  1. ESPN expects a little more urgency from an organization that has not won a World Series since 1917.

  2. They aren't wrong, but fuck ESPN anyways.

  3. As presently constituted, the Cubs are fielding a better lineup than the White Sox. It should be a tough two game series for the Sox. Hopefully, the Sox will be able to win one of the two games.

  4. Madrigal's .349 OBP in 2021 was behind Grandal (.420), Robert (.378), Moncada (.375), and Abreu (.351)

  5. Is it bad that I'm looking at a 2-3-4 of Yolbert, Moncada, and Perez and my first thought is that'd I'd take that right now on the Sox. Give me high contact hitters that get on-base.

  6. Can we circle back to this again?

  7. Jack everytime he sees a Kopech pitch under 95 MPH.

  8. He's resting guys for the playoffs which is absolutely not a certainty at this point. I 100% understand looking at the big picture with things (and I couldn't care less that the Cubs are on the schedule) but he's gone overboard with the "keeping guys fresh" stuff

  9. Robert was finally finding his swing and getting in a grove, and now he sits on the bench. It's just bad managing. I said it to you before PTATC, baseball is not some physcally strenuous activity that requires constantly rest to maintain health. In fact, I'd argue it's the opposite; additionally, haven't you argued of late it's the "mental" side you need a break from? I'd also argue that's absurd as you need to learn to push through mental blocks to be a great baseball player. You and I have very different philosophical opinions on the game. Additionally, trainers and etc I have had in my life to train me for higher levels of baseball also disagree with the premise of constant rest.

  10. SP have to go 5 to qualify for a win. Just the rules. One of many reasons W/L is sort of a useless metric for SP. of course Kopech deserves the W over Lopez.

  11. I understand he started the year poorly, but the level of hysteria every time Bummer comes into a game is so strange he has a multi year track record of being very good. That should have bought him some patience to pitch through 8 bad innings.

  12. Hitters just refuse to try and take a walk

  13. The good old "sitting guys" to keep them fresh strategy. It's really worked wonders for the White Sox.

  14. Disagree. With how hot the Angel's were and the throwaway Keuchel game I was okay with a 4 game split with the Angels. But with Kopech and Gio pitching against these guys we should expect to win both games and start working out of this funk.

  15. I’d put Yoan 2nd. Give me a guy whose had known success in that spot and will compliment Anderson’s aggressive approach with his patience and ability to work the count. 1. SS Anderson R 2. 3B Moncada S 3. CF Robert R 4. 1B Abreu R 5. C Grandal S 6. LF Vaughn R 7. RF Pollock R 8. DH Sheets L 9. 2B Harrison/Garcia R/S

  16. Find a baseball site to post that. We're talking weather here.

  17. We used to go down to Marco Island every winter pre-Covid. The weather is fantastic almost all year - I don't even mind summer. Heat, humidity and rain are way better to me than cold and dark.

  18. I think we found a nice area with really good schools, but we'll see! Certainly looking forward to the weather.

  25. I am not fine resting guys when your 9-13. Play your best people and get over 500. You have enough injuries to where the people that are here have to be the best to go until you get your injured people back. Then rest here and there. At least garcia has been sitting. Harrison is the new punching bag .

  26. Yeah, there is NO WAY anyone could play 162 games in a season, and deal with any normal pain/strains, etc. They'd have to be a top 1% physical specimen, for sure...

  27. I think it's obvious from the number of soft tissue injuries that there is something wrong with his off season training.

  28. That's exactly what I said. These guys have ZERO fight to get their asses back into the lineup. None. Robert's body language out there anytime he moves looks like he's hurt and crying to come off the field.

  29. Or some of those same players can go up to their manager and tell them not to take them out like Abreu likely does.

  30. The difference between Kap and Chuck is that chuck is likeable.

  31. I was gonna say Kaplan is the equivalent of Garfein, but Garfein is more nuanced than him. Kap is like...imagine the anti-Parkman.

  33. Like I said in the minor league game thread, Moncada can just bring Yolbert and Carlos Perez with him on his next flight.

  37. The one thing I don't get is in 1995 the Sox were expected to be good, but got cheap after the strike, and started off really slow. It cost Lamont his job really quick, replaced by Bevington, and JR had no problem blaming Lamont for supposedly not having the team ready to play. This team has far more talent, and a terrible start. How come that isn't on LaRussa?

  38. Whose brilliant idea was it to get rid of that? They should have kept it forever and keep adding new memories each year.

  42. For like the millionth time you have never been banned. For like the millionth time every time you have ever been -suspended- it has been painstakingly explained to you. It has never been out of nowhere. but this basically just shows beast why you keep adding that disclaimer. Because you love to play the game that you don't quite understand why everyone is so upset when you just keep doing the same thing

  43. Why do I have a feeling Yoan's stay will be short lived with that oblique injury? I highly doubt he's 100%.
