While I'm pissed they didn't go get a real difference-maker, premium assets for rentals was my top-level fear. I'm "happier" standing pat than I would've been with worthless desperation moves.9 points

probably going to the dodgers then. Gotta tell you, as miserable as last night made me, realizing I went through 3 years of shit baseball after a decade of shit baseball, where I thought we were cleaning the house to bring up a bunch of young players to finally be able to get a big fish...and to see multiple top 5 players in the game become available...and to once again not have the budget. the players. the resolve. It is such a gut punch. This organization is the least relevant organization in the history of baseball. It used to be the padres. It used to be the astros. You can say rockies, and sure. But Rick Hahn has done no better than the rockies during his tenure. I really don't care what shitty moves this team makes. I only want (metaphorical) harakiri of all involved. I can't imagine getting one of the best jobs in the world and being so shitty at it for a decade.8 points

It probably went like this RH: Jerry we have a deal in place to get us Jazz Chisholm JR: Tony said he plays Leury at 2B RH: Well we have another deal to land Joc Pederson JR: Tony said he like to play Leury in RF RH: Well what about Carlos Rodon to boost our rotation JR: Tony said he has Leury lined up for that as well RH:7 points

He could never say it outloud, but I wonder if not wasting resources on a TLR led team factored into this.7 points

Hahn did the right thing not trading Colas/Montgomery for mediocre rentals. But it’s his fault we have so many holes and lack a deep prospect system to make a deal without giving up too much.7 points

Anyone gonna ask him why his fucking manager was sleeping in the dugout yesterday???? Anyone?? White sox media sucks7 points
-
Also, you could have added a premium prospect to the system if you didn’t make the asinine decision of not offering Rodon a QO7 points

And the Sox activate Robert to sit on the bench, again. I've never seen a team in my life activate as many guys off the IL who don't play that day. So odd. So they play a guy short. Again.6 points

I like how they tried to use Robert being activated as damage control. Why play a man down for no reason tonight?6 points

Steve Stone 2021 This team will be fired up as the front office showed them they believed in them ny acquiring the best reliever available. Steve Stone 2022 There is nothing more a front office can do to show they believe in this team than by standing pat at the deadline.6 points

If the Sox really do come through the trade deadline with Jake Diekman as their main piece, this franchise gets everything they deserve from the fan base. Ever since the day that they decided that Tony LaRussa was the finishing piece for this franchise, they have completely ignored the fan base in everything they do. Hopefully the chants fill the stadium and continue to embarrass the franchise on a daily basis.6 points

He’s surprised that a team led by a 80 year old who fell asleep in the first inning yesterday lost some of its swagger?5 points

Frank Thomas on the pregame- “this team leads the league in chains and chillin’.”5 points

Fuck off Hahn. I do think he is frustrated to an extent I do. But you know what I've lost all respect for being a Fucking pussy. Once JR went over his head he should be resigned. If he had any self respect and balls to do so5 points
-
I'm probably in the minority on this but I'm glad Hahn wasn't able to make any moves. He would of just gotten fleeced by a real GM. There was no one or two players out there that the Sox could have realistically gotten that were going to change the trajectory of this season. If this team is going to do anything it has to be with the players here actually starting to perform as they were expected to.5 points
-
If you canr change the players, you need to change something. JR won't embarrass Tony even though Tony embarrasses JR almost daily. Fire Hahn tonight. He has failed. If you can conclude Renteria wasn't going to get you there, there is ten times the evidence Hahn isn't the guy either. Let KW retire, and try again. L5 points

Rick Hahn is just about the worst GM I’ve ever seen. How he’s handled the last two years is freaking pathetic. He needs to be fired immediately and then go back to rooting for the Cubs.5 points

If you were going to standpoint, we should have sold off short-term pieces and relievers. Why is Cueto here if we aren’t even trying to do anything but squeak by into a short playoff series?5 points

Not going all-in was/is the smartest thing the front office has done in a while5 points

he should look around the league at what other GMs have built to have constant pipelines of talent to trade and look down at his 30th ranked farm masterpiece. If you had told me in 2019, or this board, that we'd have a 170 m budget, I'd have guessed a brilliant roster. He built the worst possible roster with that 170M. He decided to use his funds and buy a bunch of middle relievers and closers. He couldn't be a worse GM.5 points

I know not all of Preller's moves have worked out but man, I respect the hell out of the way he does business. Good for the Padres.5 points

Abreu is far and away our best position player (and obviously has been for awhile). Hes also the only one willing to play every day. Why in the world would anyone want to get rid of him?4 points

The Sox field a slow-pitch softball roster yet can’t hit homers. It’s truly one of the dumber things I’ve seen. I don’t know how any of this gets fixed.4 points

Deep down I knew it but didn’t want it to be true. Hoped it wouldnt be. Somehow it’s been worse than I could have imagined.4 points

I would absolutely trade Giolito to cards. There is no point not to this year.3 points

Explain your relation to Rick Hahn? Are you his son? There have been rumors that he’s posted here for years and I’m starting to think we’ve solved the riddle.3 points
