  1. Still no Robert. Did they fucking activate him just to distract from the shitty trade deadline? Holy crap.

  2. First AAA Sosa HR! 106.8 off the bat.

  3. I remember someone (I think Hahn?) saying Moncada tried persuading the Sox to let him try and play through the oblique injury that he started the season on the IL for. The guy looked like he was dying running the bases during 2020 and never went on the IL. What's lazy to me is the narrative that he doesn't care. I wish he was playing better, but I don't see it as an effort problem at all.

  4. Jason talking about mascots. So tired of this dork.

  5. Mods, can we make a Padres sub forum for Caulfied to talk to himself please?

  6. Total speculation on my part, but I'd guess that some of his "off the field" stuff may be carrying over to his play this year.

  7. Also, Carlos Perez decided to homer and one-up Sosa with a 107 off the bat.

  8. Jason sucks. Praying he takes some national job that forces him away from the Sox booth. Really not looking forward to a few decades of this dork.

  9. He is no longer mostly dead. At this moment, he is Wesley pretending to be fully healthy and demanding that Prince Humperdinck throw down his sword(before he falls over)

  10. Everyone on this board was freaking out over the prospect of us picking Singer in the draft.
    3 points
  11. Which is precisely why someone wants Singer to shove it up the Sox rears. Known for his hatred of that pick and love of Kelenic .

  12. Still sounds like some lame excuses about Robert not playing. It's like they think the fanbase is dumb. Well, we keep coming back, so maybe we are dumb.

  13. Dead but taking up a roster spot. It's like Weekend at Louie's. They'll just prop up him up in the dugout with sunglasses on. Josh Harrison will occasionally walk by and give him a fist bump.

  14. Kelly TBD, Kimbrel I agree but you said every single reliever acquisition has been garbage which clearly is false

  15. Those comments are a joke... you're the GM dude. If you're saying that you are unable to do anything to improve the ballclub, its time to step aside.

  16. props to lynn for a great game even after the delay. Diekmann looked nasty, but he‘s had that filthy stuff his entire career he just tends to completely lose any control from time to time

  17. They look lifeless even after a victory -the Tony effect.

  18. Choosing between Burger's glove or Yoan's bat is some legit pick your poison stuff.

  19. Bring Burger up. Start him at 3B. Let Yoan come in late in the game for defense. When Yoan starts hitting again gradually increase his playing time. If he's gets back to what he's supposed to be Moncada wins his starting job back and everyone is happy.

  20. Yoan was a 4 WAR guy last year. Career best OBP and K rate. Only thing lacking was the ISO. Way too early to know if this year is just suffering through some physical problems or if there are more serious issues.

  21. Having to burn Graveman and Hendriks in this game because we couldn't score some runs with the bases loaded and nobody out is frustrating.

  23. He was much better but I wouldn't exactly describe it as being "on fire." And included in that stretch were multiple hits off position players.

  25. Nearly every at bat for him is embarrassing. Something has to be done with him. You just can't keep sending him out there. He will soon be under .200.

  28. Never thought I'd say this but I like Len better than Jason, so tired of Jason's stories. Len in his computer robot voice is sounding better all the time

  29. Also helps that hes hitting the piss out of the ball lately.

  30. Anyone see that shot of Lynn in the dugout? Did he eat a cow during the break? He’s a large man

  31. Once a runner passes the plate, he gets credit for reaching it. The interpretation is the runner’s entire body must pass the entire base. In that case, his run counts unless a proper appeal is made.

  32. Tyler Osik hit for the cycle today. That's kinda fun.

  33. I think Hawk is the worst. But this is slowly beginning to blow up in Hahn's face. On a side note, Kenny was, and still is, by far the best GM the organization has ever had. He was unafraid to be both creative and also bold. I always go back to the deadline deal he made in 2004 for Contreras which upgraded their rotation at the time, he finished 2004 better than Loaiza, and was absolutely key in 2005 when they won the World Series. I think KW would have been able to have gotten a deal done at the deadline this year by being creative, even if it meant trading someone on the Major League roster. He is also someone who was able to look at failures from past seasons and address them in the off season, thinking of 2004 and 2007 specifically.

  34. I hate this organization more and more every day. Why activate Robert if he can't play for 2+ days? Were we just to cheap to pay for a plane ticket for Sosa or Burger or Hasley to come up for the series?

  35. I woke up this morning and realized that Hahn really said we didn't make any trades because he misjudged the market. But we apparently put in an offer for Ohtani? Okay Rick.

  36. I don't know the answer, but Jose has been by far the most consistent, productive and healthy. I know he's aging but he's the best of the bunch still and is showing no signs of slowing down. It is quite the conundrum. Honestly, out of all of them...I hate to say it but I think you explore what you can get for Eloy if you are that sure of Colas (or another hitter who can be more productive than Eloy at the plate and can actually field the ball).

  37. I don't think you can afford to DH Grandal anymore after Robert comes back. Grandal either catches or he doesn't. DH Eloy/Pollock/Vaughn on a rotating basis.

  41. He’s surprised that a team led by a 80 year old who fell asleep in the first inning yesterday lost some of its swagger?

  42. If it was indeed a sellers market as he claims, he could have gotten a haul if he traded one or more of those pieces. The roster as constructed has not been working. Sometimes you have to shake things up.
