Remember when Rick said he was going go make trades to help augment the roster and then proceeded to only make a minor one? Oh those were the days when I thought we were serious about winning instead of banking on perfect health & luck. What a fucking s%*# show.5 points

It's been the same front office for this entire run. This is the bed they've made for themselves.4 points

I hope not. Nicky Lopez stinks. Just play Lenyn Sosa3 points

Uh, the time to spend the money was in November and December when there were real impact players on the market. They went quasi-cheap bounce back option again and got totally burned signing a garbage human instead of the normal garbage player. They s%*# themselves and now just have to sit in it. It’s honestly what they deserve, and throwing more money at bad won’t solve anything.3 points

Dominating at AAA to open this season and showing his plate discipline wouldn't get exposed facing the best pitching he's ever seen in his life would be ideal to me. We've seen much better and more polished prospects than Colas struggle to hit the ground running in Chicago.2 points

If they are going to half ass this, they might as well blow it up. At least be honest with the fan base.2 points

For some reason I think that benefits the Sox most in the division.2 points

I had issues redeeming my 10 game voucher plan this afternoon. After merely texting my rep asking her questions about seats, her boss called me and pushed very very hard to get me to double my commitment from 10 game voucher to a set 20-game plan. Was even offering me Guaranteed Rate Club seats for one of the games to get me to upgrade. It was honestly a fair deal, but I kept trying to tell him that my buddy would not be on board with adding MORE games to our plan, when he's not even a Sox fan to begin with, but he loves baseball. The guy was nice, but very persistent trying to get me to commit to doubling my plan. What I don't understand about those 20 game plans is how they can just expect someone to both WANT to go to those predetermined 20 games or even be available for them. I enjoy the freedom of the 10 game voucher being able to choose my own 10 games, or just choose 5 games with twice the amount of tickets, or whatever combination I want. ?2 points

No Cease, Cole, Woodruff, Nola, McClanahan or Castillo on either list. The number of pitchers you can make a deserving argument for goes like 30 deep.1 point

I don't think there's any harm in slow playing a prospect and having them show you they're ready to advance beyond on a given level. Colas' plate discipline was pretty alarming in AA given the caliber of prospect he's supposed to be. It's entirely possible there would be an adjustment period for him once he gets beyond AA anyways so it'd be better for him to experience that in Charlotte than Chicago. The Sox would also be in a much healthier position from a roster standpoint if Colas were penciled to enter the season in a depth role or Charlotte but of course we know this front office doesn't place any value whatsoever on depth. How many actual contenders would be comfortable with plan A for RF being the ~60th-130th best prospect in baseball with 0 depth whatsoever behind him in case he fails?1 point

There is a nice positional core developing outside of catcher: 1B: Vaughn 2B: Sosa/Popeye SS: Montgomery 3B: Ramos LF: Benintendi CF: Robert RF: Colas DH: Jimenez Need some of the young pitchers to come through as well, but at least there is some reasons for optimism in the long-run.1 point

There is a pretty big difference between trading Giolito and "blowing the whole thing up". Giolito, and any other expiring asset should be traded if the Sox aren't winning the division or within a couple games as the TDL approaches.1 point

It’s so nice we have Leury tied up so we can let superior teams sign our castaways like Mendick and Harrison1 point

Yes. And I love that they are changing up some of the story (keeps you guessing if you have played the games) without going too outside of it. The last episode advanced the story just as much as the story told in the game. Obviously, they have to be told somewhat differently as they are two different forms of entertainment.1 point

I feel like more accurately it took him being bad. He was prepared for the former.1 point

I was a season ticket holder from the day they signed Carleton Fisk up until the last day of old Comiskey. When they built the new park and raised prices and moved my seats I did not renew. The salesman that got my account was very abusive and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Since then I’ve sporadically attended games with 2022 being the most games I attended. About 12 to 14. All lower bowl expensive seats seats 3 to 4 tickets per game. Concessions, Parking, spent on average about $300 a game. 2023 will be different. I don’t think I’ll spend that much right now only the “ Hi Mom “ bobble head game is on the calendar. They don’t want to spend and neither will I.1 point

I think we can change that F to an A ... sox signed Nate Mondou!!!! 27 year old in the A's organization who made it up to the majors for a week last year. That said, we know how impossible it was to make that A's roster. They were going for that World Series and just gridlock on the MLB roster with talent. We don't have to blab on about Jazz anymore. We have our second baseman for the next DECADE!1 point

If there is such detailed reporting out there, I apologize as I did not see it. I only read the Athletic story and saw the IG photos. If there is such details as you quote on the events linked to the Athletic story again, I did not see them. Soxtalk is overwhelming against him ever pitching for the White Sox but sure make it sound like he whole forum other than yourself thinks the whole story is a fabrication.. A couple of people are stating reasons why we think that he will still pitch. Nobody is claiming they have anything but disdain for him and everyone seems to agree this was a terrible move by the team. Maybe they will release him and potentially eat all the money.....I think they will if the MLB comes back with something along the lines of 80 games as rabbit posted yesterday.1 point

As a professional designer, my opinion: TOTAL lack of vision REALLY weak execution absolutely AWFUL presentation If I showed my clients something like this I’d be fired. I shared this with my daughter who is an interior designer that works on major architectural projects and she agreed. I’m still contending that someone in the org had their 16 year old kid do this because they knew how to use some free rendering software. Completely unprofessional work.1 point

Nothing bitter and alarming about expecting results. After a decade, Hahn's track record speaks for itself. Like any manager or a company or sports organization, it's unacceptable and calling for him to be fired is not only appropriate and reasonable, but "alarming" that it hasn't been done already.1 point
-
For me, it is not bitterness and hatred. It is frustration because things never seem to change. And, of course, we, as fans, have no control over it. You can put up billboards or bring banners inside the ballpark, but it has no effect. Today, it's Clevenger, tomorrow it will be something else.1 point

Really bad offensively but unlike Leury he is a truly great fielder and can play all three spots. But yeah this is why I wanted schoop who at least had a prayer of being good offensively.1 point

3 of 4 seasons 58 or lower OPS +. 2021 an outlier. Doesn’t have a .600 OPS the other 3 seasons.1 point

His bat is terrible, but at least his defense picks him up for some value. He had the 13th best defensive WAR of any 2B with more than 500 innings at the position. Somehow he was almost a 6 fWAR player in 2022.1 point

I’m actually moving this into the “good move, if costs nothing” camp. He is a wonderful fielder and would love to have more assurances there.1 point
