  1. Release him and fire Hahn, good lord. It’s not like Clevinger being a shithead wasn’t known.

  2. I'm truly not sure how much longer I can follow this team. Absolute losers all around.

  4. Yet this guy still wears a sox uniform and cant be fired due to his ability to keep JR informed of the dugout.

  5. Imagine for a second, a poster like yourself, has already made multiple posts in a thread about this domestic violence situation. A simple click on your profile shows us you haven't made a post on this board since December 19, more than a month ago. That post on December 19th? Talking about how entertaining Trevor Bauer's YouTube channel is. I'm going to let all the facts play out here, but it would be easy for people to start making assumptions based on the evidence presented, no?

  6. This is exactly why victims are afraid to report. THEY get put on trail instead of the actual criminals. False reporting is such a small sliver of reports, and of those, people who are willing to report are also a small fraction of those who are abused.

  7. Don't be the person who looks to make excuses for people like this, even accidentally.

  8. It honestly doesn’t matter if the Sox knew or not. If they did, it makes them look worse, but how much lower can it really get at this point? If you’re already swimming in s%*#, if someone dumps some more on, does it really matter? The point is they are so far away from earning any benefit of the doubt, on anything. Literally any move they make should be questioned by everyone. Their track record, especially over the last 24 months is hard to fathom. If you tried to make every wrong move, I still don’t think you accomplish what the White Sox have somehow done. The incompetence is borderline impressive.

  9. Good god is this a disaster. So to summarize, this off-season we have lost the following: 3.9 fWAR 1B 2.4 fWAR SP 1.6 fWAR CL 1.4 fWAR UT And assuming Clevinger is ultimately released, the only external addition of any significance is a non-power hitting LF. I won’t blame Hahn for the Hendriks situation or this latest nightmare, but it does highlight how much Hahn sucks at being a major league GM. Literally if anything else goes wrong from this point forward we are completely fucked because there isn’t a semblance of depth anywear except 1B/DH. When you stop augmenting the roster and instead bank on 100% health & luck you reap what you fucking sow. Can’t wait for the day this organization is finally free of the incompetence that is Rick Hahn.

  10. I am not sure the Sox could have planned any worse of a route since the off-season of 2019 if they sat down and knew what the result of each action would before making plan. It is surreal.

  11. The idea that one is immoral for letting the process play out before making judgments is so incredibly fucking stupid.

  12. If you tell all the teams and then nobody signs him and then it turns out to not be true that becomes a problem.

  13. The sad thing is that despite the White Sox claiming ignorance here, after what they pulled in the TLR hire, I can't even give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know what was going on. They need to do the right thing here.

  14. Not if he violated some clause in his contract. Also, it’s real shitty teams weren’t told about the investigation.

  15. Worth noting, found the rules. MLB is required under a confidentiality clause to not inform the teams until they are actually ready to take actions. They can inform the players club when they are: 1 Announcing discipline or filing of a grievance 2. Establishing a treatment plan 3. Required to notify by a court order MLB itself, if I'm reading this right, could not inform the White Sox of an open investigation unless they were ready to announce discipline. It could be possible for the White Sox to have found out something else if they ran a sufficient background check, but MLB couldn't have commented to them. 17. It's not an excuse its fact. I've seen people lie for various reasons and to their own personal ends. There are no police reports, her story doesn't jive with the reported timeline Hence you have to be rationale and wait for all the information to come out and official timelines etc. The probability is more than likely, but knee jerk reactions just leave you with your head up your ass eating s%*# if things come out to the contrary

  18. If the Sox had an inkling of this and signed him instead of just bringing back Cueto... Hahn is even more incompetent than I thought.

  21. Well I am so glad we hired the KC Royals ex-coach and we are dumpster diving in the Royals end of the pool for scraps. The money will be spent. I am ready for the parade.

  22. Everyone wants Montgomery and the top guys. Sox aren’t going to do that for marginal upgrades. They needed to keep spending but Jerry lives to draw arbitrary lines in the sand

  24. I wasn't aware he learned how to: competently hit left handed (and with actual power), field well, avoid injury, and not be a moron running the bases all in one offseason. Must have put in alot of work in just 4 months.

  25. There's a LONG history of bad decision making yet everyone gets blamed except for the guy making the decisions.

  26. If we're going to keep Clevinger, might as well. I'm half serious. Whats the difference at that point? We have no morals if we keep him, so why not double down and actually win. Who wants to even cheer for this sox team? we had a dysfunctional clubhouse with mr. dui at the helm, TA discretions, no leaders, etc. So we fix it by letting go of Abreu and bringing in Clevinger and a 1st time manager.. This team is a disgrace and not even fun to cheer for. Good riddance. This is like strike 8 for me as a fan.

  27. Even if the 1000 to 1 came in, and she made everything up, it's yet another huge distraction. Another unforced error by the White Sox front office. My God, how are these people still making decisions?

  28. All it takes is one team letting a writer know they were aware of it, and the Sox are going to look even worse.

  29. At this point, domestic violence is a collectively bargained issue. Suspensions and fines cannot be dealt with individually outside of the domestic violence policy, it's strictly forbidden. The team can withhold salary if he's suspended or away pending an investigation. They cannot cancel his contract for domestic violence. http://content.mlb.com/documents/2/9/2/296982292/Major_League_Player_Joint_DV_SA_CA_Policy_English_2018.pdf

  30. I'm feeling the same way. Do the Sox realize they've already alienated the majority of their fanbase to a certain degree? Are they trying to piss off the fans so nobody cares when they move the team? That has always been my tin foil hat hypothesis.

  34. Can we just cut Clevinger, fire Hahn and blow up this team?

  35. Well, if Jimmy Rollins turns back Father time, if Brett Lawrie becomes what everyone hoped he was several years ago, if Austin Jackson does the same, if Mat Latos turns into the stud he was supposed to be, if.................Oh wait, that's why the Sox started the rebuild. Looks like they are banking on the same s%*# again. I'm beginning to think the rebuild was basically so JR could bank some cash.

  36. I'm very confused about why people are mad at Eloy about these comments. Literally every play focused story in the last month has just led to dragging the player. I get that many underperformed last year, but yeah Eloy does not have to be happy about DH'ing. It's fine that a leader is not pre-annointed, and to be sad about a legendary player and one of the best white sox of my life now off the team. "Giolito is working hard to overhaul his delivery to not repeat last year" -> "Stupid idiot always changing and he sucks!" "Lance Lynn experimenting with new pitch last year showed promise" -> "I didn't see it, the idiot sucks!" "Eloy is working hard on his defense and doesn't want to give it up" -> "ah what an idiot!" "Grandal is working with a specialist to improve his back after suffering through it last year" -> "Classic cooked piece of s%*#" K guys.

  41. Hot-dogging? I'm not sure the players on our team are really known for that. Maybe you can make the case with Tim Anderson (I would not), but that really doesn't seem to be a major issue with this team. If anything, a little bit of hot dogging would be a sign that this team has some friggin' life.

  42. Well, I just remember Jose doing the same thing, so I'm sure that's what Eloy is looking at and still holding out hope. Front office just needs a backbone though, they just need to imagine Eloy is a white sox fan so they can berate him for not being as smart as them.

  43. It's good that they are Investing in it but most important is that coaches and scouts are forced to use the stuff. Kyle boddy from driveline said a couple years ago that there were teams hiring analytics, biomechanics etc guys who would write in depth analytical reports and some of the old school coaches and scouts would put those emails in the trash without reading them. Most teams now do have biomechanics, analytics, data etc guys but what teams like the Astros, dodgers, rays or guardians do better is getting everyone to pull on one string and have a really streamlined approach while the worse development and scouting teams have the advanced stuff more as a "you can use that if you want" thing and still have many old school people who don't act accordingly to the analytics information or even actively fight against it ("we have always done it that way"). Many GMs have failed modernization that way, they bring in good analytics and good ideas but don't have the power against a wall of old school baseball lifer types who are loyal to each other and stand together to push against change. Here the owner is really important, you need the owner to tell the old school guys "my way or highway".

  44. Hahn just isn't good at his job. JR sucks beyond belief, but Hahn continues to prove time and time again that he can't operate within the budget that JR sets. He wouldn't have a GM position with the 29 others teams.

  46. To be fair, when a leader leaves, along with an entire management team, it is kind of hard to know who the next leader would be. The personality of a locker room isn't a linear equation. Who knows who emerges. Of all of the things to be annoyed with, this isn't one. Also I do like the fact that Eloy still WANTS to play OF, even if it scares me to death. It at least means he isn't a quitter.
