Clearing out a bad overpaid bullpen and adding depth to a depleted farm system. It looks like someone is cleaning up someone elses mistakes.7 points

Before we congratulate the Sox too much on these deals for recent college pitchers Bush and Nastrini, I would like to point out that in the 2021 draft the Dodgers got Nastrini in the 4th round (bonus $500,000) and Ed Sheehan (who's in the majors) in the 6th round (bonus $244,500) which combine to be less than the Sox paid their top college pitching target Sean Burke in the third round ($900,000 bonus). Burke can't get the ball over the plate when he's healthy, and he hasn't been healthy. It's either scouting or pitching development or both, but the inability of the Sox to turn ANYONE they draft into an actual asset is why they suck.6 points

Yasmani, you're up next6 points

I'm laughing about thompson, but Nastrini is BA's 10th prospect on the dodger 306 points

wait is there a forum he can't enter without permission like a vampire?6 points

I would like an experienced manager with no previous ties to the Sox organization, but instead to a winning organization.5 points

He's hitting .155 and making almost $1.5 million. He's doing OK.5 points

Shocked they got anything of value for those two. Nastrini is our best pitching prospect close to the majors.5 points

Funny thing is the guy I always wanted was in the opposite dugout tonight4 points

I would have given Graveman away for free just to rid ourselves of his salary for next year. This is a great return for a guy not living up to his contract.4 points

Uh....absolutely, I'll take that return for Kendall Graveman. Tear it down, Rick!4 points

legit blown away that the sox actually get to take advantge of a seller's market. In years past sox would have to eat money and be happy to get the relief prospect alone. This year they get the #9 prospect in a stacked dodger system with #4 potential along with a really good looking relief arm and a warm body, all the while not having to ship any money.4 points
-
Ironically - the White Sox really need someone like Thompson, just because they've had no backup CF pretty much all year and Luis Robert might well just crumble to dust at his current usage rate.4 points
-
Dodgers 9th prospect on the MLB.com list. That's a pretty tolerable return for these 2.4 points

Not much fun being had at this old ballpark and I'm not looking forward to another rebuild with this FO in charge!4 points

If the Sox lose tonight, it will be the 2nd at least 7 game losing streak of the season They have had a total of two 7 game winning streaks in the 11 years Rick Hahn has been GM. Can you fire him today?4 points

My ideal plan was: 1. Fire sale for good talent 2. Smoldering remains of the White Sox start playing well cause sure 3. Win lotto3 points

Banks has pitched well for us the last 2 seasons. 3.7 ERA; 1.15 WHIP. I guess he doesn't have the greatest stuff, but he doesn't walk half the other team, either. His numbers are better than these dudes we dealt away.3 points

One thing Hahn can do: tear it down. That’s another return that is simply much better than what you’d get in an average deadline market.3 points
-
Never mind that s%*#. Get the best prospects you can, no matter where they play or at which level. Let the major league team get absolutely pounded every day. Makes no difference.3 points
-
Outstanding return, Lynn was DFA worthy and Kelly wasn’t getting it done here and you got a legit prospect for them.3 points

Rick backing that truck up Poor Trayce, he thought his worst days were behind him3 points

I don't know if this was posted on SoxTalk earlier here or in another post and if it was sorry for the redundancy. Lucas Giolito is starting tonight for the Angels at the Blue Jays. I hope he has a great game and can show Hahn and Jerry what a losing embarrassment they both are. Actually Gio pitched well against the Blue Jays earlier this year in his one outing vs. the Blue Jays. He gave up only 2 runs through 6 innings and left with a 3-2 lead. Go figure though, Kelly gave up 2 more runs in relief and the Sox lost 4-3.3 points

Well said. I agree with you that Covid crap is ridiculous. There are tons of pro athletes who had covid and are excelling in their sport. Maybe if Moncada would have had maintained better nutritional habits and had better physical training, he might have been able to keep that lean weight and continue to play 2nd base which is what he was brought here for.3 points
-
Stop with the COVID excuse please, and yes his eating a box of Twinkies a day would draw concern from a Doctor or a nutritionist. Think Derek Rose and his skittles or whatever candy he was consuming in mass. Can't be good for your health or body. Look at pictures of Yoan from his rookie year when he was lean and didn't look like a linebacker with a body more conducive to baseball than football.3 points
