Imagine being told a year ago the Sox would be 13 games under .500 on May 2nd and they would be promoting Billy Hamilton and Alex Colome to the big team.7 points
-
Only the White Sox organization can say with a straight face to their fanbase that they are promoting washed up AAAA asset Billy Hamilton to the major league roster in the same breath that they also say with a straight face that they are still trying to breathe life into a team to compete for the playoffs and remain in the conversation as being one of the premier AL teams. Either they are too dumb to know how bad at this they are, or they are just that sociopathic towards their fanbase. I honestly can’t decide which these days.7 points

The minor league player development staff should be ashamed of how much they struggle to produce MLB ready players6 points

Do you think they graded the White Sox too high?6 points

It’s pretty funny that in the same statement he called them all his partners in this business and also the dumbest motherfuckers he knows5 points

We will be paying Moncada $24,000,000 next season. Harper will be paid $27,000,000. "How in the world could these guys have made money to buy a team??"5 points

I’ve despised this man since 1983 with the Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall incident when on the night they clinched the 83 division he and Einhorn came on TV and trashed Harry and Jimmy, Reinsdork might be a billionaire but is also a classless asshole. Don’t bet against this creep screwing White Sox fans one more time when he sells the team to someone who will move the team to Nashville or Charlotte.5 points
-
He also stated something along the lines of as an owner you have to let the GM and baseball minds do their jobs and not interfere with operations…. yet he did the exact opposite when he forced TLR upon the team.5 points
-
At this point there isn’t anything left to say. As fans we are held hostage by this man until he is no longer owner, and now he feels pretty free to remind us that 4th place can be fine5 points

Mcguire is irrelevant. Guaranteeing Diekman 4.5 million dollars for no reason at all was just so incredibly stupid. It sums up Hahns tenure perfectly where the margins never mattered.4 points
-
Sorry, I'd rather watch Oscar Colas play on a loser team every day of the week, than Billy Hamilton. This organization really has no grasp on logic or reality. Billy Hamilton...really?4 points

Remember, this is the guy that sits in the owners meetings wondering how some of these other schmucks got teams. As if he is the pinnacle of successful ownership.4 points

I think everyone on the board would give them that grade. Its a damn embarrassment and its time to give it about 3 more weeks before they need to blow it up. But what would be the point because Hahn and Kenny would be making moves and getting swindled like they have for 20 years. I look forward to the season so much, get the MLB package to watch with my wife and my son and the season is over in April. I can thank these guys for giving me the best garden in NC because I have so much time to be in it because its better than watching the Sox. I cancelled our trip to Baltimore to see them play I am so disgusted. I curse Joe Kelly and Aaron Bummer every time they get in the game. I find myself cursing and then laughing at how friggin bad we are. I long for the days of Ricky Renteria, that is how bad it is. They have taken away what was supposed to be an enjoyable few months for me. I built a big covered outdoor patio with a big TV and bar and was ready to watch the Sox all year. Now I just use the bar to get drunk and tolerate a game. This sucks.4 points

He claims when other owners spend on big deals for players, he has to follow suit. Except, he never has. they're the dumb ones though, winning in the playoffs, while his teams don't, to a historically bad level of don't3 points

He's had a whopping 1 year in the minor leagues. If 27-year-old Jake Burger is being proclaimed as the team's future after the absolute hell he battled through, Oscar Colas can be given the benefit of the doubt.3 points

This entire franchise is a joke.3 points

I also don't understand how they aren't performing way more churn among minor league FA and waivers. It was so clear that so many of the Charlotte staff last year couldn't be on the AA team of the Rays. Actually I do understand - the org is incredibly lazy. I remember Hostetler bragging about how stupid the prospect writer lists were and how he'd lie to them...but is there any org that seems to toe the value of the top 100 guys mroe than the sox? We rarely trade them, and we all remember Hahn's brilliant trades to grab Casey Gillaspie and a declining Blake Rutherford. It was 100% because they were on the last prospect handbook he had.3 points

I am so glad I cancelled my partial season tickets. A friend of mine still has them. They used to have parties, and events for season ticketholders, now they are trying to bleed even more money out of them. Like the bad play isn't enough. Apparently, Season Ticketholder "Appreciation" Week is coming up. You can be part of a pre game parade around the field. Don't have a ticket to that particular game? The Sox will sell you one. Also if you buy tickets to another game, they will throw in a patio party. However, if you already have a ticket to that game, you will have to pay for the patio party. What in the wide wide world of sports is going on over there?3 points

Despite the results, he's right, everyone else is wrong. I wonder how those ladies felt sitting up their after just purchasing the teams, having new ideas instead of thinking it's still 1981, and Jerry up there basically saying new people are clueless. I wonder if Jerry ever figured out the woman owning a women's soccer team has more season ticketholders than he does.3 points

I’d grade them below OAK — everybody knew they were tanking.3 points

Festivus must be a week long event at the Reinsdorf home. Jerry seems to want to air a lot of grievances. He calls other owners dumb, yet has a bloated payroll and an 8-21 record after 81-81 during his sustained winning time.3 points

The only way to change this is to stop going to games. Tune them out. I know it’s a tired sports thought but damn man enough is enough. I feel foolish giving my hard earned money to this guy who has no interest in winning.3 points

I don’t think he lacked self awareness and was not able to see his hypocrisy, I think he doesn’t care and is gonna tell you what he wants you to hear2 points

Plenty of other times to complain about ESPN’s take on the Sox but they’re not wrong here.2 points

Many of these comments add weight to what David Samson said JR told him about finishing second from a profitability standpoint and keeping fans interested. By the way JR through the team never denied making that statement he said he "didn't remember" saying it, which is entirely different.2 points

What a sack of s%*#. It’s interesting contrasting Reinsdorf with the sports I follow these days (German soccer, because 1) lived there and 2) lol Chicago sports is a tire fire). It’s clear that Reinsdorf could give a s%*# about the fans and their connection to the team. There is a very clear difference between “the club belongs to the fans” and “this is an asset I’m trying to maximize the value for.” It’s very clear where Reinsdorf aligns, and we’ll all be better off when he’s dead. Good riddance.2 points

Too much BS to even try to respond to all of it...but so tired of the liar saying, ""My approach has been I never really cared about making any money..." So some of his other comments: "If you have somebody who decides he wants to spend $42 million on a second baseman who hits .202, and one comes along for you, you’re going to probably have to spend the same money." and "Now our rights fees are about $700k per game…Streaming is coming along but it doesn’t produce the money that the cable bundle produced. And there’s basically near-panic. because where are we going to replace this money in the short term?" Do those comments sound like a person who doesn't care about making money? Sounds to me like he is very concerned about it. Where he is correct is that he should consider what fans think or they won't buy your tickets. Well this fan is done buying them as long as you're the one selling them.2 points

I am starting to hate the abreu was a "leader", "mentor", "great example" words thrown around for Abreu. Our players had always appeared to be lazy, we had a bad and divided clubhouse, no accountability, and more lazy... Is this indicative of a good leader, mentor, and great example?2 points
