it is kinda funny. Robert is having a real ass season and they are like "check out our .750 ops first baseman!"7 points

Maybe after years of pushing a showboat as a leader who crumbled at the first sign of adversity, they're trying someone who puts his head down, runs hard (slow) and appears to genuinely want to get better. This kid was deprived any time to develop. If he was moved along properly it'd be what, his 1st? 2nd full season this year? I still think he'll settle in as a .270 to .280/25 - 30 hr guy and will be fine. As far as pushing him as a leader? I hadn't noticed. He showed me he was one on Saturday. If they were smart, at the deadline they would've told him "I don't care what your numbers are, or what the w/l record is. You are our 1st baseman this year and next. So go play and don't think about it anymore." Maybe they did. He's looked better lately. And I agree with what someone else said about Robert being shy. If he wanted to be in the limelight more he would be.6 points

Colas however does seem to want it. You do see him always busting his ass down the line, clearly gets upset when he doesnt perform in a good spot and even Grifol said he comes to him for hitting advice. I really like Oscar. He showed the ability to drive the ball in the minors. My hope is that he makes the necessary adjustments to show the power he had in the minors. He seems to have a hard time covering the outer portion of the plate.5 points

He got a raw deal here, between the 2020 owner lockouts, then getting thrown into the outfield because Rick Hahn can’t do his job the past two years. This year he had to fill in the shoes for an MVP and fan favorite. Cut him some slack. He is their youngest starter, the only one here beyond Robert to be an everyday player and he gives good effort. He’s having a good second half, handled Tim on Saturday when it seemed nobody else could/would, and had an awesome game yesterday.5 points

I wonder if Robert not speaking much English is a big reason. Even though it shouldn't be, see Ohtani.5 points

If marketing can convince enough people that he all of these great intangibles, maybe they will look past his paltry numbers or how they wasted a top pick on a maxed out below average 1B?4 points

First of all, please don't compare the Sox attendance to the Cubs. That is apples to oranges for many reasons. Secondly, no sh*t the attendance will pick up if the Sox win a lot in 2024. However please share with us what logical facts make you think the Sox will be a winning team in 2024, other than blinded fandom?4 points

Say what you want about Ozzie, but his players respected him, and there was never this much bullshit happening under him. NONE of this would fly under Ozzie. I truly believe this team needs a manager that isn't afraid to call players out and hold them accountable. I can't think of a more perfect manager than him. With Hahn's potential firing looming, I wonder if Jerry does Ozzie a solid and hires him. Give Ozzie another chance as manager.3 points

Great. AJ can go get some managerial experience in the minors or on a major league bench. f*** first time hires that leverage their relationship with the organization to weasel in here.3 points

It's been working for me, also! And I've been around since the 1959 World Series, so don't tell me I haven't been a good enough fan of this team!3 points

I haven’t been to a game in probably five years and haven’t watched a game since 2020. I would absolutely go to this just so Reinsdorf has to squirm for one second in shame.3 points

Ozzie himself was embroiled in all sorts of controversy on his way out. It's laughable to suggest this sort of s%*# wouldn't or didn't happen under his watch. He was the ringleader of his own damn circus at the end.3 points

Lance Lynn Adds To The Rumors About White Sox Lack Of Rules (brobible.com) ?3 points

There is no doubt the attendance will suffer even more in 2024. The current Sox attendance has the #1 largest decrease in MLB from 2022 attendance figures. The way this season will implode even more, there is no doubt the 2024 attendance will continue to decline further. Hopefully it's a worst decline so maybe it finally wakes up the demented JR to clean house.3 points

Girardi got his ass bounced from the Phillies for exactly all the bullshit that you think would have made this team better. They were absolutely terrible until he left3 points

Can’t have enough ex Guardians / Guardians ending their career here. One day the Sox will learn the secrets of their “success”.3 points

This organization reads something like this and takes it as a challenge. I'm confident they can make this worse. They haven't even come close to the low point. They will grab some shovels and get to work.3 points

I'm surprised no one has hired him again. He practically invented quiet quitting. I think most folks learned a lot from the Tony rehiring. So bringing back Oz is the perfect WS front office response. Great memories? Yes! Drinking issues? Yes! Lack of effort? Yes! Out of day to day operations for years? Yes! Hall of Fame? No. But maybe with a few more years. Please bring back Ozzie. If he could piss off a couple more groups of people with his political and social comments it would really complete this s%*# show. If we're going to lose, let's be entertaining.3 points

I was at the game as well. Lots of Yankee fans. Nice to see them shut up.3 points

Stop carrying water for the org. Rick Hahn will agree with anything that paints him in any light besides incompetent. The reason these people were traded was due to the fact that they had expiring contracts. Lets not act like this was some sort of forward movement to save the clubhouse when it was to extract value from diminishing resources in a lost year.3 points

How did it take Hahn this long to figure there was a cultural problem with the White Sox? And if, like he said, it takes time for a rookie manager to affect culture, why did he hire a rookie manager if the team is in its multiple championship window? When he hired him, he made no mention of a learning year, kind of stepping back. He's so full of s%*# his eyes are brown. Lauding the "leadership" Saturday night. What about the 5 games, 5 losses before that? And crying about what happens in the clubhouse stays in the clubhouse, yet then goes after Middleton with something that should have stayed in the clubhouse? Practice what you preach.2 points

Couple points to consider: Middleton doubled down on his comments tonight to the media and Lance Lynn in L.A. confirmed what Middleton said on A.J.'s podcast along with telling the media in L.A. the same story.2 points

I too have heard the front office morale is terrible. Sucks because there are decent, smart hard working folks there who have to suffer through this. So really Rick just straight up lied. To imply that he knew for 100 % certainty that nobody slept in the bullpen is treating fans like fools. To suggest that the general manager had a better idea than a relief pitcher is insulting the intelligence of those listening. Middleton had zero to gain with this, Hahn has everything to lose. 10 years pal. 10 years to instill a culture and its still a work in progress. He'd be better off not talking from here on out. Pedro was worse. To imply that he waited through a horrid start to try to instill some order and think that that's okay tells you there has been no sense of urgency in this organization. Today's press conference did more harm than good.2 points

Hahn is never going to get it. You talk about the culture of keeping things in the clubhouse and then proceed to air out dirty laundry with Middleton. The #1 enemy of the White a Sox is not social media cesspools...it's the cesspool they allowed to thrive under the last three coaches without addressing it until it was far too late. It's also the job of the manager and GM to pull his team out of wretched starts instead of watching them snowball.2 points

I understand frustration for several aspects regarding Tim the past two season. Don't think there is a person not disappointed in some of the things he has done or his performance, impacted at least in part due to injuries. What I didn't understand this weekend was the substantial support of Cleveland's actions, including their Division clinching clubhouse last season. Tim responded to a finger waived in his face. Tito and Ramirez's comments, Ramirez posing with boxing gloves, their team chant of f*** The White Sox in their clubhouse celebration , Josh Naylor's trash in October were all thought out / premeditated. These people are trash, and nobody including Cleveland fans should condone, embrace or excuse their actions.2 points

Ramirez did not take off the gloves for this fight. He connected with TA on a wild swing as he was being dragged down himself. You can do a lot more damage by hitting someone with gloves on rather than bare-fisted and I bet that was the case. Tim meanwhile hit the back of his head with bare knuckles. His hands probably got injured from that. Ramirez comments that TA "does not respect the game" as translated, were way out of line. As the video show, Ramirez was tagged out and decided to point his glove right in Tim's face. There are a lot of players that respect the game that would take that as a challenge to fight and Ramirez knew that when he did it. Ideally, TA should have walked away from the in your face challenge but then I suppose he may have been criticized for backing down. For those who don't like the man for whatever reason, there is nothing he could have done right.2 points
