Jomboy breaking down Kopech’s pitch tipping against the Giants: https://twitter.com/jomboy_/status/1645250131858472961?s=46&t=0hsZGzIQ6gA2xF3CklZpQw6 points

Never a doubt with gonzer. This sox team still feels...exactly like the sox of the last few years.5 points

Jimenez, Moncada now Anderson dealing with issues. LOL. Nothing ever changes. Anderson isn't the "face" of the franchise, he's the face of the injured list!5 points

I didn't like the signing (my avatar was Joey Gallo in a Sox hat for like 8 months) but still agreed with all of this. People are spending way too much time fixating on Bentendi's contract when he's the 172nd highest paid player in baseball this year.5 points

Giving injured players lucrative contracts, and seeing them get even more injured, is a new staple in the Rick Hahn GM for Dummies book.5 points

Seriously, I would like to come home from work and be able to just sit back on the couch and watch the game. Instead I have to keep trying to sneak it in during work.5 points

Completely irrational reactions to Moncada are almost never satire, unfortunately.4 points

Attention: all fantasy owners now are getting the clear buy sign from Ron on Abreu. Only happens 3-4 times per year...so take advantage of this unprecedented buy low opportunity.3 points

Segura is hitting just as poorly as Elvis for three times the price. Popular trade target Kolten Wong has been even worse. It's not like there was some surefire 4 WAR 2B on the market, it's a low ceiling position across the league with like 5 really good players, and none of them were realistically obtainable. Frankly, even if they were, I'd probably rather put resources elsewhere. MI is the deepest part of the system. Elvis has extra value to this team because he can backup Tim comfortably at SS. With someone else in that spot, do we feel pressured to keep Leury for vet SS insurance? I'd rather spend ~$9mil on Elvis + eating Leury's contract than keep Leury and spend that $9mil on Segura who currently has more K's than total bases. Romy and/or Sosa will likely force the issue soon enough, and Hanser and/or Elvis are easy to part with given their low cost. It's really not worth getting your undies in a bunch at this point.3 points

A really sloppy game with a lot of bad swings and mental errors. A win is a win but this team, as noted, looks pretty much exactly like last year's: a .500 outfit, at best.3 points

I'm over Moncada. He just doesn't love the game and only plays when he feels 100%. Well newsflash, none of us feel 100% every day but we all still work and do what we have to do. He is getting paid too fing much money to be sitting laughing in the dugout. If anyone is willing to trade for him do it.3 points

For me when I say it its less an indictment of the contract itself than of the organization.3 points

Fans need to separate Benintendi's contract from the fact that it's the Sox largest ever. $15M for a player like him is totally fine, but because he's the big dollar off-season acquisition, unnecessary expectation gets placed upon him.3 points
-
Benintendi might be boring, and it hasn't been a great start in very SSS, but the deal is fine. $15M AAV isnt exactly superstar money 2023-2027, he adds lineup balance, OBP and is a solid OF. He solves alot of problems. But he isn't some star and Sox fans need to realize that.3 points

I like how Soxtalk has decided a guy in the top 10% hard hit rate last year in his first full big league season, that currently has an OPS+ of 131 and isn't in the field today is a terrible pick and player.3 points

Vaughn's lack of athleticism as a base runner & fielder is still astonishing to me.3 points

Hopefully everyone watching this bullshit can understand why the gamethreads are downright toxic. This is GARBAGE. All over the place. Absolutely pathetic.3 points

When will Reinsdork be DFA. The Chicago American League Baseball Club will continue to be a clown show until this pathetic miser and his fellow Bozo owners sell the franchise.3 points

He did score 1700 high school basketball points in Cincy area. Don't see that athleticism much anymore.2 points

If Tim needs work done on his knee, I hope JR has lost Lonzo Balls surgeons numbers.2 points

It's uncanny. You can tell that he's trying to work on his approach, but the umps do him no favors.2 points

This season has 2007-like disaster written all over it. Hopefully it's enough to get Hahn fired finally.2 points

Really frustrating that the Sox used 2 very high picks on players with little athleticism.2 points

Sure, but these things will even out. But yah, Sox need to avoid falling well below .500 in April.2 points

The Twins are basically putting out a Sunday lineup today. Sometimes guys are banged up and need a day. It's not a big deal.2 points

Knew their signs and still only managed 1 run in Game 4? Wouldn't be bragging about that.2 points

Correa hasn't been much better than Elvis. I think they will really be regretting that contract soon. Dansby looks like a steal.2 points

Well on it's way to a million views. Not sure they really have anything of substance. 4 home runs in 5 batters and you assume he was tipping. Much like our mainstream media I'm pretty sure old Jomboy wrote the story and then found the evidence to fit the narrative. One of the 4 homers was off the slider which Jomboy himself explains he doesn't know how it happened as he should have been sitting fastball/changeup if they had a tip. Only one of the homers was actually off the curveball where Kopech flared his glove. Really, if anything they could see the flare and just spit on the curveball, get into better fastball counts and mash, but Michael was using his changeup alot which should have helped neutralize that edge if that was indeed the case. Also, I'm not positive a glove flare like that is as obvious from homeplate as it is the CF camera. I personally think it was the lack of command and velocity, leading to 91 mph fastballs in hitter's counts that was the culprit.2 points
