Diekman is just unbelievably bad. They should have cut him like Leury.6 points

Anyone who is pro-“turn 1st round/3rd overall pick into weak side platoon” would be happy tonight.5 points

Weird (in a good way) not to have that unnecessary day-after-opening-day-off-day thing.5 points

The back half of that Astros lineup is ass. Hopefully the bats get going a little more today and we don't have to pull one out of our ass again. Excited about this one, ill be sitting behind home plate. Hopefully we show out.5 points

Diekman and Graveman being used in any game that matters, is no bueno.4 points

Most of the game I was thinking to myself "welp, same old Sox." and honestly, the still might be. One game is a small sample size. But to win this game the way they did, against the Astros especially, felt like exorcising some demons. More importantly, it also felt really really really good4 points

Hahn throwing away the margins shines in games like this.3 points

They ran out of money when there were a few solid options still available. The fact they traded for Diekman when he was owed money this year is just insane.3 points

nearly 40% of our bullpen is a dumpster lit on fire. team isnt gonna do s%*# this year because Hahn doesn't know how to assemble an MLB bullpen. which we've all known for about 8 years now. Crochet and Hendriks health issues compounded the issue even further.3 points

Sounds like it's exactly that. If you're on the bench this year, you'll be used as a pinch hitter or injury replacement. Otherwise there's not gonna be much time out there with the exception of right field.3 points

I want Grandal to catch as many games as possible. That means that when he's not catching, he should be on the bench getting a full day off. Those off days should come against LHP as much as possible, because that's when Zavala's bat is most useful.3 points

And Rick Hahn got a coupon book from JR. To be fair if you are a Burger King fan some good deals there.3 points

Great start to the season. There are many things that we can do better but just a few positive observations…. 1. Great to see Yaz hit for power! 2. Dylan Cease = cy young 3. It was so nice to see this team get a win when trailing going into the a finning. That did not happen very often last year. 4. Yo yo looks so much better at the plate this year, that includes the WBC, compared to last year 5. Love the walk from TA and the patients to get the rally started in the 9th inning 6. Andrew Vaughn is going to hit all year long and hes going to hit for the rest of his career. 7. For as long as reynaldo Lopez has to close I think today was a huge step forward in regards to confidence for him. Getting the save today while struggling through it was important for him today and for this team. 8. Throughout a game we are always going to disagree with some managerial moves, but I feel like we have a competent manager. 9. WHITE SOX WIN!!!3 points

That was a fun game to watch. Even though they blew the multiple bases loaded opportunities, they still kept plugging away. Reylo throwin triple digits like it’s nbd3 points

Game 1 of 162, and I was already stressed out. This is going to be a fun and anxious season. Cease was downright masterful. He looked completely composed, and had three pitches working. Hell of a performance. Grandal looked much better than last year behind the plate, and the much-needed bomb was beautiful. Moncada looks better. He looks engaged and excited to be playing baseball. I think the WBC was a great thing for him. Vaughn's clutch double was fucking beautiful. 'Nuff said. Bullpen was decent. Lopez throwing 100 with ease was really nice to see. He made it interesting but didn't fall apart after the home run. Great game. Huge win.2 points

My favorite part was all of the shots of Astros fans looking all nervous, hands clenched, in the bottom of the 9th like it was game 7 of the World Series XD2 points

Momentum is tmrs starter and all that but I agree. It's a professional clubhouse but you cant tell me a guy like Moncada won't relax a bit after this win. He can just do his job instead of trying for hero ball and that will help. Similar for Lopez who has been through a lot as a ball player and is breaking new ground, a solid appearance for him can give him some confidence as the closer. And certainly it relaxes us fans a bit, and the players will feel that during the homestead. A split is now looking quite attainable and that will be a solid start all around.2 points

One game means nothing but we can sure celebrate it. Glad to see Vaughn stroke that crucial hit. That's a huge base hit for him. Glad to see Colas get his first hit out of the way. Glad to see Grandal get a key hit. And of course Cease was a true star and I'm glad our new closer got the save after the bomb. Needless to say Sox in the recent past have not been able to win games in the ninth inning and look like they belong. Nice win and my guy Jose has to feel dumb letting that smash go right thru his legs in his first game with a new team. I'll give the entire team an A and stay away from a few negatives on my mind after the game.2 points

This and that; First Sox opening day win since 2018 when they beat the Royals 14-7. Matt Davidson's three home run game. Astros had won a MLB record 10 straight opening day's Nice to see the Sox get the comeback win. 1-11 with RISP brings back bad memories of last year. As did the baserunning blunders. But the pitching both Cease and the bullpen were very good tonight. Overall a very nice win. They won't get swept and that's important.2 points

ON PACE FOR 162-0!!!! LETS FUCKIN GO! GRANDAL AND VAUGHN WITH REDEMPTION HITS. CEASE WITH A FUCKING GEM. BET YOUR KIDS COLLEGE FUNDS FOR CY YOUNG2 points

I guarantee you the Sox would owe Leury Garcia $11 million less today than they do if Tony LaRussa was never hired. His return screwed this team up in so many ways. One of the worst hires of all time IMO.2 points
