  1. Cubs now closer to hitting that 85% vax threshold

  3. well, at least 16% of them are for sure. they have never reached that 85% threshold. If you are a pro athlete and will take supplements to help heal or take a doctors advice to rehab an injury...but won't take a common courtesy shot to stop a pandemic....seriously, go fuck yourself. I will destroy Tepera every game thread chance I get.

  4. Does he travel with Cleveland to Chicago...or do the Sox have to go pick him up. I guess I am asking if the Sox got free delivery in the deal??

  5. **Tepera blows lead EloyJenkins: "that's what you get you unvaccinated asshole".

  6. MLB should mandate vaccination and periodic testing for every player. coach, manager and employee in contact with the team. Hundreds of millions of people across the world have been vaccinated to protect themselves and also to help battle a worldwide pandemic. Anti-vax ideology is a joke...just like geocentric, flat earth bullshit and the belief that the Earth is 6,000 years old. If we allow anti-vax ideology to stand we risk losing the battle to a novel virus and its variants. If feels like we are right now looking at the numbers.

  7. Are you playing Parkman's role until he signs on for the day?

  8. White Sox trade for a cheap second baseman who now leads the team in homeruns, won a gold glove last year, and could be a solid utility bench player next year in exchange for a somewhat declining prospect. Soxtalk says, “that sucks.”

  10. Nothing about this is a disaster man. Deep breaths. Escobar and Hernandez have quite literally been the same player this year, and one is a better defender. And that one isn't Escobar. I too would have preferred EE, but this is far from a disaster.

  11. You also think Yoan sucks. You're not very good at evaluating infielders.

  12. Guy is like 98% of escobar who everyone was freaking out about

  13. I was told they're going take a big swing so until I hear otherwise that's what I think they're going to do.

  14. Escobar has slashed .247/.324/.525 with 7 Hrs with 21 Rbis and 10BB/21Ks in 101 ABs since his "injury". If that is alarming from a health sense...how are they okay with any of their injured players returning ahead of schedule?

  15. Wow, thank goodness. I’m so glad the Sox medical staff - so good at predicting injuries - is leading our acquisition effort.

  16. The Sox not acquiring a legit RF option would be insanity. None of our options are good enough to play everyday for any team, let alone one with WS aspirations.

  17. Not if your a Sox fan and have any WS aspirations.

  18. Well at least if he's refusing the vaccine he's staying under quarantine.

  19. This loss would be easier to stomach had they not blown it yesterday.

  20. Good grief. If he sucks fans should pelt him with hypodermic needles. But seriously, the Sox have a good vibe in the dugout. Hate to think he’s that dick that the team is gonna have to deal with. Eh…out in the bullpen.

  22. God I wish the Sox operated like this.

  23. It is funny how you can have 13 pages of decently nuanced discussion (mostly @chw42 kicking ass) that arrives at an approximation of a board consensus that this is a solid if unspectacular move that will help the team then someone will waltz in and post "Horrible fucking trade, this guy sucks shit" and it feels just a little bit deflating.

  24. The guys Cleveland have had success with are either super athletes (Bieber, Plesac, Civale, Mckenzie) or have hellacious shit (Karnachak, Clase) and Pilkington is neither of those. His ceiling is a cheap back of the rotation guy on a rebuilding team. He has no future with the Sox.

  25. This isn't the big swing I was anticipating but Hernandez is a fine move and I couldn't care less about Konnor Pilkington. If this is the market for solid players I hope they're also looking to bring in an OF.

  26. Indians Reddit is very meh on this. They feel like Cesar's defense has been a let down this year, but his being the 5th best clutch HR hitter has them bummed that they traded him to us specifically. and everyone is underwhelmed with Konnor because he needs to be rule5 protected next year, and they don't want that. So at least we made their fanbase even more miserable than their awful existence already.

  27. For what this team needs, I don't buy Hernandez power surge at all and he's done so while destroying his OBP. It's a disaster because it's the White Sox making a move just to make a move and settling for a guy. Escobar's track record of being this type of player is much longer. Hernandez has a few more balls not go over hte fence and he's trash.

  29. Chicago White Sox has been trading this guy for months. Finally it is done.

  30. So while we were all hoping for a big purchase from Macy's, we got something from Wal-Mart instead.

  31. Puckett and some other dude that never pitched were acquired for Melky. Also, on that Peavy trade, we also got Frankie Montas and JB Wendelken. That trade was way better than some people remember, but obviously we traded those additional two pieces for Frazier & Lawrie in the greatest half-assed “all-in” effort in White Sox history.

  32. The guy is a solid baseball player. His power surge may be a mirage, but he does other things well. He's a good pick up.

  33. The number of times everyone has listed the 7-8-9 hitters and said "This is awful why can't we have one professional hitter" is justification enough for this being a solid move.

  38. More power, better fielder, higher baseball I.Q., can take a walk. Yet somehow some think Leury Garcia is better/just as good or will keep this up.

  39. Escobar had a 105 wRC+. Hernandez is at exactly 100. Both switch hitters, both good fielders at 2B. They're very close.

  40. With seemingly no movement on the 2B front, I would once again like to thank the Atlanta Brave Organization for not releasing Yolmer Sanchez.
