  2. Jerry should be so proud of how awful and unlikeable his two organizations are.

  3. That sound you hear? That's the sound of James Fegan getting his locker room access cancelled.

  4. I'm glad Fegan gave them an F. This FO is ultra sensitive to media perception (too bad ownership isnt) and I'm glad a very well respected person is calling it like it is. You reap what you sow.

  5. Yeah, seems like we're more of a dropout... like we've just given up entirely.

  6. I hope this guy never throws a pitch for the Sox. And honestly, I don't care if guys "do worse things in other sports" and get a chance to play again. I don't want them to get that chance either.

  7. White Sox selling slogan to fans appears to be: "Admit it, we've had worse teams than this in your lifetime. See you at G-Rate Field in April of 2023."

  8. Lol. Have you looked at this clubs pitching depth sans Clevinger? Sox should be claiming every SP with upside that becomes available. If you have to DFA the guy again a few days later, so what. There is no reason be upset about this move.

  9. Remember when Rick said he was going go make trades to help augment the roster and then proceeded to only make a minor one? Oh those were the days when I thought we were serious about winning instead of banking on perfect health & luck. What a fucking s%*# show.

  10. Uh, the time to spend the money was in November and December when there were real impact players on the market. They went quasi-cheap bounce back option again and got totally burned signing a garbage human instead of the normal garbage player. They s%*# themselves and now just have to sit in it. It’s honestly what they deserve, and throwing more money at bad won’t solve anything.

  14. Like charted, chartered, uncharted, unchartered...basically the White Sox are the modern-day equivalent of algae floating on top of turgid water. Can't imagine any MLB team so mired in mediocrity (at or around .a 500 record last year) with a more dispirited fanbase or less hope/s for 2-3 years from now. "Turgid describes something that's swollen, typically by fluids, like a turgid water balloon that's way too big to resist dropping on your friend's head." Didn't quite use it correctly, but it just sounds right to describe the hopeless feeling described herein.

  15. it sounds like someone's not getting their quota bonuses this spring. Actually, I do feel bad for that group, not their fault they work for such a terrible owner and mgmt What's amazing is how far the FO & ownership go in showing how little they care about fans. They just see us as "fresh fish, reelin 'em in".

  16. I agree the Sox need a couple more guys to fill out the rotation in Charlotte. Between the two, I think Alexy has more upside. I expect at least one veteran to be brought in on a minor-league deal as well, Pineda or someone like that, who doesn't even need to take up a 40-man spot.

  17. Maybe he would be a change of scenery type. As said in other posts, they should be collecting arms. Especially ones they can option.

  18. Lol lot of internet legal experts popping up. Bottom line is often times you could catch the criminal act on camera as it's being committed and see the case tossed. Especially here in Cook County. So yes, the victim taking her own photos rather than an evidence technician while filing a report makes it highly circumstantial and lacking of credibility. Like it or not. I believe it. Dude seems like a shitbag. But the burden of proof is high and a lot of players get investigated for a lot of things that go nowhere. Ideally Sox would've caught this beforehand and not signed him but they didnt. If he's guilty I hope he gets what he deserves but it'll be an uphill battle for the victim.

  19. Normally you'd think this but with this inept, dysfunctional and incompetent organization we shouldn't be surprised.

  20. Id take any of Minor, Archer, Kuhl or Bundy on milb deals. Same for the rumored Pineda deal.

  22. F? They got a LF and a wife beater. I wonder what happened to all the trades Hahn was going to make.

  23. I get it but the two people saying this doesn't give them the benefit of the doubt for anything. Ever. I'm sure we both have been hearing the same thing that he's not going to pitch for them.

  24. "Circumstantial evidence" is one of the more misunderstood legal terms by laypeople. This is true both in terms of what kinds of evidence it describes (DNA evidence, for example, is "circumstantial," as are fingerprints) and what it means. People tend to use the term as some sort of pejorative description, when in fact a huge percentage of evidence that ends up leading to criminal and civil liability is inevitably "circumstantial," including some of the most powerful. You can absolutely convict someone of a criminal offense based on 100% circumstantial evidence. There's a standard jury instruction that says just that. None of this is to comment on the specific evidence available in the Clevinger case, about which I have no idea. But attempting to denigrate the quality of evidence by saying it's "just circumstantial" is pretty meaningless.

  27. Nothing the Sox have done in recent years gives them any kind of a high moral ground in these cases. Their pattern of behavior as a franchise has been appalling and depressing.

  28. In all fairness, this is the White Sox we are talking about. I very much hope you are right, but I have no faith in them and they get zero benefit of the doubt. Until they do the right thing, it is hard not to expect them to do what is wrong.

  29. I have no big plans to go out to the ballpark even if they start winning. I didn't expect the FO to spend megabucks on free agents this offseason, but I hoped for more than this. And, now, even before the season starts, one signing is blowing up in their face. The franchise gives the impression it doesn't care about the fan base. This has been going on for way too long. They have the car in neutral. It is hard to invest any emotion in this team. The FO will not change. If the fans are going to be won over, the players will have to do it.

  30. Do the police always help? Are there people who might have already lost confidence in the police? Maybe they reported something before and the police did nothing and the person just got more violent afterwards?

  32. This is basically word for word Fox News propaganda. And the idea the City is bankrupt is hilarious. The City is in the best financial health its been in since the 1990s

  33. We solve AJ's problem with a new attraction. An area of the 500 deck will be turned into a giant helicopter. It'll take suburbanites home after the game. Piloted by their White Sox personality of choice. Free food during the ride if they win.

  36. For one thing, it is a blessing that many of us grew up in a way where these domestic violence incidents are looked at as zero tolerance. On the other hand, there are many people in the league (whichever league) and on the Sox that have grown up in an environment where hitting a women is somewhat commonplace. To your point of the Sox clubhouse having issues, wouldn't the same be said for all of the Yankees last year with Aroldis Chapman? The Cubs didn't seem to have any issue with acquiring him in 2016 after he cleared his handgun next to his wife / girlfriend 's head. Odubel Hererra was a game away from getting a World Series ring in October. Dodgers could have won all of the last three World Series after Julio Urias' incident and people actually witnessed that. Do you think those clubhouses were concerned what happened with those guys' personal lives? What about the Dolphins with Tyreke Hill? Bengals didn't have any chemistry / locker room issues with Joe Mixon these past few years. Clevinger is still under investigation. His teammates are adults living in the real world. It is not the social media world. The team will manage. Clevinger's a starting pitcher. Maybe there is an outfielder that takes exception to it and pent up aggression over it and maybe they keep their distance. Just like all the other teams in all the other leagues manage with all the other criminals/abusers/accused criminals/accused abusers in sports, the Sox will manage. The players are human and when they go to work they're going to be a lot more concerned with things other than what may have happened in the private life of one of their teammates who takes the ball every fifth day.

  39. Oh most definitely. Trade Zach now if you get a good package for him, but I'm not against holding him, letting him stat pad without DDR, Vuc and Lonzo (who the hell is gonna take shots from him? Coby and Pat?), and let him drive up his offseason price.

  40. From my personal experience the fans who are the first to loudly proclaim a boycott are usually the ones that rarely buy tickets anyway. However this year, many season ticket holders I know are saying screw it, especially after the price increase. Far more than I can ever remember, even after the White Flag trade. This year is different.
