  1. I like the little that I’ve heard from him. The homerun call he sounded like he was caught napping with Chuck having taken a segment… But overall, he’s fine. Our version of SlamDiego. 😆 Some of you folks just will always have a gripe.

  4. They are still a half a billion short on financing before cost overruns, and don’t have renderings for the planned hotel, in part because that stadium won’t likely fit on the tiny 9 acre stadium parcel (35 acres overall). In comparison, Comiskey Park II covers twelve acres plus 70 more acres in parking lots, cause Jerry. The A’s originally sought a 49 acre site on Tropicana across I-15 was shot down by the Nevada Legislature because it is owned by anti-union Station Casinos. Gotta call this The Casbah if this ever gets built. The only band that matters….

  5. Shaw sucks and is 36, he shouldn't be coming north. Just find literally anybody else for middle reliever.

  7. First game I ever tried to go to back in 2016 at Camelback was rained out. Same week we got caught in a massive rainstorm while out hiking around Tom's Thumb trail. Turned the trail into a river in under 20 minutes. Thank god it was fairly warm. Streets all flooded on our way back to the hotel, and rich soccer moms fording small rivers in massive SUVs at 5mph.

  12. I don't see any expansion franchises even awarded until the end of Manfred's term, if ever. First you need two credibly financed groups who can cover the $2B expansion fee plus several hundred million more to credibly fund a franchise. With the remaining markets out there, it's like picking over produce at Butera. Second, you need to find two sucker municipalities with a half billion to a billion plus minimum to piss away. Apparently the Mormons pulled the trigger on some tax scheme, but good luck entering a market a third smaller than Milwaukee with no baseball history trying to sell about four times of the ticket inventory of the Jazz. Third, the RSN scam has run it's course, with a majority of the teams already hat in hand and any open markets likely grabbing an over the air TV contract for far less revenue, necessitating even more revenue sharing. MLB is better contracting to 24-26 teams to gain a much higher split of the annual revenue without handing a half billion plus to the Fishers and Nittings and Dolans and other billionaire MLB welfare recipients, while still keeping a few municipalities around who might be able to support stadium welfare with a decent fan base.

  13. That was me. My only hope is that he can do what Jason couldn't, which is develop a home run call. This was...not inspiring.

  14. I'm not sure why Sox fans want the Sox to be the one "line in the sand" stand against public funding for sports stadiums. There's other stadiums that are funded by an increase in sales tax, which IMO is much worse than extending an existing 2% hotel tax that'll still be there whether the Sox build a new park or not. Well, I think I know why.....because JR is a greedy, horrible, tone-deaf owner who already played the relocation card to get a new stadium once and then helped botch the design of said stadium. And I totally agree with that sentiment. But, I'll be a Sox fan long after Jerry has left this world and I think a South Loop ballpark would be great for the franchise in a post-Reinsdorf era. IMO, I hope they make Jerry pay a significant portion of this project (since his family and shareholders will get a huge bump in franchise value if this park is built) and a deal gets done to make this happen. Oh, and I'm no fan of the McCaskeys either. They're worse than Reinsdorf IMO. At least he built his own fortune and didn't just inherit it from his Grandpa. They've arguably run the Bears worse than he's run the Sox over the last 30 years, which is no small feat. And that 2002 Solider Field deal is much worse for the taxpayers than the 1988 New Comiskey deal was. There's $200M MORE owed on Solider Field now than when the renovated stadium opened 20 years ago!

  17. Where did he have Bryce Rainer? Sounds like we need to start talking more about him. He's made some adjustments at the plate that are making guys believe in his hit tool along with his excellent projection, athleticism and power. He just might be a Dude.

  22. There are some legit young guys in those buckets to where they are almost bonus points if they breakout. Obviously they could be doing better, but it feels like we are getting a breakout or two a year from guys who weren't top signings, which is a big thing down there. Really be nice if we start seeing similar from all of the pitchers and catchers we keep bringing in from Latin America.

  41. Since when has Grifol not said a clown thing? 😜 But i don't react as strongly to this comment. Kopech in my opinion has been given a lot of rope over the past few years, he hasn't produced, he's had injuries of course but there also seems to be a lot of off the field intrigue going on as well, not as bad as Anderson but enough to make the tabloids. Basically it's time for him to put up or shut up. So let's see how he reacts under this "pressure" from Grifol. In all likelihood he'll still be in the rotation.

  46. Outside of a very limited handful of starting pitchers, Jerry is 100% right on this one. ML starting pitchers are becoming like NFL running backs. Use them heavily for 4-6 years and then discard.
