  1. TA was not a leader. He was expected to be, but he was not and is not.

  2. Ricky Renteria was the lone manager to hold players accountable and produced the best winning percentage in the Hahn era. Players possibly grudgingly respected La Russa the first few weeks of 2021 (Tim said wait and see in Spring Training), but after the Mercedes incident, there was little respect shown publicly including Jose and Tim telling La Russa to GFY if he thought about holding them out of a lineup. Tim also publicly told Yermin to ignore Tony. Hahn spoke like he was looking forward to dumping Abreu during his comments at the La Russa exit conference and at other times last year. Hahn showed Abreu zero respect, though it's hard to recall a time Hahn has shown anyone respect beyond kissing Jerry's ass. The Sox weren't planning on competing in 2023 anyway. Instead they pissed away $75M for the worthless LFer. Abreu should have been White Sox for life, as a player and beyond in whatever role he wanted. Then again, Jerry Reinsdorf and his Cronies have shat on many people over the years, be it Harry Caray, Carlton Fisk, Larry Himes, Frank Thomas, Ozzie Guillen and others. It has gotten so bad, even lifer Hawk Harrelson is speaking out about the poor ethics and integrity of Jerry's current organization.

  4. Too early to tell if they are as bad as the 1970 team that finished at 56-106. One thing is that this team is probably the most unlikeable bunch of stiffs I’ve seen since 1952 when I became a White Sox fan. I did vote that I’ve never seen anything like this because it just seems to me like these guys don’t care, a lot of talent going to waste.

  5. It's just so wild to me how consistently bad Hahn's teams end up. Look up north at the cubs. They have put together so many dominant defensive teams - which people rarely credit them with. But they value it, even finding a great position for Happ. The Cards the same. The Twins org has prioritized power, and never stopped. ANd have gotten some premiere power teams and it looks like the case again. CLE has prioritized their pitching excellence supplementing it with strong defense and just enough offense from some superstar finds. Hahn for the last decade has put teams on the field who are below average on defense, poor at getting on base, and slow. And the 2 years it was different it had strong power, which they consistently deprioritize for budget. He is just so so so bad. The sox are so far behind as an org that swapping him out does nothing, but he in particular is just so bad at this job.

  7. That's the thing. This was supposed to be their contention window. Had they done things the right way, they would win these divisions hand over fist. I mean, it's practically begging to be taken with how bad the division is. Just adds fuel to the fire. They absolutely just pissed away this rebuild.

  8. I opened up my MLB app to see what time the Sox play today, and they’ve already lost. This team is amazing.

  9. Jake Burger is the only guy I really "like" on this team. Maybe Andrew Vaughn too. Most of the others I couldn't care less about and there are quite a few I downright dislike.

  12. At least they are consistently bad. I much prefer this to flirting with .500 the entire season.

  15. As evidenced by the silence in the clubhouse last year when TA was named to the All Star team, these guys didn’t get along last year and it looks like they don’t have a lot of kumbaya going on this year either.

  16. When I was in high school, the Sox lost 95, 94, 106 games respectively . they were just really bad . Comiskey was mostly empty . maybe 2k on some days . but there were guys like Bill Melton, Carlos May, Ed Herrmann, Luis Aparicio, Tommy John, Wilbur Wood, and Ken Berry . some of my favorite all time players . the 2023 Sox are just not a likeable team . they seem totally lost, and dead in the water.

  19. So Colas shows the expected rookie slow down after the league adjusts to him and he now can't crack the startling lineup. Classic White Sox, the season is already meaningless, let him take his lumps and play nearly every day.

  20. What would need to happen for a shakeup at the top? There's only one answer to this.... And it has to do with someone dying.

  21. TA would be the first guy I would trade to break up this shitshow of a team.

  22. When will the Sox announce the cancellation of Soxfest? they not only think very little of their fans, they are afraid of them. They might say mean things like you are not good at your job that pays you millions.

  26. The Mets and Tigers had some real bad teams in the late 90s and early 00s. But I think they were trying to be bad. This is the absolute worst "we're trying to be good" bad team I've ever seen, in any sport.

  27. If the Jays keep scoring it's going to be hard for the Sox to come back and win this one.

  29. Rick Hahn saying some fans hope the rebuild fails so they can say I told you so....They have been saying I told you so since he took over, and have been right. No real Sox fan is really enjoying this. It fucking sucks. Last year sucked. You wait 6 months and hope things will be better, and the season is over and it's still 40 degrees outside. Resign Rick.

  30. Honestly, I blame the organization not being able to help these guys. Its just across the board of consistently watching players who have potential and had success in the minor league not be able to put it together at the MLB level. The coaches need to do better. They should rethink a new pitching coach at this point. Beyond Cease everybody else has taken a step backwards under him.

  32. Hey Kopech, How about showing up, throwing 107 pitches over 7 innings and giving up under 3 runs…you know, like a major league pitcher should be able to do on occasion!

  33. Of course they can. That’s the narrative the last two years even though they won 93& 81 games with the same crew. Always blame Tony.

  36. I hear some people saying the White Sox aren't going to win another game this year. I think they're wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox still win as many as 50 games this year.

  45. Def sunk cost fallacy at this point. The sooner we move on the sooner we can start heading in a different (hopefully better) direction. @Lip Man 1 I'm not sure if you have legit insight or if you're just an old (rightly) cynical follower but in this case I hope to hell you're wrong.
