Who had TA (.412 SLG) slugging more than Burger (.208) on their ST bingo card?4 points

I know they have to give Kopech every last chance, but I’m really looking forward to the day he’s out of the rotation…or on a different team.4 points

To answer the threads question.. My 2024 Priorities are to watch as little of White Sox Baseball as possible.3 points

11:20am: Cole will receive multiple opinions on the status of his elbow, and the Yankees don’t expect to announce a prognosis today or even tomorrow, tweets Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. I'd say if it were a nothingburger, they'd be more apt to release the news right away. This would make me think its not good.3 points

I still don't like putting money into the RB position, think it's a bad use of resources. But if it doesn't stop them from adding to the OL and DL, fine.3 points

Probably explains all of the Yankee scouts at the Cease start that @Harold's Leg Liftmentioned.3 points

Yeah outside of that whole mess, I think teams and other players just really don't like him and using it as an excuse to not sign him.3 points

Here's the thing about Bauer. He runs his mouth constantly. It's why someone like Marcell Ozuna - or Urias the first time around - flies completely under the radar in comparison. Bauer? He decided to tweet out support of a Naval officer whose negligent driving killed two Japanese people, generating controversy in the one place that was letting him pitch. Next level stupid on his part. Other things worth noting Multiple women have accused him. It's not a one-time thing with Mr. Big Brain. Bauer peaked with sticky stuff in 2020. We know this because he basically dared the league to crack down on him. If a guy who dominated in 2020 and part of 2021 was the third best pitcher on his NPL team, why is he suddenly going to be a pitching adonis over here? There's a reason all 30 teams are not willing to deal with the headache that comes with a guy currently peacocking about going up against minor leaguers.3 points

Lol right, like Cease. We went from “wait until the offseason,” to “wait until the deadline,” to “wait until the offseason,” back to “wait until the deadline.”2 points

Trevor needs to read Dale Carnegie's book, "How to win friends and influence people." I think it could pay off more than Reinsdorf's public relations speaking course at Trump University.2 points

Not to mention he was a toxic teammate. Cleveland dumped his ass after he was pulled from a game and through the ball out of the stadium. The entire Dodgers dugout immediately voted to ban his ass from the clubhouse at the first opportunity. Started a fist fight after taunting beloved Joey Votto his short time there. Arizona was glad to dump his ass at the first opportunity. I was against the Sox pursuing before any domestic violence allegations were publicly known. And the Dosgers once again did a s%*# job when it came to evaluating these widely known issues before handing him nine figures, and then crying to Manfred once they no longer wanted to pay him. Yesterday: https://www.nbcsports.com/mlb/news/trevor-bauer-is-brutally-honest-sometimes-just-brutal https://www.si.com/mlb/2019/02/19/trevor-bauer-cleveland-indians-training-tools-twitter-controversy-cy-young Still asshole after all these years… Today: https://nypost.com/2023/07/02/trevor-bauer-throws-tantrum-on-teammates-in-japanese-league/2 points

Said it before, but if you have made the determination that you are upgrading at QB by selecting Williams, then trading a worse QB within your division shouldn't be a concern to the Bears2 points

I feel like 95% of the time with an elbow issue if it's down to "seeking more opinions" and "hoping for the best" it's gonna be at best 3 months of rest and at worst 15 months of TJS rehab.2 points

It’s easier for elected officials to say yes to an organization that’s willing to put up 2Billion as opposed to and organization (the Sox) that won’t put up their own money.2 points

If Bears had 7 or 8 picks - I maybe would care more. But Swift was a 2nd round pick and Bears are basically buying that for 8M per year for next 2 years (3rd year you can walk away from basically). The Bears absolutely have luxury of doing that vs. using a 4th rounder or something on a RB this year (they don't have the luxury of doing that). And I like Swift at 8M vs. paying some mediocre guy 2-3M per as a FA. I also like having a legit pass catcher at RB. But damn did Wilkins get paid - 27.5M per year AAV.2 points

100%. I saw the tiktoks that I'm sure that everyone else has watched from Camelback and I cannot believe that he still had all the Bauer showmanship and cocky attitude. No look soft tossing ground ball putouts doesn't fly with any club or any coach in like 99.9999% of organized baseball. I'm very surprised he still behaved like that. It's almost like he thinks Banana ball or something similar is his only option? I was rooting for him big time but I don't think anyone wants to deal with the circus.2 points

I would say no MLB will give Bauer a shot at this time. Could present public sentiment change if more details come out, absolutely but Bauer is still a Richard, that isn't ever going to change.2 points

According to this article https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcchicago.com/investigations/bears-new-stadium-plan-raises-funding-questions-as-taxpayers-still-owe-589m-on-soldier-field/3379911/%3famp=1, the Bears still owe $589M on the Soldier Field renovations.1 point

I'm wondering if Sosa is starting regularly in the B games. And if they're giving him OF reps out of the spotlight.1 point

The primary two positives are the starting pitchers overall, especially Crochet, and the health and performance of Eloy and Yoan. The two disappointments have been few standout relievers stepping up, though there is still plenty of time on that front, and the large number of veterans which look to be a distraction and usurpation of playing time from mid 20s players.1 point

JR trying to leech off of the Bears is so embarrassing and unsurprising. Glad to see they apparently told him to go kick rocks.1 point

My hope is Hunter allows you on a shorter term deal. When I say that - I mean more flexible to drop after say 3 years, but he is going to get 25M AAV.1 point

Anyone else disappointed in Montgomery's showing at ST? Certainly didn't look like a top 10 prospect in the game.1 point

You also have to take into account that Saquon plays behind a non-existent offensive line. If you put him in Philly he would have had way better numbers. That being said, I agree. You're better off investing $8 million in the offensive line than spending that on a injury-prone RB. I'm going to be mad as hell if they decide to ignore center once again and spend a bunch of money on a RB.1 point

Player A (2023 Season):Success Rate: 49% Yards Per Attempt: 4.6 Yard After Contact per: 3.03 Forced Missed Tackles: 33 PFF Rush Grade: 79 Player B (2023 Season):Success Rate: 40% Yards Per Attempt: 3.9 Yards After Contact per: 2.91 Forced Missed Tackles: 31 PFF Rush Grade: 70 Player A is Khalil Herbert, Player B is Saquon. Saquon does other things and has value, but the point is spending significant dollars on the RB position is DUMB1 point

I love the dichotomy of "Free Agents will never sign here" and "JR could have signed [player X], but didn't". What makes anybody think that Cody Bellinger would have signed with the White Sox? AJ Pollock left $6m on the table to NOT play here. The Sox would have to pay a premium to attract a player like Bellinger that would make it an insane overpay. Like, Kris Bryant insane.1 point

Papa Bear Hallas drove the Chicago Cardinal out of town (intentionally). The current Hallas Family may (intentionally or unintentionally) drive the Sox out.1 point

People want urban areas where they can do stuff pre-game and post game. While there is a contingent that like to tailgate, that’s simply what the younger generations want and that’s been proven. The river bed stuff is a failed argument. There’s a public park adjacent just south of the proposed stadium site called ping tom park. It’s good enough to have folks walking around, catching kayaks, etc, but the area next to it isn’t? Atlanta has a large office building in truist sightlines. Wrigleyville has had the rooftops. This wouldn’t be any different. With that stated, not “being inspired” by the renderings is subjective just like the rest of your post. The folks downstate actually like the renderings and the area. if the stadium isn’t built it has nothing to do with parking lots or how the renderings look. It’s purely money related.1 point
