If we picked up cash for this return, burn the franchise down. If we didn't pay cash, and this is why we got a garbage return, burn the franchise down.3 points

Robert was scheduled to be at Soxfest. So Jerry also saves two nights at a hotel and minibar charges. He’s gotta love this deal.2 points

Hopefully in a few years JR is gone, Getz is fired, and this organization is finally run like a real baseball team.2 points

Ronald Acuña is a free agent in a few years (as long as options get picked up). We’re just back on the friends and family plan trying to bring him in at the time.2 points
-
Because they would have had to pay him $2 million if they didn't pick it up. With this, you pay nothing and you get a couple of bad lottery tickets back.2 points

No one should be shocked here, Robert hasn’t been good in years and makes $20 million a year.2 points

Um, people also need to remember that Robert has been injured and sucked for the last two seasons.2 points

Glad the people who wanted to make a trade for the sake of making a trade got their wish at least. Just horrible.2 points

I can’t imagine sending much cash if that’s the return. And honestly, might as well have just dealt him in July.2 points
-
That he could go more than a day without making a post that contained eleven random names that were not related, in anyway, to the topic at hand. Just couldn't do it....2 points

The cap is complicated and requires a pretty in-depth understanding of each teams situation. Which is why I prefer getting information from people who actually cover the team, rather than national writer who is painting with broad strokes2 points

One of the best and a part of three noteworthy White Sox teams. The 1967, 1972 and 1977 groups. A record setting relief pitcher before he became a record setting starter. Had the chance to interview him in 2005. Very nice guy. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/01/18/wilbur-wood-chicago-white-sox-obit/1 point

Mets are in Chicago Aug 21-23. Can't wait for Luis to have like 3 HR 10 RBI and a GG catch just to spite us1 point

Eh, I think unloading a huge contract to an iffy oft injured player on the downside of his talent after 2 sucky years is fine, but we did get garbage in return. It’s an expensive flyer for a cheap flyer. Hopefully they do stick Acuña in CF.1 point

Time for a new signature and name....or should I wear this as a proud black eye of judgement?1 point

I would be shocked if Acuna isn’t replacing Robert in CF instead. The Sox seem to get obsessed with bad players for whatever reason.1 point
-
I like your style but people saying this never prove themselves right. All in all he was an expensive flop. If he ever realizes his potential don’t look back and weep.1 point

I was in the minority wanting to keep him. My screensaver is Robert hitting a homer at the 78. Oh well, deep down i knew this was coming. Brooks Baldwin step on up!1 point
-
Whatever. Didn't expect much I guess Acuna is young enough where he may become useful but we could really use some more power in the lineup.1 point

I’m interested to hear from all the people who said they had money to work with and they wouldn’t carry such a low payroll. You have to imagine if that were true they don’t make this trade.1 point

Meh. It should be an open competition between a lot of post hype prospects. Frankly, Pereira has been a lot better in the minors than Acuna. We are returning to the Tilson, Ryan Cordell era of truly sucky Sox outfielders. Brooks Baldwin is now the trusted veteran of the bunch.1 point

Sold lower now than they might have later, correct. There ought to be a good point to doing it now. Otherwise, don’t do it just to do it1 point

I actually had Luisangel on my fantasy team at the end of 2024. He was legit good for like 2 weeks.1 point

Is Acuna really 5'8 180? That makes Meidroth look big. Why do we trade for players with 0 power potential?1 point

Didn't become a starter until Johnny Sain moved him to the rotation in 1971 at the age of 29....11.7 bWAR for his efforts. 10.7 in 1972. But a liner to the knee effectively ended his career and HOF chances (although he should have had some HOF mention). Great Sox! May he rest in peace.1 point

I always found it odd that JRs ownership basically had nothing to do with Wilbur Wood. To the best of my knowledge he was never even invited back to Soxfest or any doings at the ballpark. If the White Sox ever have a Team Hall of Fame (like other teams have) Wood will be a White Sox Hall of Famer.1 point

Sorry to hear this. Herrmann,Melton,Allen and now Wilbur Wood all passed. They were all heroes to me as a young White Sox fan. May they all rest in peace.1 point

An all time Sox favorite of mine, great knuckleball pitcher and a true workhorse throwing over 320 innings for 4 consecutive years and coming close in a 5th with 291 innings.1 point

That’s sad. He started like half the games one year in my childhood. An all-time Sox great. RIP1 point
