  • Quin changed the title to Sox close to signing unknown lefty reliever, per James Fox

Anyway, lefty relievers available:

  • Aroldis Chapman
  • Josh Hader
  • Brent Suter
  • Scott Alexander
  • Matt Moore
  • Brad Hand
  • Jake Diekman
  • Aaron Loup
  • Chasen Shreve
  • Joely Roriguez
  • Richard Bleier
  • Amir Garrett
  • Tim Hill
  • Wandy Peralta
  • Justin Wilson
  • Brett Martin
  • Jarlín García
  • Drew Pomeranz

I honestly don’t hate the idea of signing Chapman and sticking him at closer. Of course there’s a chance it goes terribly, but if he succeeds in the handful of save opportunities he’ll get here it would only increase his value at the deadline.

I also know there’s about a .5% chance it will be Chapman

Chapman is a waste of money IMO.

35 year old Aroldis Chapman for 3.75 million dollars got the Royals a 25 year old controllable starting pitcher who put up 2 bWAR in 12 starts and a lotto ticket.

Your post is probably the White Sox thought process though.
