  1. You hear that? The Royals haven't scored 5 runs since they last played the Sox. LOL

  2. Do any of you actually think that this team deserves to be in the post season, even if they somehow end up in it? This team doesn't deserve it, nor fan support. Let management be required to fix the obvious and egregious short comings of this organization, before the fans support it. I didn't watch, but reading the account of the completely mishandled Kopech's injury caused first inning debacle, only reinforces the notion that the people running the organization are inept.

  3. Did not watch the game today. Probably won't watch too many more games this year especially once College FB starts. There has never been a White Sox team that I have not enjoyed watching any more than this one. And you long time Sox fans know that is saying a lot. I expect this team to quit here very soon. There are way too many players on this team who are not dedicated to being professional athletes. And then you add totally inept leadership at EVERY level and this is what you get. This Front office, coaching staff, and team do not deserve the time, attention or money from White Sox fans any more this season.

  4. That would of required a fan yelling instructions to him.

  5. Right now as a 24 year old on a roster that believes pulling the ball is a mistake, Vaughn has an .802 OPS. This would be good for 11th among 1b performance in MLB. They’ve burned some of his control and value for that reason but he’s clearly a valuable player to a significant fraction of baseball.

  11. This game was a perfect microcosm of the season and the rot that pervades the whole organization. Just awful.

  12. I just dont understand why they didnt fire Menechino months ago. Now next season IF, and thats a big IF we get a new guy hes going to have to figure the team out from scratch next year. Why not get him in there NOW to try and salvage next year as well? Holy fuck this systemic approach to hitting is the WORST I have ever seen in MLB. WORST

  19. Just floored how bad TLR is as a manager. I hated his hiring and I'm floored at how much worse he is than I expected.

  20. Someone else alluded to this in another thread, but probably to treat Cease's warm-up yesterday as part of his off-day routine. Likely less disruptive to his rhythm. Also gives Cease a start against a tougher team.

  22. Here is my 1-sentence review of every new birmingham player for the uninitiated: Colson Montgomery - Literally is Joe DiMaggio Bryan Ramos - The nerds pick for sleeper bat in the system Luis Mieses - The man has hit more doubles than 98 albert belle but in a good way Christian Mena - Throws a large number of pitches for strikes but yet to overpower with anyone Wes Kath - He either hits the ball hard or Ks with a beautiful lefty stroke of air DJ Gladney - see above but with a righty stroke Wilfred Veras - A large man who has had a great single-a campaign but is gonna be bat only driven for rest of career so is likely our future right fielder Kohl Simas - Dominating first stint with rumors of velo uptick but went on IL and has faded since returning (also bills son) Jared Kelley - Finally putting longer outings and finding some swing and miss but still wildly inconsistent Norge Vera - Dominating stuff but has had so few innings last 3 years and he's already probably near shut down Andrew Dalquist - Invented "the dalquist" which is 2 IP, 10 hits, 14 BBs, 1 k Adam Hackenberg - Hit 2 home runs on day 1 and that's enough good will to get you through tye year Tyler Osik - hit monster, late round pick who is likely a bat only guy but hey, probably our future catcher then

  30. To be fair, they are in Kansas City. There was no fans yelling into the dugout to wake up Tony to let him know to make a change. Also, it seems funny now that Cleveland was trying to duck this clown show.

  35. Renteria fired for taking foot off the gas after clinching playoffs. Tony keeps his job keeping car in neutral all year to save gas for later.

  36. Even if they didn't know Kopech was hurt, this was an opportunity to skip his spot in the rotation given that he's so far over what he's pitched before. Just dumb.

  37. Did getz think about how this kinda ruins our minor league watch party experience? Also, getz showing 4d chess by having none of our affiliates remotely competitive so there is no issue destroying any playoff hopes for the local owners.

  38. I wonder if hahn has kinda given up a little because he is frustrated by Jerry. I'm sure hahn hated it when jerry hired larussa and also didn't give him much money to work with. Maybe hahn went to jerry in may to fire larussa and menechino and jerry said no and then hahn kinda lost motivation and just did nothing at the deadline. That does happen sometimes with employees when they face a frustrating situation in their company that they can't chance, they kinda emotionally detach themselves from the job and only do the absolute minimum to keep the job until they find another job opportunity. Hahn is a smart person, I'm sure he did want to have a smart modern manager, an improved analytics department and a modern data driven player dev but he probably faced too much resistance in the "bro company" and when jerry didn't support him in cleaning house and remove the guys who resist modernisation he probably just gave up and kinda only did the minimum as he saw his efforts as futile.

  39. On the subject of a “rebuild”, I continue to believe the only option for the white Sox is some version of running it back again next year. They have too many guys under contract who have performed so poorly they can’t be moved for what you’d need to get to justify a rebuild. Robert, Moncada, Eloy, Grandal, Giolito, Lynn, Pollock, Kelly, Anderson - you’d be selling low on any of them, and Grandal is on the edge of DFA. For example, moving Lynn or Moncada might save them money next year, but you’re unlikely to get anything back that makes the team better other than saving money, and you might even have to send money with them. Does moving Moncada for no return, saving some money, and having Burger start at 3b make this team better? Does moving Lynn for scraps and having $15 million to spend on the FA market make them better if Davis Martin takes his spot? With all of those guys, continuing to play them and hoping for improvement remains the only realistic option. For some of them it gets you through their contract, for others maybe they can stay healthy or have a comeback season and that rebuilds their value. They have guys they could trade to bring back a solid haul such as Cease, but doing so doesn’t get them out of their current contract situation. It does them little good to trade Cease for a prospect haul that helps in 2 or 3 seasons while they still have to pay Grandal, Lynn, and the others next year. What happens if a few of those guys return to form, but you traded away Cease, so you’re still only an expensive .500 team? Furthermore, there’s no reason to think Cease or Kopech will be worth vastly less next offseason if it does come to that point. Change the entire coaching staff and front office, parade Rick Hahn through the south side after being tarred and feathered, make some tweaks around the edge to the roster with the limited room you have, and hope that a new staff can reinvigorate some of these players next year. If they can, maybe the team competes, or at least maybe someone like Moncada regains some value. If they can’t, then you’ve cleared a couple contracts (Kelly, Lynn, Grandal), and now you talk about moving a Cease or a Kopech at the deadline next year or in winter 2023-2024.

  40. If ever a team needed a managerial change, it was our 2022 White Sox, probably too late now to make a difference but this moron we have now should have never been hired in the first place. Another bad decision by JR in a 41 year span of many many bad decisions.
