This is a team that has played absolutely terrible baseball for 10 games, but it is also one that has played .500 baseball over their last 90 games. And it isn't just that they were 1-10, it is how they went 1-10. If you watched it, you get it.6 points

Leury at bat looks like when your dad tries to play a video game for the first time.4 points

Yep, he hustles to first on those weak pop ups he hits. He’s done, and it’s sad he was even considered a possible option.3 points
-
Experiment? He doesn't have many at-bats, and the other choices aren't great either. Leury or Mendick. Or some frankenstein infield with Moncada or Burger at 2B, which will probably not work. Our defence is bad enough already.3 points

Id keep him right where he is. The mirage will fade. Fine sprinkling him into higher leverage spots earlier in games or if others are unavailable but I’m not giving him Bummers role just yet.3 points

You wanna know what's crazy? AKME is about to pull a Hahn/KW and think that everything is fine, they just need to get healthy.2 points

If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding, if you don't eat your meat?!2 points

I would've taken Jalen Tolbert over Jones. Hopefully the Bears were right. Love the Kyler Gordon pick though. I'm meh on Brisker.2 points

If we need to do any rebuilding then Hahn, TLR, and maybe Kenny needs to go. They talked multiple titles and if this is the peak, we are in trouble.2 points

Here is the main issue (assuming you’re being serious) Why should a single one of us think the Sox new “plan” will get them any closer to winning? Why would we have the slightest bit of faith in the FO to do it all over again? I understand the other option leaves us no real hope and you basically just have to wait until new ownership arrives and these life-time contracts Hahn and Williams have received finally expire……but I just don’t know any other way this actually happens. I just don’t see it2 points

No. This team can still win this division. As crazy as it sounds. They should fire Larussa and the hitting coach tho.2 points

It isn't early anymore. This team is overrated. We got by playing against a bunch of bums in our division and the NL Central.2 points

Yes I get it, but you are setting Fields up to fail if you keep passing on getting him some weapons and protection. But I guess there are so many holes best player available should probably be in play.2 points

The Sox have had 1 2B surpass 2 FG WAR since 2006. The only one to do it was Yolmer in 2017. It's just remarkable how bad of a job Hahn/KW have done at solving what's been an organizational black hole for almost 20 years now.2 points
-
Does anybody else think that Yolbert is probably a better player than Harrison and Leury at this point? Defense was always his calling card, so I'd imagine he's at least equal to Harrison in that department.2 points

We have utility infielders starting at 2B. That may not be the biggest problem, but it is a problem. They didn't need another utility infielder anyway.2 points

Marcell Ozuna got 20 games for choking and beating his wife. This is a long fucking time and it rewards a hyper-rich organization that wants to wash its hands of its contract. You know he is going to appeal.2 points

How is this team expected to win in October when so many players suck in cold weather?2 points

Need this one with VV and Kuechel the next 2. We'd get lucky to get 1 of those.2 points

There’s a lot more wrong with this team than injuries, though. The little league defense, the inability to take a walk, the extreme ability to issue a walk, the roster flaws and redundancy, the manager decision making. While I definitely don’t think they’re as bad a team as they’ve shown, and I still think they can recover from this, I’m not going to expect things to suddenly turn around once they’re healthy. And for that matter, I’m not actually expecting them to ever “be healthy” at this point, whatever that may even mean.2 points

LF: Vaughn has been terrible in LF, even since Eloy was injured last week. . I counted 3 fly balls that Vaughn could not get to in just a few games and a terrible off target throw to the plate from shallow left field yesterday. Stone did not say a word about any of those plays but come on, trust your own eyes. Trust facts, Vaughn is the slowest position player on the team. I could best him in a 40 yard dash. That is not someone you want in LF or at 2B. The guy is a tank....but he can hit. So, Vaughn has to be in the line-up every day.. He should start either at his natural position 1B or platoon with Abreu at DH. That would be an ideal platoon with Abreu, keeping him off his feet a bit and possibly extending his career. Playing Vaughn in the outfield only risks a season ending injury when he makes a lawn dart out of himself again or buldozes Robert or injures him like he did with Harrison. So who plays LF now that Eloy is out? I don't know, but please no Vaughn out there...for his own sake. RF I reserve judgment on Pollock, but so far, he hasn't showed us much for the 16 Million. Too bad Colas is not quite ready. 3B Burger has been decent defensively and his bat has added power to the line-up. Once Moncada comes back, though, there is no where to play Burger. Perhaps the suggested switch of Moncada back to second, although I doubt Yoan would agree to that. 2B I don't like any of the alternatives there. Closer and Set-up pitchers - Liam Hendriks and Bummer do not look like the answers at the end of the bullpen right now. If that doesn't get resolved soon, the season could start to get away from the Sox. Middle relief: Shaky as well. Catcher: Defense has bee shaky. We just lost 8 out of 9 to Cleveland, Minnesota and KC, but I am not going to blame LaRussa for it. Our defense has been terrible during that stretch and pitching has failed us in key spots.2 points

Gobert’s contract is gross. Yes he’s a defensive monster but that much cap going to one side of the ball makes building a complete team incredibly difficult. If the contracts were closer even I would do Vuc+ for Gobert in a heartbeat, but I don’t know how you make a trade work with the Bulls cap situation. Utah probably wants more value in return as well, but matching the money and getting value would be a challenge. A Vuc trade for a defensive difference maker down low is very appealing to me though.1 point

Of all the rich guys/gals out there, why pick on Musk? IMO he's one of the more 'likeable' rich guys out there. Watch the SNL episode. He was funny and actually a good actor and he seems to 'care' which I can't say about many rich guys and almost all politicians in 2022. Peace out.1 point

I think Abreu will have a fine year. He is going to bounce back soon, and all will be well Mwahaha1 point
-
I would think no rational Sox fan is high on Eloy any more. If Eloy produces in the future, fine. But he's no longer a viable piece to the WS puzzle cause of his being unable to be available. He's a bust (only cause of injury) as far as I'm concerned. So yes to Vaughn in LF.1 point

Why not Abreu? Grandal? I mean, if we just totally untether ourselves from reality we can get a lot *more* flexible than that -- don't stop now, boys!1 point

You act like because the Sox lack starting depth, Keuchel is going pitch every 3 days. You're not a very smart guy (as your post history has indicated to us all) but let's do some REAL simple math. If Keuchle makes 30 starts in 2022, and averages 5 innings....that gives us...drumroll please.....150 innings pitched! Now, as we know, he needs to hit 160 to have his option vest. So far this season, Keuchel has made 3 starts, and has gone 4 IP, 1 IP, and 5 IP. He's also sporting a 9 ERA at the moment. Now, if Keuchel is as bad as you think he's going to be (and why should we assume you think anything more than him being the anti-christ based on your disdain for almost everything related to the White Sox) how the fuck do you envision him getting to 160 IP, even with the lack of starting depth. Again....he's not taking the ball every 3rd day. We're also assuming he's going to stay healthy the entire season which....doesn't seem like great odds given the rest of the Sox injury history. Lastly, without looking it up, 20 million for a pitcher may be the highest salary in White Sox history for a pitcher. You really believe if the Sox have a choice in the matter (which they 1000% do,) they're going to pay that to Keuchel in 2023? You're out of your fucking mind.1 point

Actually, I think the best analogy is the 2012 Tigers and the 2012 Sox. I think the Twins are the 2012 Sox and we are the 2012 Tigers. Twins are likely an 80-84 win team. Sox might underachieve but I think they will eventually pull ahead of the Twins for good. I don't think it will come on the last week of the season though. I think they will be comfortably ahead by mid september. SIDE NOTE: I was at the makeup game in 2012 that the Sox won over the Tigers and I left that game convinced the Sox had basically clinched the division. That season was a lot of fun in many ways but the end was gutting.1 point
