  1. It's cute that you think we'll need Liam in a game started by Dallas Keuchel.

  2. Pretty excited to say I'm going to the game today unless the plane crashes or United pulls their typical delay tactics. We've pulled away from the gate and the engines appear to be getting revved up though, so fingers crossed for a safe landing and fun game. Go White Sox!

  3. Just bring him up.

  4. For the record, I still hate the 10th inning rule regardless if we win this game or not.

  5. this lineup is dog shit. look at the slash lines, holy shit.

  6. Give it up for Velasquez. He is competing and that is all you can ask.

  7. Okay, great comeback win on Saturday night. Extremely quick turnaround though so getting this thread going the night before. We are going for the sweep and SIX in a row! Odds aren't entirely in our favor with Kuechel (1-3, 8.40 era) up against Wacha (3-0, 1.38 era). But I'm as optimistic as anyone! First pitch 10:35 CT on Sunday morning. You can watch on Peacock or NBC (not NBCSC...the actual NBC channel). Let's get a sweep!

  8. Thank God this game is back on NBC Chicago. What a trainwreck that Apple broadcast was yesterday. We've got Dealin' Dylan Cease on the mound who is coming off the best start of his career so far. Their Sox are starting Nick Pivetta who is 0-4 with an era over 7. Our bats are heating up, so on paper we take this series today. I'd like to see less men left on base, but I'm glad guys are actually getting on. Lets extend this streak to 5!

  9. Also, I think the scoreboard gave up when Greg said he did in the game thread.

  10. Tony's amazing lineup construction strikes again. 0 reason why Robert shouldn't be hitting 2nd.

  11. The fact that the best RH bench bat here is Harrison really tells us how bad our depth is right now.

  12. Gladney destroys another one. Home run #2 on the day.

  13. I wonder if Graveman and Hendriks will be available. They’ve pitched a ton recently. Hopefully there is an offensive explosion so their services aren’t necessary.

  14. And his whole "I quit, no I don't, but trade me" routine too.

  15. Hey, if a 3-game losing streak is cause for concern, then a 5-game winning streak should erase that concern, right?

  16. Once again, it seems like the most important player on the team is Yoan Moncada. If he's close to his 2019 form, he'll be a huge catalyst to offensive improvement. Even if he's 2021 Moncada, he'll still be a nice addition back.

  17. They are playing better than they were. This is good. They still can’t hit RH pitching. This is bad.

  18. We still making it too close for comfort. We won’t take a walk, swinging at everything, need to be more patient. Fortunately our only walk scored in the 9th. Also we cannot hit Pollock second, he left everybody on base. He is hitting close to .100 since back from the IL.

  19. Reminds me a bit of what i kept hearing last season, about the fact that they will automatically turn it on, when the playoffs start.

  20. Funny thing is, Yermin would be more fun to watch at the plate, than Sheets at DH, but sadly, the ole 'unwritten rules of baseball' will assure we never see him again.

  21. He will not be as good of a hitter. However his defense does elevate him relatively.

  22. Woah. Do you mean to tell me that decisions are made by multiple people, not just one? If it doesn't work we can't just blame a single person that's makes decisions without input from others? /sarcasm rant (not targeted at this poster)

  23. Yes, it was just the equivalent of a Red Sox home broadcast: how can “the Sox” (as that inane play by play person kept calling the Red Sox) come back and win this? That was their sole focus. Just the icing on the cake of the worst broadcast I think I’ve ever watched. Oh well, “Sox” win, which is what matters.

  29. Between TLR driving the team bus over him and Yermin utterly failing to adjust after his hot start, I don't think we'll see him in Chicago again either. Unless they cut him loose and he happens to latch on somewhere as a part time DH.

  30. By next Sun the weather should be heating up, and we can finally be rid of the cold weather excuse that only affected the White Sox….and not their opponents.

  31. Well If Keuchel shuts down the Red Sox tomorrow, it will be official that the Red Sox bats are irredeemably awful.

  35. I’m preemptively claiming “Asches to ashes, dust to dust” for Sunday’s Keuchel start against Wacha and yet still hoping for the reverse jinx to be in play.

  37. Just contextually, it fits the mold with how biased they were. Sox are down to their last strike and instead of anticipatingly awaiting the climax of one of the best closers in baseball getting the last strike of the game, he's talking about where the first baseman is positioned. Thats good to bring up for maybe the 6th or 7th inning. Not the 9th.

  39. He's around the plate and for the most part makes guys earn their way. Doesn't have many non competitive pitches or at bats. His stuff is fine for a 5th starter imo or even 4th as long as his control is there. He has a little Lance Lynn in him in that he'd rather throw a spinner down Broadway then fall behind and walk guys. I appreciate that style of pitching. That said it's relative. He's fine as the 5th starter anything more is asking too much. He's ahead of Dallas for sure but ideally he's 5th guy rest of the way when staff is healthy.

  41. Old man yells at cloud moment coming: Streaming sucks for Live sports. For three innings, just out of habit, I changed the channel to hockey after each half inning. Then I had to immediately go back to Apple TV and start up the stream again, and still missed a couple pitches. I know I'm old, but I appreciate cable for how quickly I can flip back and forth for live TV. Movies/TV Shows are different, no commercials means leave it on and enjoy. Live sports with ads, I'm just used to being able to quickly change to something else, then come back in 2 minutes without any slowness. Sorry for the Abe Simpson moment.
