Here's something I've come to figure out about the Sox FO. They decide what they're willing to offer in a trade or free agent signing instead of offering what it takes to get the deal done. They'll say we'll offer you this and when it gets turned down they'll say oh well we tried. They want deals on their own terms and aren't willing to do whatever it takes to get it done. This "strategy" is one of the main reasons why they're fighting for their playoff lives instead of being one of the best teams in the league in year thousand of the damn rebuild.8 points

Congrats to Seby. That is a hell of an accomplishment to keep at it and outright win a job like this. He’s improved a lot.6 points

The Sox have 7 guys getting regular playing time with negative offensive fWar : Harrison, Engel, Moncada,Pollock , Grandal, Sheets and Garcia5 points

So basically all of the holes Hahn failed to address in the off-season he will magically fill now, with inflated prices and less means to add. Cool.5 points

That team was much more fun to watch. Just didn't have a fifth starter and Loiaza came apart down the stretch.4 points

This is one of the most putrid offenses I've ever watched. Nine fucking singles. How does Menenchino still have a job? Only with this organization... HIT HOME RUNS YOU USELESS ASSHOLES!4 points

It’s quite pathetic that Hahn’s two big FA signings were unplayable for half their contracts4 points

The fucker was falling asleep when the game started. So damn embarrassing4 points

Imagine wearing that stupid yellow M&M jacket on a hot night. What a jagoff.4 points

When you can’t score a lot of runs, every game is tough. Of course Menechino should be fired but Hahn needs his scapegoat after the season.4 points

You know our trade deadline is going well when we are debating whether or not our latest acquisition is an improvement over Tanner Banks.4 points

The only move made so far is one that pretty much guarantees that Grandal gets more playing time. Does Rick Hahn even watch these games?3 points

I’m always amazed this site is free. With this kind of scouting report, I don’t know we aren’t charging for this kind of spot-on analysis.3 points

I frankly am hoping they do. I'd love to see the Twins blow a good chunk of their prospect capital chasing this season.3 points

So you want credit for the Sox having a seat at the table? Ok Rick.3 points

Rick Hahn gets brownie points for giving it the ‘ol college try. Funny I got hammered for that when we were sort of in on him and not Soto. Scary to be thinking along with Rick Hahn. That’s not a good thing usually. Compare the number of pages in the respective threads. Granted, the national story broke first with the Soto extension rejected whereas the possibility of Ohtani going is relatively recent.3 points

I would add Mieses to that list, but as has already been pointed out, there's so much filler on the Sox 40 man, I don't think this should be their primary concern. Off the top of my head, Abreu, Cueto, Velasquez, Engel, and Harrison are all free agents at the end of the year. Aybar, Crick, Foster, Severino, Sousa, Stiever, McGuire, Romy Gonzalez, and Haseley are all cuttable. That's 12 guys. Our farm system isn't good enough to need to protect 12 guys.3 points

I’ve been saying it for a while now, but Ramos is going to start cracking top 100 lists by the end of the year. Fangraphs had him as our #1 prospect entering the season and now has him only behind Montgomery (ranked #81 overall) in their latest update. Baseball America has him #2 in their mid-season update as well. I think if Colas continues to hit well in AA, he’ll jump onto most top 100 lists and will likely be viewed as the consensus #2 prospect in the system. Still, three top 100 caliber prospects is a massive improvement from where we were entering the season.3 points

Bryan Ramos also got some love as an honorable mention. 60 names were ranked & 10 honorable mentions. That would lead me to think he would be on a Top 100 if Law expanded it out that far.3 points

If I were to channel the white Sox ethos it to me points to JD Martinez, Matt Moore, Quintana.2 points

After no moves are made Rick Hahn will have a presser soon stating that he didn’t want to mortgage the future and jeapordize the competitive window to be short sighted in trying to win now or some bs like that.2 points
