun-Times listed his missing in action stints since he was called up to the Sox last month in the newspaper, our guy Eloy is going to miss time "at least the next four or five days..." Of course the Sox won't put him on the IL and play shorthanded. LOL. https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2023/7/16/23796778/eloy-jimenez-exits-white-sox-game-with-groin-tightness Please trade this stiff! So tired of this crap. 🤡

  22. I was wondering if Mason Adams would get a start of his own after he didn't piggyback Schultz yesterday... The answer is yes. 5IP, 2R (1ER), 5K, 2H, 0BB. BP doesn't hold the lead though.

  23. Birmingham is leading 13-1, another relatively good start for Thompson, but once again at various times he loses all ability to throw strikes. 4 walks in one inning led to their run and now he's just walked the first 2 guys in the 6th. 6 bb in 5IP is not going to cut it.

  26. You're not being negative. They were horrible before the break. And several times during the past two seasons, I thought they had momentum and didn't. I'll just enjoy this for a day. Still 15 games under .500.

  37. When a team brings up a player with some potential like Colas, they shouldn't be pigeonholed into a platoon situation. Sure perhaps give them their rest against the toughest LHPs in the league and slowly break them in against them, but the current situation of Colas only facing RHP, Eloy risking life and limb playing RF against LH Starters, and Sheets another waste of a roster space is yet another poor roster management decision by Hahn and company. 38. Grifol describes the team weaknesses as a lack of focus and attention to detail which are absolutely some of their huge problems. However he seems to forget he promised those things would be strengths and not problems at his initial press conference when Hahn introduced him. This is the best paragraph of the article: Grifol pledged the Sox would be fundamentally sound, control the strike zone on both sides of the ball and earn the trust of fans. But Sox hitters’ chase rate is the second-worst behind the Tigers, and their walk rate is last. Defense was stressed during spring training, but the Sox are near the bottom of most runs-saved metrics. I'm sorry but talk is cheap and once again until Grifol proves he can be a leader and actually back up his promises, so we actually can see major improvements in the results on the field defensively, on the mound with the pitchers and in the batter's box with all their hitting approach flaws; I'm not buying his crap. It's the "same s%*#, different day" BS speech.

  43. But this illustrates the general problem we have. We have literally zero pitching depth in the upper minors and our payroll is going to be slashed. Rick Hahn hasn’t been able to fix 2B & RF despite being holes for multiple years…imagine him trying to patch together 3/5 of a rotation.

I have sat all over the park except for the 4th level and liked ‘em all. If they play down here outside of July and August I would say come on down the weather is great especially April/ May.
