  1. I think this team has much, much, much bigger needs than another really good SP.

  2. Seriously where the hell is Moncada? What are we doing here? Why activate him like 4 days ago only to have 1 pinch hit opportunity? If he isn't ready to play everyday, what are we doing here? I'm so sick of rooting for an organization that ties their own hands behind their back so often.

  3. The Sox would need to start by hiring a Modern GM who was allowed to hire a modern day Manager, who in turn would hire capable 1B &3B & Hitting coaches. But the real problem is JR hiring all his kiss asses over the years on the cheap.

  4. Oh goodie. How much will Hahn overpay in a desperate attempt to save the season?

  5. I'm numb to this team, the orginazation, the coaching staff, and certain players who spend more time rehabbing then playing. Shit show!

  6. 5 scoreless innings for Thompson so far is great to see.

  7. I’d like to end the LaRussa experiment now, can we both get our wishes?

  8. I love Benetti...but he struggles so much with Gordon. it's bad.

  9. Give Burger 3rd and lets see if he is really a big leaguer or not.

  10. Lenyn Sosa doing what he does. 2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 1 R Popeye Rodriguez 1-2 with a SB Eloy 1-2 with a single Thompson 3 scoreless innings with 2 K's Montgomery 2-2, 2B, RBI promising night on the farm so far

  11. According to my mom, Leury Garcia, Adam Engel, and Danny Mendick. She really doesn't want to trade Jake Burger and Gavin Sheets. Burger can be backup SS/2B and Sheets can be the backup OF, he'll just learn to play CF. Now that I've typed it out, I'm scared of TLR getting ideas.

  16. They’ve shown no signs of turning this around. If anything, the pitching is coming back to earth

  17. I’d happily continue the Sousa experiment if the TLR experiment ended!

  18. Wouldn’t shock me at all if they finished 4th, seems like it’s a matter of which team gets and stays healthier first. Guardians will get 1st or 2nd IMO.

  19. He probably means no discomfort while he is not doing activity. It would hurt to run. This is why it is a grade 1. Can't do aggressive activity yet but is good with rest.

  20. it feels like watching a death march with this team right now

  21. find myself torn between hoping for improved play and a full dumpster fire just so the hydra mind-trust has egg on their face

  22. I like how Beckham is talking about chipping away at the lead. Mother fucker they're playing Toronto. They're bringing in Crick. You don't think they're scoring again tonight?

  23. Minnesota coming back to earth won’t magically make the Sox play better unfortunately.

  24. He just hit a triple.

  25. The pitching isn’t the big problem. It would be just like the Sox to double down on the Kimbrel move a year after it blew up in their face.

  26. Grandal - Fail Moncada - Fail Eloy - Fail Pollock - Fail DH - Fail 2B - Fail Abreu - Barely passing. Bullpen - Barely passing (when considering Bummer's suckage, Kelly's MIA, Hendrik's rough start) We should start asking ourselves, how the hell are we still within .500?

  27. I don't understand why we keep injured guys on our bench who can't play for a week at a time.

  30. Counterpoint: Once the weather warms, and we have zero injuries, and the other teams stop being good, and we all wish upon a star, the league is in trouble.

  31. What new mind numbing ways will this team find to lose another game? Tune in at 6:07PM CT to find out! And hear Gordon Beckham stumble and bumble over consonants and vowels for three hours. MUST WATCH TV!!

  32. I know everyone hated Grandal at the leadoff spot because he has been awful this year, but this was one of the very few times where I could actually see some vintage TLR coming through. He was obviously trying to give him a chance to get back to his old school self and work the count and see some pitches to see if that might get him going. Of course it crashed and burned spectacularly because it is 2022 and everything has crashed and burned this year, but at least that one made sense. If Yoan Moncada is back tonight, I wouldn't mind see TLR try him at the top of the order as well. He was at his best when working counts for cookies and not forcing the issue. Danny Mendick would just be a misuse of SSS.

  33. Bump Maybe these guys just aren’t as good as everyone thought? And hiring a drunken corpse washed up has-been was a stupid as many of us feared and predicted? And doing absolutely nothing of note in the off-season and fielding a worse team than last year was actually a bad idea? Maybe, just maybe, this whole organization is really bad at this?

  34. Well, stopping would have been better than what happened because McGuire would have scored, but it still would have been making the 3rd out with Vaughn coming up. But, no, IT WAS NOT A GOOD PLAY. The right play was to not go in the first place. No, HE'S NOT ABLE TO GET A BASE HIT BOTH SIDES OF THE PLATE. Not since last season. Every day this guy says multiple things that just don't fit the facts.

  35. Dahlquist and Thompson are 2.2 years younger than the avg player in high A. That's the most important stat for both players.

  36. If we are to assume that he won't be re-signed, then it feels like a no-brainer to me. You could get the catcher of the future, one of their top 100 pitching prospects and a lefty bat (Busch?) prospect all in one swing rather than the comp pick after next season

  37. I mean what is the upside to going? Tag up about halfway and if you see the ball go home then you take the base. Pretty simple

  38. It's baffling how Hahn refuses to make the team better. Like right now Ryan Borucki is available and he's better than Sousa and Banks but Hahn won't try to acquire him. He'd rather just stick with what he has instead of trying to improve the team when there's an opportunity.

  39. With little to no fan interest beyond ST holders they fleeced hawking playoff tickets last Summer/Fall, they stand pat or sell, versus being buyers like they were last July if they extra revenue. You see JR/Hahn quibbling over $50K with one of the few players who actually has performed well, and you tell your agent, "hard pass". The only players ever interested in signing with a Reinsdorf organization are those at the end of the line with no other / better options. That's how you get a roster full of old free agents like Lynn (extension), Grandal, Keuchel, Encarnacion, Eaton, Harrison, Leury, Cueto, etc. during your delusional "multi-championship window" TM.

  40. Let’s all face it. With TLR as Manager, our 1st and 3rd base coaches and our defense and injures, we’ll play .500 ball all year.
