Our guy who was hired because he was supposed to know the team, is talking to reporters in Detroit trying to figure things out. Meanwhile, other teams’ execs are scouting in Japan. this has been a Mickey Mouse operation. Nothing changes with Getz.10 points

“These last couple of weeks of the season, I need to spend more time with Pedro, the coaching staff and the players just to learn more about areas that we need to get better,” Getz said. Learn more about areas we need to get better, that would be pitching, hitting fielding, trading, drafting, player development, have I missed anything?5 points

Just a thought, but I would say a smarter team would have traded Vaughn for a AA pitcher and moved Burger to 1B. Jake would have hit for more power and played better defense than AV. Now we have Getz relying on this crappy coaching staff to evaluate talent? That's nuts.3 points

You think teams are intimidated by his .754 OPS? And that guys like this are hard to find? Meanwhile here’s Atlanta:3 points

“Pedro came into a tough situation with the disappointment of 2022" said Getz. Yep he came into a tough situation and made it worse, if 2022 was a 'disappointment' then what was the sh*tshow of 2023?3 points

Since he was traded, third baseman Jake Burger was batting .305/.359/.516 with six homers and an .875 OPS in 34 games for the Marlins through Saturday. Between the Sox and Marlins, the former Sox first-round draft pick has 31 homers, 25 doubles, 69 RBI and an .827 OPS. Left-hander Jake Eder, the Double-A pitcher the Sox got in return, is 0-3 with an 11.42 ERA in five starts at Birmingham.2 points

It's clear as day that Green Bay didn't dominate the Bears going on 30 years just because they had the fortune of having 2 HOF QBs back to back...they are just better at football top to bottom. Their ownership, FO, talent scouts, player development and coaching staff. Most of Love's big passes were to recievers completely uncovered so it wasn't like he made some tough pin point passes. GB's coaching staff put their players in a position to succeed, our coaching staff look clueless, so of course, so do our players. I'm done with this s%*# franchise.2 points

Where do you start with this team, near the bottom in all offensive categories being last in OBP and BB. There are no untouchables except for Robert and hopefully Montgomery will be ready in 2025 so there is your core. I’m not sure how they get rid of Moncada with his contract, he has been pretty good lately but can’t be counted on, on a couple of swings last night he fell to his knees as something was buckling, I’m sure he will be going on the IL soon. Eloy’s power numbers are down and he can’t run or play the outfield. Vaughn might bring something decent in return but he’s another station to station player. TA right now won’t bring much in return, in order to trade him we have to pick up his option, I’d pay him the million bucks and send him packing. Benintendi isn’t a bad player but far from great and won’t bring much in return either. I think those guys are the core that JR speaks of and if he thinks that you can build around those guys it’s obvious that JR is getting delusional in his old age. I haven’t even mentioned the mess that we have as a pitching staff and of course there’s the manager and the coaches with none of them earning their salaries. I think Getz is figuring some things out but if he’s relying on Grifol for his input and that Grifol will lead the team to the promised land, he’s barking up the wrong tree.2 points

At least he'll get more innings as a middle reliever. It's the only way he'd see the 4th inning on a regular basis.2 points

Dick left seven years before JR and EE bought the club. And you must be fairly young if you don't know who Dick Allen was.2 points

Same with me. I forget my last game that I tuned into on mlb. Quite frankly it makes me feel anger and totally bored to watch our hitters hit and watch our starters do that stupid leg kick after their delivery is over. They need to bring Buehrle in as pitching coach for a couple years (beg him, pay him) and teach guys to pitch as he did. Our hitters have the worst approach and our pitchers blow chunks as they say. If they Sox are gonna be this bad next year they should bring in Veeck's kid and let him come up with some fun promotions to at least make it fun. Not disco records but something to get fans minds off the game.1 point

I thought the game was great. Let’s alll hope Love is the third straight HofF QB! ?1 point

Other than the two games against the Cubs in August, I haven't watched a second of White Sox baseball since the trade deadline. Don't miss it a bit.1 point

Five hits, lol. Boy our Sox are pathetic. Sad to see that parade of bad relievers come in game after game. p.s. Sox TV ratings have to be ridiculous. Nobody with a brain would watch an inning of Sox baseball. Are Royals coming to town? Can u imagine if they told the truth about people in the stands for that series? Cmon. There won't be 2,000 fans there Monday night.1 point

The oline was real bad and the play calling was either real s%*# or it shows you how little the oc thinks of Fields.1 point

He can either elevate this team or he can go. It’s black and white for me this year. Mediocre or flashes are not good enough.1 point

They are still a young team and they still have a lot of upcoming draft resources, so they’re still working to rebuild things. 8-9 would be the kind of positive movement you’d be pretty content with overall, but you’d really like them to have come out a little tougher than this at home against GB of all teams.1 point
-
With so many holes on their roster, they can’t be expected to fill all needs and turn things around in one offseason (the previous one was turning over the roster). I didn’t think they would be better than 8-9.1 point

Bears offensive playcalling is telling us all we need to know about Fields.1 point

Why does he have to spend time with Pedro or anyone else? Just watch this team for 2 or 3 games and you'll see what's wrong. You're right. Weaknesses are everywhere.1 point

We have a front row seat to a guy who threw away a long term baseball career on a couple years as GM. You can't recover from this organization. He needed to get out not up. I hope he saves his money.1 point

We already have. Unless he succeeds, in which case we will be enraged if he is ever traded due to a positional logjam and everyone will pretend they were never against him as a draft pick.1 point

Trying real hard to remember a scenario White Sox Fans weren't considered "them" in the eyes of Jerry and his minion's "Us", and that includes Boyer. Treats fans like rubes. We don't have to look for anyone else, Robin, Tony, Getz are our guys. Pedro will return. They are the best available, I don't need to interview anybody else. Tony and Getz know it all, Getz better than Kenny and Rick combined. "Chris is the only person in 43 years to develop minor league players the right way, the way I wanted." - Jerry Reinsdorf August 31, 2023 Hard to be passionate for an organization that dumps and trashes many players and contributors that care greatly and were top contributors. Fisk, Thomas, Hawk, Ricky, Jose. "“Allen had kind of a checkered career, I wouldn’t have voted for him, he only had 6 good seasons.” - Jerry Reinsdorf1 point

There are 8 billion things to destroy the White Sox for but this is a bizarre one. All guys that highly touted get that type of hype. Hell, Keith Law had him as the number 1 pitching prospect in the game. That's just what top prospects go through.1 point

Getz: “And once again, I look forward to sitting down with our players and learn more about how things are being taught to them. Perhaps there are some different ways and ideas to effectively get our club in a direction it needs to go.” Cool. Good thing we cut corners to get the guy that will hit the ground running. Surely an outsider couldn't do this.1 point

Merkin weighs in on the Burger trade: "Jake Burger has reached 30 home runs, 25 coming with the White Sox. And I don’t understand why he ever was traded from Chicago to the Marlins. That belief is completely independent of the talent possessed by Jake Eder, the left-handed pitcher the White Sox received in return. Eder already is ranked as the No. 5 White Sox prospect and might turn out to be a frontline starting pitcher. Burger still shouldn’t have been traded. People were quick to quote his swing-and-miss rate and his lack of walks, but the 2023 season was the first in which Burger received more than 185 plate appearances. His overall offensive ability remains untapped. There’s been a great deal of talk about leadership in relationship to this White Sox team, and Burger is a leader. It was pretty evident from the overall clubhouse disappointment after he was traded. He showed the ability to learn and adjust, which he has really been applying since missing three years of baseball due to injury. He also was willing to work at every challenge the White Sox gave him: third, first, second. If they wanted him at catcher, he would have done early work behind the plate. He wanted to win and wanted to win with the White Sox. Most of all, he had the ability to change games with one swing, which is missing from this lineup, aside from Luis Robert Jr."1 point
