Guy is a cancer and needs to go. He can take his act with him as he leaves.8 points
-
Love watching all of the armchair lip readers and body language analysts work tirelessly to invent reasons to be mad at guys, as if there aren't enough real, objective gameplay things to be frustrated over. Yes, truly, it is the players who are soft, as they insist they have been personally betrayed by a man they have never met based on something they imagined he said...?7 points

Tim Anderson said he hates this place to Abreu. He is probably not alone as this organization is trash.7 points
-
I see a 3 hit night, including 2 doubles, for Colas for Charlotte. He has nothing left to prove in the minors imo. Bring him back up and let him see major league pitching for the rest of the season.7 points

People in this thread: "TIM ANDERSON IS AN OVER REACTIONARY CANCER." Also people in this thread: "Based on a lip reading, I believe we should DFA Tim Anderson."6 points
-
Just saw what it is he reacted to. So Tim Anderson hates this place because fans booed him because he didn't take an extra base because he had his head up his ass? People paid to come out on a Mother's day and that is your reaction to people being upset for a bad play??6 points
-
You're not the only one who hates this place right now5 points

Regardless of if he said it or not he needs to go. Guy is a cancer. He can take his attitude, his arrogance and his "face of the IL" (LOL) someplace else. If he didn't have a history of shooting his mouth off "We're the best team in the league!", the suspensions, flipping off the fans in Cleveland he'd get the benefit of the doubt. But he has that history, that's not open to conjecture...that's factual. Like someone else posted he's got 90 more days here then "He Gone!" ?4 points

You are absolutely right the owner is a total POS and worst one in baseball. His lack of leadership doesn't help. However regardless if you're shitty owner or that your GM sucks, a player still has a responsibility to his teammates and fans to give his best effort, as well as being a positive non-selfish prima-donna player. Tim has lost all those traits. Plus it's one thing if TA was hitting like he did those seasons well over 300 maybe you could tolerate it more. I'm sorry though, the dude is hitting .260 with a .304 OBP as a leadoff hitter. Tim has zero home runs, with a .313 SLG% and .606 OPS. Who needs that crap along with a shitty attitude?4 points

I stand with Tim and Jose. They wasted several of their peak years playing for an absolute horseshit organization. I hope both win a World Series before they retire.4 points
-
Why? Why would he be talking about the pitch clock right then at that exact moment when he's shaking his head about the previous play? That makes zero sense. Edit: just saw the previous post's exclamation from Tim. He's just covering his butt now4 points

Some excellent points, as you mentioned about the All Star game announcement, the silence that followed was deafening and told us there is a problem that teammates have with TA.3 points

I agree they both need to be gone, but they are not the same person. TA is a sensitive big whining baby, who not only is having one of his worst years, now consistently seems to not care or wants to hustle. Whether Gio has struggled or pitched well, he has always given his best effort and always positive cheering his teammates in the dugout. I truly wish Lucas was pitching consistently good, because he is a fiery good guy that you want on on your team. TA has become a misguided drama king and now total cancer to this team. Hence why hardly anyone cheered for him in the clubhouse a few years ago when it was announced to his teammates he made the all-star team. I would trade him now and not wait. I don't think you'll get any less or more now versus the trade deadline. There is always a team that will feel with a different veteran manager and coaching staff, along with more veteran players around Tim, they will get him straightened out to his old great hitting style and attitude. When you have cancer you start removing it immediately!3 points

I don't understand the Tim bashing here even if he said that which is pure speculation. 1. Whatever Tim says Jose is agreeing with. I think if its really the case I think the focus should be on the fact that the two major stars the Sox had in the last 8 years are agreeing its not a great place to play. Jose pretty much said as much when he left. 2. Its been a terrible season for the White Sox. I have worked in really good environments but had a really stressful job and definitely have muttered god I hate my job. Its honestly not the truth but when things are not going right sometimes you just say things. I think it would be more fucked up if he did an interview and was like " this is great, things are perfect here". Basically people are people. No matter the money. Things get to them. More importantly should be the overall well being of the organization and why its not successful. I think that starts at the ownership level and really fails on the player development side of the White Sox organization.3 points

I can see both: “I hate the pitch clock” and “I hate this place now”. Given the circumstance (TA getting booed because he didn’t take second on a passed ball), I think “this place” is more likely.3 points

He likely didn't say it but it is fun to think about. Fire Hahn.3 points

I would normally agree but his biggest problem is pitch recognition and experience. I think we all know he very capable of becoming a very good MLB player. But that won't happen and he'll continue to make weak contact until he stops swinging at everything. He can get away with that in the minors. But surely if he's to get his mind right for MLB pitching ,a walk every other game in the minors shouldn't be that hard to accomplish. We should be less concerned with how he hits in Charlotte and more concerned with his process. If he was told to take more pitches and start making better decisions on the pitches he swings at , I'm not seeing evidence of that yet. MLB pitchers exploit your weaknesses so much better than minor league pitchers plus they have nastier pitches that are faster with more movement. If you aren't drawing walks in the minors with lesser quality stuff from pitchers I don't see how you can do it in the Majors. That's why I liked James Outman. Not only was he big strong fast and a good defender he also had a good eye and seemed to understand that being a good hitter just isn't getting hits on anything they throw you but knowing yourself as a hitter and hitting pitches in the zones where you can do the most damage and not swinging at the crap most MLB pitchers try to get you to swing at. Also high K rates are easier to deal with from players who also have a walk rate higher than around 8 %.3 points

They are all way to comfortable knowing the results on the field don’t matter so long as the money flows in. Maybe they cared about winning at one point, but now it’s all about selling the perception and putting lipstick on the pig. His job is PR and roster minutiae, he keeps the bosses happy, and he he’s paid well. They all live comfortably in the delusion that their way is the right way and fans who complain are simply ungrateful.3 points

Are people reading his lips and able to make out that he said "hate" and filling in the rest of what they think he might have said ? Even after witnessing him over sliding 2nd base , I realize the guy isn't at 100% but if you can run hard once you make the turn at 1st ( like he did ) what prevented him from running hard to first in order to get a double rather than an out . Run hard from the start and you have an easy double. He got picked off bouncing on his lead towards 2nd the other day. Base running mistakes can be avoided by running hard . Don't bounce , shuffle on leadoffs. Fundamentally TA isn't good. Hustle is just effort and people can see lack of effort especially when replays show you not running that hard to 1st base and then turning on the jets so high that you slid past 2nd base. Leaders lead by example. Tim will never be a leader. He appears selfish in much of what we can see. He shouldn't wonder or be bothered by boos. Sure fans misinterpret things but when the chips are down leaders set an example and Tim's play is not exactly inspiring.2 points

Tim is one of the only fun things about this franchise yet haters gonna hate.2 points
-
The Dodgers are a great example. They have the minor league abundance of talent to afford to give up some good prospects. They also have the veteran players to keep him in line which we don't have. They have veteran manager and coaching staff. Most importantly, they also have one of the best front offices in baseball with the strong leadership and culture to get the best out of TA again.2 points

There is no doubt Tim has changed for whatever mental issues he is dealing with. This is not the same Tim Anderson from a few years ago that: 1. The fans and his teammates and all of baseball America loved and respected. 2. They made a 6 part documentary about Tim due to his popularity 3. He was the face of this Sox franchise. "Change the Game!" and one of the more popular players in the game. 4. Was hitting well over .300 several years and hitting for some power and home runs His attitude and hustle is now a huge problem! He needs to be traded! I hope for Tim he can turn around his inner demons that seem to be bothering him and get back to being the fun TA, but for another team and not the Sox.2 points

Of course, it's totally expected that he goes on the trade market at far less than peak value... and the franchise is somehow further screwed for the future. I guess the only way things could be much worse would be with Abreu extended... but that probably would have blocked/nullified the Benintendi deal. At any rate, he needs to be a far better leader than he has been these last two seasons when things weren't going well. Anyone can lead when the ship's going in the right direction. All that said, even Abreu eventually gave up out of frustration.2 points

I mean, how much more evidence are the Tim supporters willing to ignore before they can admit to themselves that he's an asshole?2 points

Don't forget Liam. Colas can provide help as well if he can take the next step, the Sox have two legitimate starting outfielders on their roster.2 points

If Tim did say such thing he should be gone, ASAP. Not sure what got into him or what went to his head but he seems cockier than ever. And Tim if you don't yo be booed than put up or shut up2 points

Teams that start 14-28 don’t go 70-50 for 84 wins. And the Twins should manage 85 wins. This season is over. And Hahn should be fired.2 points

It's also yawn worthy reading about high draft picks and selling off assets this early in the season . Assets should always be traded off ,especially at high value , to bring in young talent. Sucks for fans who hate to see stars leave but necessary to keep a consistent flow of incoming talent. But talent evaluators and developers must be top notch and must be heavily involved with international talent, not just Cubans and Venezuelans. You do your best to imitate the Rays. The D backs, pirates, Orioles all climbing that ladder now. Turn cheap talent into high priced desired talent to obtain more cheap talent. I don't understand why this concept never appealed to Reinsdorf.2 points

One thing they have to do is bring in the man from third with less than two outs. They are so horrible at that.2 points

Joe Kelly might net a nice return.....if they aren't just looking to shred salary. Gotta get some decent prospects when trading off bullpen pieces this time.2 points

For the record, I originally hated the hiring of Pedro Grifol as I thought a guy a bottom tier organization passed over for their own job told me all I needed to know. Then at his press conference he said all the right things and hired a semi interesting staff. I convinced myself that maybe he was going to be a good fit. It’s as clear as day now, though despite a horribly flawed roster, Grifol is not the man fit for the job. This team has quit and there doesn’t seem to be anything he can do to right the ship. I guess that’s what you get when go cheap and end up with an inexperienced guy despite being in the “middle” of your competitive window.2 points

I hope we end up with the worst record in baseball, that payroll is hilarious considering how bad the roster is2 points

When the only two teams in baseball with a worse record than you are actively trying to lose while you are running a $186 MM payroll, you are in fact the worst team in baseball. Good job Rick. (Bump)2 points

You guys are missing a few big points. 1, He was a third overall draft pick which as we now know was probably a bad use of that high of a draft pick by Hahn. There were other more pressing needs. Having said that, do you have a first baseman in this organization to replace him if in fact you plan on trading him? 2. Go check the Sox 26th ranked farm system. I've looked at all levels and I assure you there isn't a good 1B in Charlotte or Birmingham to step up right now and produce Andrew Vaughn like numbers. 3. Since all of you are down on Vaughn that he isn't worth building around, and I'm not necessarily saying you are wrong. However playing devil's advocate, if Vaughn isn't that good, why in the hell would other ML teams give the Sox a ton of great prospects for Vaughn, since as many of you said...he is an average first baseman. 3. Give the position to Gavin Sheets. Gavin Sheets is probably a worse fielder at first than Vaughn and clearly isn't even close to Vaughn's run production. 4. I know the batting average isn't as high as we expected from Vaughn. I do think it will get better. The home runs aren't there either. Maybe in time he can be a 20-25 HR guy. However he is on target to drive in 120 runs. We have nobody on this team can do that like Vaughn. The fact is you have to keep a few players in a rebuild and he is only 25 yrs old. 5. Speaking of RBI's, Jose Abreu never hit more than 36 HR's in a season and usually in the low 30's or below. However Jose was a RBI machine driving in over 100 RBI's most years...which I believe Vaughn is showing us he can be a RBI man for the Sox. 6. Go get the next first White Sox baseman from free agency. Here are the 2024 UFA's listed at current age and many of these obviously a year old next season. Josh Bell 31 Rhys Hoskins 30 Joey Gallo 29 Brandon Belt 35 Giovanny Urshela 31 C.J. Cron 34 Ji-Man Choi 31 Garrett Cooper 32 Jesus Aguilar 32 Jake Lamb 32 Yulieski Gurriel 38 Darin Ruf 36 Eric Hosmer 33 Matt Adams 34 If the Sox are going to be prudent and spend their free agent dollars in 2024...which Jerry will have a hard time allowing in rebuild 2.0, then maybe that money should be saved for a starting pitcher or two or many of the other weaknesses we have besides first base on this horrible team. The bottom line is go right ahead and trade away Vaughn, when you don't have anyone on the present roster, or in the minors to replace him, as well as a lackluster free agency group...be careful what you wish for? Don't forget Hahn will probably be in charge of trading of Vaughn and he'll probably get fleeced like he always does.2 points
